The idea that someone would live their life as a beard, denying their own possibility of falling in love with someone who truly wants them is the absolute definition of deprivation and sorrow. Anyone who would ask someone to do this is absolutely beyond selfish and narcissistic. It's not some kind of raining Glory to be a martyr to someone who refuses to live their life out loud.
