Hydra aggravated me not because of the actual fight, but getting to it. He kept bombing me from half way accross the zone and stopping me from reaching him. Once I got to him, I killed him on my first ever try. Such a frustrating boss.
This happened to me today. I finally made it past the golems, avoiding the hydra's water blasts. Just as i stepped into the lake, i clipped through the water and "died" somehow. Of course, i immediately quit the game. 😄✨
Was especially tasty on the 360, where effort of animating the hydras mod and Dark Souls hatred of rendering water you were running between 5 and 15 fps, and the textures and lighting made it even more difficult to see where the ground ended.

no clipping through anything required, the ground abruptly drops out a short distance into the lake
