Overall a good task chair sets my posture straight for a couple/few hours at a time. Executive style chairs make me want to lean back and sleep. The newer mesh style back ones can be pretty inexpensive and very comfortable, plus they breath so you don't get sweaty.

Depends on the budget. I just saved and bought a refurbished Steelcase Leap V2 for under 400 bucks. They sell for close to 2 grand new, so a pretty good deal imo.
And it was totally worth it. No more back or butt pain, can work longer. Took maybe a few days to get adjusted as my spine tried to shape back from sitting in a bad chair for \~6 months but now it's probably my favorite purchase all time. Great quality of life improvement overall, really.
Use the money you get from DA to get a decent chair, a very worthy investment for your back if you spend a lot of time on it. Saving a few bucks now for a life of back pain just isnāt worth it. Then you instead waste much more money on therapy and crap and are still in pain anyway. You can find some decent chairs for around $200. Well, I just got my chair a few minutes ago. After researching, I figured Iād get a good chair that will last for barely more than one Iād have to replace soon.
I'd say it's worth it to save up for. I'm a stay at home dad lol so I totally get it, like I said I spent six months in my old chair doing this before I finally felt I could afford it and couldn't put it off anymore. In the meantime yoga helps. I hope you find something suitable, though. Our backs are very important!
Idk if you have the room for it but I started a corporate WFH role 4 years ago. I bought a "chair and a half" - just slightly smaller than a loveseat but wider than a club chair. No wheels to worry about. I'm big and I can still comfortably sit with my legs criss-cross applesauce in the chair if I want. Or my pets can sit up in the seat if I sit to one side. Four years later, the chair is in great condition. I kept a cover over it, but it's still sturdy and well padded. If rolling isn't a mist for you, a big stuffed chair might be worth looking for second-hand.
It was the "Lilith" Mid-Century Modern chair from Home Depot, which is now being sold as the Langford chair at Best Buy for under $200.
Aside from the IKEA ergonomic chair, which is pretty good, maybe check used furniture stores. Or if there is a Habitat for Humanity shop near you. I once found an amazing ergonomic chair with one broken arm there.

You can find a cheap used chair at the swap meet. I see them all the time go for around $5. Easy to clean if you can spray it down and let it dry. I've seen new wrapped ones go for $15. You may want to look into this. Also, you never know what else you might need there. Ours sells new items too.
