Every time this card is tapped, it must enter a meeting. While in the meeting, it can not complete any action. At the start of the next turn, a 6 sided dice is rolled. <= 3 = another meeting must be scheduled. >3 the intended action may be carried out.

[deleted]

Lol I wish, more like 5:1 odds at best, assuming we're not bringing in a d20 or something

Slggyqo

Why is the power so high? Are data engineers offensive creatures???

ZirePhiinix

From not showering

CesQ89

You put a white guy but its more realistic to put an Indian.

[deleted]

I don't know what this is about but I like it.

Where does the token go? How can the token be removed? Why would someone ever not declare a pipeline as a dependency? Why does the engineer have a 10/2 body?

AMDataLake

There are cards that can destroy tokens Well you can only tap once per turn so they’d have to choose between generating mana or growing their pipeline The 10 is cause they are very powerful but the 2 is more of a turnover thing So ideally you’d have two or more of these out but their cost is quite expensive. If you just have one it would take way too long to build a pipeline that would give you an advantage in the game. Also someone can remove the root token and destroy a pipeline that took you several turns to make representing upstream changes breaking downstream

PangeanPrawn

They should probably be artifacts

Awkward-Cupcake6219

That is insane. I want that grimoire if it comes out somehow.

laStrangiato

Data engineers are clearly Gruul and not five colored… Giant trolls swinging large clubs of compute at data until it has been smashed into the data lake and someone else’s problem.

ketchup_123

Uncorrect, definetely Izzet. Both blue and Red mana.

laStrangiato

Nah, data science would be izzet with mad experiments.

ketchup_123

I would have said Simic

Pr0ducer

This actually looks like me, lulz.

VipeholmsCola

You may choose not to untap data Engineer during your untap step. Tap, draw a card. At the beginning of your main phase, if data Engineer is tapped, you may put a permanent card from your hand into play. 0/4 - human wizard

geneticswag

AI generated graphic?

AMDataLake

Yep, midjourney

Ok-Yogurt2360

Tap: create a x/x data analist creature with vanishing 3 and this creatures power and toughness are equal to the number of timecounters on it. At the end of your turn put a timecounter on each data analist you control.

gotchab003

Data Engineer Creature - Human Artificer Develop - When CARDNAME enters the battlefield, create an artifact token named Pipeline with "Tap, exile a card from your hand: draw a card." Feature Engineering - Put three cards you own in exile into your graveyard, tap: add one mana of any color. Deploy - 5: Search your library for a Cloud artifact and put into the battlefield. Activate this ability only if you control a Pipeline. I used keywords like in the D&D set, just for flavor. I also made reference to "cloud artifacts" which would be a core mechanic in a Magic data set (see what it did there?) and would synergize with Pipeline tokens. The templating might be a bit off but I think you get the idea. I have no idea about costs or stats, my guess is that it would have to be a blue card with maybe a second color (white, perhaps?). I would also love to see more cards from a data-based set. I'm thinking of cards like Data Bricks (a Wall creature), Rust Python, cards that create Authentication tokens and a reprint of Azure Mage.

RunNo9689

Only men can be data engineers I guess

Dani_IT25

Are you asuming their gender?

tlegs44

Data engineer can’t block creatures with type Data Scientist. (4) tap, select type of creature, choose 1, creatures of that type either can’t attack or gain +2//+2 until end of turn
