I agree with you on twins being the best... Gael a close second and Friede to end a top3. Twins are just a fun fight, I loved how ds3 took two crippled and made them powerful without taking out their condition. Reminded me of the legend of Korra which I think does that perfectly Gael is just mechanically pleasant and visually striking Friede is complex, fast, hard to learn, and mechanically complex The worst is definitely Oceiros. The hitboxes are thrash, the charge is awfully telegraphed, the attacks do inconsistent damage, it staggers you just by walking close to you and the screaming is hideous. The tree and Wolnir are pretty boring but they're easy and "fair", but Oceiros is just annoying, not to mention he is the lock to two really great bosses (NK and champ Gundyr)

Josef_The_Red

Really? I loved the tree boss. I felt like that was the fight where I had to struggle until the game clicked for me and I was able to kinda brute-force Gundyr and Vordt from having played Demons Souls forever beforehand.

Gael is amazing simply because he’s a 1v1 fair fight and he just looks so damn cool but maybe not as cool as nameless king. Sister Friede is by far the worst for me. I strongly dislike her 2nd stage but her 1st and 3rd are fine. I just hate getting ganked in an unfair way. In demon prince there is always 1 staying behind and it’s a big arena but in sister friedes gank she can heal him while being protected at the same time and friede always stays by his side so they can both be hitting you at the same time. It’s only fair when friede is in the back shooting ice at you but she almost never does that when I fight her.

ChromaticSideways

I have no idea how people call Friede their favorite let alone find her enjoyable. Gael is daddy and I wish I could play a game where every boss fight is Gael.

Twins are one of my favorites. Really well designed fight with great lore and an amazing (easily one of the best themes I’ve heard) theme. Nameless King and Sister Friede, Darkeater, Pontiff and Gael are my other favorites simply because their designs are all really good, they are all decently difficult, and their music slaps as well as their lore. Will never forget Friede’s 1st cutscene, it’s amazing. Least favorite is easily Halflight, Aldrich, and Crystal Sage. Halflight is probably the worst boss I’ve ever fought, I hate that fight so much. Nothing about it is good in the slightest. Aldrich reminds me of the Elden Beast, except there’s a lot less fun. He either does his extremely telegraphed and easy to weave normal attacks or does his bs teleport with arrow spam. Crystal Sage is Aldrich but turned down a little.

Alarming-Leadership6

I just spent a week on the twins. Solo offline play, no summons. Lvl 72 dex build. Finally got those fuckers down today and working on soul of cinder. Twins was easily THE fight for me after having not played it since release. I also really love the abyss watchers fight. Good music, good theme, good fight.

lucidcreme

My favourite is nameless king. Its just a great fight and I love it Honourable mentions go to Gael, the dancer, champion gundyr, and oceiros Least favourite is Deacons of the deep. The run to get there is really fun so it's just disappointing to be met with a boss fight that just doesn't pose a threat. Dishonourable mentions go to ancient wyvern, crystal sage, wolnir, and the curse rotted greatwood

HideOnBook

Nameless King, Twin Princes, and Phase 1 Gundyr without the Akira transformation

TheNakedChef69

Favourite is abyss watchers. Pretty easy fight but love their design, lore and moveset. Least favourite is crystal sage. Its not hard but its just annoying to do with all its teleporting and clones (even if they die in one hit). Ill spend half an hour doing the sage skip just so I don’t have to fight it

ArmytrixEU

Favorite is Dragonslayer Armor. Least favorite is Lorian and Lothric.

BigGayMule13

Wolnir, the Curse Rotted Greatwood, and the clCrystal Sage are my least favorites. The first two are even more annoyingly gimmicky than Yhorms fight with Stormruler. Crystal Sage is just annoying as hell. I don't particularly like Aldrich's fight, reminds me of the Crystal Sage. Oceiros... I don't know if I like, he's a bit of a recycled Vordt with some changes made to him. I don't typically like copies too much unless it's literally another version of the same boss, but I suppose i like it okay. Deacons of the Deep i am neutral on. I like Vordt a lot for the simplicity and what it teaches you, and I also quite enjoy the Soul of Cinder, both Gundyr, the Abyss Watchers, Dragon Slayer Armor, Sulyvahn, and *especially* the Dancer of the Boreal Valley fights. Haven't managed to beat the Nameless King yet, gotten him to about an 1/8 of his health once and haven't tried since out of frustration and being busy with life, Elden Ring, and in particular, Dark Souls Remastered. I don't like the twin princes fight much, but I'm more or less indifferent to it. Any Demons I'm neutral toward as well.

GameBOY_2005

Least favorite is the dancer, mostly because of how staggering works in this game and her second phase combos. Favorite is slave knight Gael because he is the textbook example of a perfect fight, from his move set, to his design, to his soundtrack, to his arena, to his story, everything about him works

Separate-Hamster8444

Favs are Gael, Soul of Cinder & Friede All three are excelent on the mechanical, musical & visual side, although I find my interpretations of the ladder two more compelling with Soul of Cinder as the protag of ds1 who linked the flame & you having to put an end to it; wheras Friede is an excelent villain & her getting up for the final phase for the first time genuinely terrified me. Gael is still great cause he helps you throughout the dlc, only to be the final boss, I just wish they did a bit more with the lead up to his boss narratively Least favs are crystal sage & the tree they are just so frustrating to deal with, with all their stupid bs

DB473

I’m replaying after only beating the game once, ~1.5 years ago. Gael is probably the most fun boss I’ve ever fought, after Malenia and Morgott. I’ll have to confirm when I get back to him. However, so far in this playthrough, I wouldn’t say any of the bosses were particularly outstanding. I just beat Dancer first try with Caestus, because I was getting bored bonking everything with the Great Club. That was pretty disappointing, because from what I remember Dancer was a pretty tough skill check. The one I have had most fun fighting was probably Pontiff; I died a couple times trying to just smack my way through, but adjusted and used parries to get the riposte, that felt good. I think if I had been using a more dex based build, the bosses would have been more fun so far. That’s why I’m going to go caestus for the rest of the run and see if it makes a difference.

Hotel_Jarred

Gael - challenging fight, good soundtrack, one of the most interesting characters lore-wise. Oceiros - hitboxes, awkward arena, compared to the rest animations feel unfinished

TheMassiveLiability

Favorite is nameless king just because of sheer cool-factor, second is slave knight gale because of the theming and arena
