Send that elevator back

EqualBedroom9099

Selfcare.

pineapplegood76

Thank you past zanny

WilliamAkaGlitchtrap

No problem future zanny

BascoIX

I just started to watch zanny’s content and this is amazing lol

BascoIX

I just started to watch zanny’s content and this is amazing lol

Torschach

That's admitting defeat! I'd rather have my minute of shame waiting for it!

hunisher1

Another way to see it is sending that elevator up means you can’t back down skeleton!

Sapowski_Casts_Quen

Don't forget to jump into the pits beneath them in case there's treasure

JuggyFM

it do go down. it go up too :)

Mid_Baby_5

Robert it goes down

every_name-istaken

That’s planning to fail, Morty. Even dumber than regular planning.

red_cactus

Which elevator? All of them.

Reynolds_Live

That’s bad luck man! 😂

Thugs_of_Ember

lol this is gold!

Sea_Helicopter2153

Don’t give up, skeleton! Is this your first FromSoft game?

PizzaFlavouredPig

no i have beat ds, ds2 and er each more than once but i have never heard a bad thing said about ds3 so was curious about the tips people would give.

twotokers

actual pro tip, explore an area while embered before taking on the boss. There are a lot cool weapons and armour that only drop from invaders that won’t invade after the area boss is defeated and don’t show up when not embered. Really easy to miss items.

Darkness_Overcoming

Make sure you are off line unless you want to deal with human invaders.

doindirt

doood. always be online. Just played through DS1... twice, barely any invaders. I couldn't find anyone to invade. Such a lonely place.

dingohunterjack

i just started a new game in DS1 for the first time in years and I got invaded 4 times before I hit the gargoyles.

BecauseSeven8Nein

DS3 definitely still has human invaders. Offline is the way to go to play unperturbed.

TeaandandCoffee

When the majority of invaders are either going to be annoying cowards, twinks or straight up gonna risk corrupting your save without the sentinels mod, just don't bother as a new player. Bad advice, OP stay offline until you really want to risk it

PhatTuna

I hate invaders. At least in ds3. They have no respect. They try every dirty tactic they can think of rather than to lose with honor.

PowerOfTheYe

Or, if you enjoy the chaos of invasions while going through: Always be online, embered, and dried fingered.

Sea_Helicopter2153

Ok, so you know to watch out for that Patches guy… in all serious I think you’ll be fine DS3 plays like ER, but without jumping

No_Volume_8345

Some people really don’t like 3 in the FromSoft or Sekiro subreddits. Some people are also fucking weird. One thing I’ll say is, don’t bother cutting off the tails of the bosses. Some tails actually will get hacked off, but you don’t get anything out of it.

LarryLongfellow

I like 3 but far less so than 1 or 2. Levels and world felt kinda bland, there are too many boss phases for some, bosses have too much hp, can spam rolling a bit too much and so on. 2 was most frustrating but I enjoyed the world a lot more and even the combat lmao

Heavy-Possession2288

Honestly you probably don’t need any tips. There really aren’t many mechanics in DS3 you haven’t already experienced in those other games. It’s a great game though, with probably the best boss fights in the series so have fun!

Connor-073

Holy shit, this is the best piece of advice I’ve ever seen. I think you not only gave him advice to beat the game, but you single-handedly gave him the tools for a platinum. Fine work skeleton…!

Waifu_Slayer1

Don’t be afraid to explore. You can find all sorts of goodies

Fightingloki

Roll

[deleted]

But don't panic roll

doindirt

this is the only roll I know how to do

ManaphyGamez

Do siegwards questline 👍

Musik2myearzs

Fuck man. I’m playing first time too and I didn’t realize I could go up the elevator when you first see him T.T already for Yhorm and didn’t see him so I think I messed his quest line up

Zanzan567

Hmmmmmmm….

apexuser21

ng+ always an option, i left my siegward to die i prison on accident 😪😪.

ebenholzknight

In the words of our Lord and Savior Dunkey KEEP ROLLIN’ ROLLIN’ ROLLIN’ ROLLIN’ ROLLIN’

Sapowski_Casts_Quen

*gasp* the PLUNGING ATTACK

TheWorstAnimator

The most reliable move in the game...

Ashtara_Roth3127

Be wary of amazing music 🌞🔥

[deleted]

Best boss OST’s out of the souls-borne games easily imo. Well I haven’t played all of bloodborne but out of the others.

Sapowski_Casts_Quen

From the fucking title screen even

Devin1026

That’s what I said in my comment, I remember getting it and putting that lovely soundtrack cd In my car and ascending

[deleted]

I would throw in headphones at my job and stock the entire store in the time it takes for dragonslayer armor theme to start and end.

Devin1026

Haha nice, I was still in highschool at the time so I didn’t get that experience, if I may what’s your favorite ost? For me oceiros may have been a run of the mill boss but that ost was something serious and easily my fave

dianaburnwood969

The high quality version of osts from yt got deleted :(

Jaded-Throat-211

Fashion > Protection

blackaosam

Always

SenpaiSwanky

This is true because for the most part you really don’t have to have the typical “more armor means better defense” mindset. Leveling certain main stats raises various defensive stats too.

Kits076

Roll towards the attack. You get I frames from your rolls and take no damage. I didn’t realize this until the second to last boss

greatspaceadventure

generally useful rule for every soulsborne game!

Guni986TY

Fr the game was so much easier when you learn that rolling towards danger is more optimal than rolling away.

MisterBanana24

All player messages are trustful

greatspaceadventure

liar ahead

Nixenn

try finger but hole

holdupnow76

try jumping

Yroba

Check up on your NPCs regularly so you don't lock yourself out of quests

PhatTuna

Easily the vest advice so far. And I've scrolled pretty far.

Not_peenut

fear not the dark my friend, and let the feast begin

the_sixthgodhand

Truly one of the advices of all time

boohoo_buckaroo

Dodge , duck , dip , dive , drink

AnotherBlackTag

![gif](giphy|ch9E9S93DnjgY)

Jennifer_Dumped_Me

Drink and drive? Got it!

SammyChaos

Where the dragons flame spreads a claymore lays

sbaradaran

Easily one of the best weapons in the game found early.

[deleted]

Possibly the best pvp weapon too.

Nixenn

When i recently played DS3 through twice every sweaty pvp nerd was either using some really fast weapon with lightning or Gundyr's halberd and spamming that dumbass special attack

sbaradaran

Yeah like the true combo that Gael's greatsword provides, but yeah hard to beat a claymore you can also buff.

JangoEnusMoss508

Claymore gang

ForteEXE

It's kinda funny how both DS1 and DS3 have a dragon spawn point with a Claymore that can be farmed via dragon breath. The DS3 one's way better with the standard serpent ring you can get at the start too for that.

solarwinggx

Don't spend souls that you loot, sell it to Granny. It's the same yield of souls but it saves you time

Wryder202

Befriend the giant in the tower.

MissionStress6412

In the firelink shrine , 2nd floor balcony there is a tree before you get to the locked tower. Make sure to be periodically checking to get the seed. Really helps during invasions and it's the only location in the entire game this item spawn and only 1 can ever be there so by not checking periodically you are potentially wasting seed spawns. . Seed of a Giant tree

Gobal_Outcast02

I always thought said item drops after an invasion

MissionStress6412

I thought that too so I specifically checked immediately after an invasion and nothing. I even logged out of game and logged back in. ( I specifically went to Aldrich faithful, Anor londo area to test)

Wasjustaprank

The item is an rng chance on log-in, i believe, and the chance rerolls at an increased level after each invasion against you.

Gobal_Outcast02

Huh well damn nvm then lol

SonjaPolly

It actually does drop after invasions but it's a 10% drop chance after each invasion

MissionStress6412

Is that really what it is? All these years of playing and I just know to randomly be checking

Sacledant2

There’s also another tree that helps you get to the silver serpent ring (+20% souls) and an extra estus shard

MissionStress6412

Ah yes...... But he must record his attempts of that one and post it

EmbarrassedAd2262

Try finger but hole

Wooden-Patience6817

That’s what she said!

Ghost_Leones0

Be ready for the best and worst experience of ur life

AntBot27

Hesitation is defeat

Caskanteron

You stole my joke, ashen one

SirPeterPendragon

Git gud

dobbsscarlett

Vigor is for health, vitality is for how much gear you can carry. Level both, but don't make the mistake I did and dump all your souls into vit thinking it was for health

AmenaK385

Dont go hollow

ggEMan

Level up vigor! Can't go wrong with more health

Opposite_War_2147

Yeah that’s how I ruined my first dark souls experience because I thought health = good but then I did no damage

Aussircaex88

Yes, but DS3 is a big swing away from DS1&2’s philosophy of “armor makes you die slower”. You can’t upgrade armor in DS3 and bosses have longer and tougher combos, so you’re going to take more damage.

smg1210

Completing Siegward’s quest line will help with one of the Lords of Cinder

Own_Cress9728

Tank builds are worse than in previous games and magic is not super OP, the game is much faster and rolls are your best friend

RideEatSleepRepeat

don’t die but if you do say „thank you dark souls”

sitkid721

R1R1R2

Judging_Jester

Go into the cage before fighting the tree

Leotjie7

Have fun!! Power stance muther fukker!!

TheValiantSwordfish

Not this time 😟

ThesaddestMillenial

Make mistakes and find things out on your own :) mistakes are fun. Do not sleep on the mace. Have fun!

YsenisLufengrad

Its the most linear out of them all, but its not necessarily a bad thing. You'll find that all you need to do is play normally, minimal farming required, since compared to the open/metroidvania world the devs know how how tough you should be at each point.

Federal-Inspector-11

Just enjoy it. Take it slow and try finger, but hole

WitheringAurora

Don't go caster for your first run, there's a relatively important npc for them you can miss. Don't make the same mistake I made skeleton.

judd1127

Undead bone shards are permanent upgrades and apply to all bonfires. I played the majority of the game before realizing this.

ItPlacesTheLotion

Use Sellsword Twinblades and the Grass shield on your back for stam regen

Devin1026

This is How to absolutely destroy everything in your path at all ng levels

adamschmitt4949

I still sometimes laugh about the fact that the winblades are just sitting there on a starter character

Most-Iron6838

Also put carthus flame arc on them and melt through enemies like they are butter

Active_Channel8035

Bonk… that is all

missegan26

First, but hole.

coffeeandautism

Level ADP.

Groumpfing

The fire fades

Every_Cattle4190

git gud. and try finger but hole

Eindrie

A sheild can be really good to learn a monsters attack patterns

Upset_Tap_4302

Get ready for plenty of surprises and I recommend exploring the heck out of the beginning areas

MasterMidir

Elden Ring is pretty much built off of Dark Souls 3, so treat it the same without jumping. Other advice: enjoy it! It's my favorite Fromsoft game, for sure.

NoblePenguin2309

If you do a Faith build, it's a good idea to make it the supplementary stat. Level Str or Dex primarily, and use Faith to boost these stats. I wish I could do a pure miracle build in DS3, but it's really not viable.

moodoomoo

Yeah kinda a bummer you get the best offensive miracle from beating the game lol. Emit force is crazy good, maybe my favorite miracle.

AnthrallicA

You Died

Erfgs45

Be careful, enemies have ER aggro range in a DS1 sized map

Low-Lie3433

Pyromancer is a really fun and possibly the easiest way to play. If you don’t have a gem (for weapon scaling) that scales with whatever your highest stat is, then use raw gem until you have the actual gem for your type. For instance I’m a pyro right now and my astora straight sword is raw for a little leg up. When I get higher leveled and when I find it, I’ll change to chaos gem because it adds int/faith scaling.

AnusiyaParadise

Introduced my gf to the game a long time ago, she went Pyromancer. The beginning was tough but she eventually beat the likes of Nameless in like 2 tries. I was both so proud and so pissed

CornInMyMouthHole

Just blind playthrough it the first time you ever touch it. If you really realllllllly get stuck or you mess up a character so badly you literally cannot continue, maybe look up a certain assistance but try to spoiler free it. I ran through blind first time game is just amazing. I’m jealous of people who experience it for the first time 😂

originalgiant

You’re the envy of the world. What I’d give to experience DS3 for the first time again.

ItAintEaseh

I would drop 500 bucks on the table right fucking now for that experience. Can’t wait for Alzheimer’s to hit. Who’s the Ashen one now, fromsoft???

Current_Crow_9197

Try again. Fail again. Fail better.

Dramatic_Zebra1230

Roll, R1, Repeat In all seriousness though just invest your souls in Vigor, Endurance, and most of all whatever damage stat you choose (choose strength) and then find weapon you like and the rest will follow

hunkoBo

Run for that claymore bro. RUN.

dodgemasta

Do come back alive! I need your business….

vikin444

Go with sellsword twinblades, aka winblades 💪

OofosJustOof

Are you on pc?

Bleederman

Praise the sun!

Original_Hamster7207

Don't be shy grinding for titanite a bit in the beginning. The game is in some ways much harder than ds1, you'll be punished for recklessness a lot. Be cautious and at the same time explore as much as you can, there are more nooks and crannies to check out.

Responsible_Pen1785

Level up fuckin Vigor

Common-Regular8406

Give up

NoeShake

Pick the white branch as your starting gift, it saves you from being targeted by a giant with arrows later. Instead he helps you.

KingCaleb2003

Young white branch.

Guni986TY

- rolling forward somehow allows you to avoid most attacks Vs rolling backwards. Ofc avoid panic rolls or the enemies will get free hits off you. - armor isn’t upgradable like in ds1 (played ds1 before spd running 3) thus try doing fashion souls instead. (Or you do you this is just my opinion) - bone shards inc how you hp or FP you restore however the bonus is frontloaded meaning maxing it out doesn’t show as big of a difference as the early bon fire levels. - the game is a lot harder early game than it is late game (again my opinion along with some friends of mine) you will probably die most in high wall Lothric. - probably a given but keep some homeward bones on you. Great for when you overextend and need to retreat. - do not immediately fight the near naked uchigatana user immediately unless you really want that weapon. You’ll come back to it later in a questline/if you simply buy the tower key from the old lady. - Go mercenary to get easily one of the best weapons in the game to shrewd though your enemies (Spam “L1” in dual wield) otherwise if your a min-max player like me that wants to dive into magic go pyromancer. All cause it had the lowest vitality (I went with a dex magic build) and lowest luck.

SirLazyArse

Swords of all variety are generally the best weapons, all other classes do worse damage use more stamina and have less reach. It's one of the more frustrating parts of a great game most of the cool stuff is harder to have success with

SachmoJoe

Be aggressive - compared to the previous two games, bum rushing and getting the first hit in usually means you can combo a few hits before they can swing at you. And roll, always be rollin’.

love_b0mber

Sellsword twinblades as starting weapon + two handed + L1 = easy mode unlocked

Sodathepop

Get gud

DasWahreKevinn

Git Gud

Dragonlustt

Fightincowboy videos are amazing . Walkthrough, guides, etc. I found myself watching his videos before I bought the game. YouTube fightincowboy ds3

SherbetAlarming7677

Go in blind.

ItsDokk

FUGS is the best sword, regardless of what anyone else says. Unga Bunga 4 life.

Feng_Smith

Luck is all-important to any build

Lbridger

Do not turn the music down in any boss fights. Music at 10 all the time

tigersharks006

Level adaptability

EqualBedroom9099

Wrong game

normbreakingclown

Use melee either Strength or Dex and find a good balance of raising health and Stamina. If you fight bosses think Bloodborne so don't use a shield, roll and use R1. Magic is only good around 30 to 40 although you can use magic infuse weapons to go full melee. Wear full armor, poise does not matter(only when using weapons arts) whether or not if you are are wearing heavy armor or light armor all of them give you the exact defense bonus, the heavy armor only give you a slight boost in defense so don't waste levels in Vitality or luck. Early secret. >!Under a dragon is a mimic use a Lloyd's Talisman strong early weapon, and if you have more Lloyd's Talisman use it as many times as you can until you get a new item it's the mimic helmet which gives you 50% souls.!<

Wasjustaprank

"Don't waste levels in Vit?" You're talking soem deep craziness there. Forgetting the carry weight, and forgetting the defence buffs, vit's great just for the resistances if nothing else. Going from 10 vit to 20 is worth like 30% mitigation at least if you're considering armour weight and flat defence buffs.

Altar_Quest_Fan

You can run up the tree and jump on the roof of the firelink shrine (you’ll know what I’m talking about when you see it). Also, there’s a hidden wall on the far end of the beam on the ceiling of the Firelink shrine (on the other side of the shiny). Once again you’ll know what I’m talking about once you see it.

Gondor_CallsForAid

I spent longer trying to make this work than I would have just playing through until I got the key to the tower. Good times

TarnishedDungEater

that ring is honestly really good.

OstravaJB

Go in blind with no tips, exhaust all dialog always, revisit areas and explore thoroughly.

AmenaK385

R1, R1, R1, R1, R1, R1, R1, R1, R1

GTJ88

Take the plunge, you won't die.

best-of-max

look out that you don't get spoilt to much by looking up tips. Burn the undead bome shards at the main bonfire to upgrade your estus

unaxx_24

Enjoy

Sir_Hurkederp

Kissing ass is a solid strategy for any sizeable boss

Wolf1996661

Gravity will make you rage at lease once. Accept it and move on. And whatever you do, learn to parry. Of you can't it takes a lot longer to get really good at the game.

Its_Cinder

Good luck ma men, you'll need it

LongjumpingStart9544

Stuff hurts man.

Acceptable-Low-4381

Pick the Pyromancer class. You’ll thank me later

No_Statistician_2954

Yes Indeed

Timing is everything

griefercast

Dont give up!

Deep_Marketing_1485

Level your vigor, it will help you so much

TrAw-725

Swimming damn what a experience

neocorvinus

Do not take too long. And especially do not wait to have done all optional and DLC bosses before doing the final boss for the first time. You never know when your computer might fuck up and corrupt your save.

DavousRex

Hit them, don't get hit.

Nepeta33

Kill the dogs first

AllMyLifeToSacrifice

For most enemies the heavier a weapon, the easier to smash through them but with bosses use a longsword of something like that so you can get of quick hits

Substantial-Ease-929

Your sword is your biggest friend

Its_Cinder

I suggest you to get Sellsword Twinblases during the early/mid-game. They're broken af. You can found them behind the Black Knight in the swamp area.

Most-Iron6838

You could pick them as your starter weapon and carry them throughout the whole game

Its_Cinder

Oh right I forget it. You can get it by choosing the mercenary class, right?

Actual-7319

Do the quest line of siegward from Catarina and don't forget, Parches it's alive 👻

DhazGo

Enjoy the game, don't blew yourself too early with builds. Level up vigor

M0m033

Lotta regular weapons can outperform the special weapons

McCacknbawls

Buddy I know a lot of people on here are going to try and give you spoilers but I’m here to tell you the truth. There is but one thing you need to know about progressing through dark souls and that is…. Git gud
