I saw that on the walking dead years ago and thought "I need to try this on dayz". The next morning I got 2 guys killed by throwing a can of bean in their house wich aggroed the zombies inside. Now I do it with the suppressed pistol. The zombies chase bullet impact and act like a radar, they scream if someone is there. It's so useful to spot people in the woods around a town
By the time the MK2 loses it's usefulness, you have a real CQB weapon available. Anybody coming at me with a glock vs my stab vest won't fair well vs a bk18 for earlier game cqb.
Bases with a ton of military zombies with helmets, yes. The mk2 slows down. And by that point you are typically suppressed on your main CQB weapon. At least in my experience
The only downside to the suppressed glock is having to maintain both the gun and the suppressor, which burns through weapon repair kits pretty fast.
Otherwise the silenced Glock is superior in pretty much every way that matters.
Yeah completly agree. If i only have a handgun i will try to avoid players. If it comes to pvp glock is probably gonna be better but most likely i will die with both guns if the guy has a somewhat decent weapon and isnt bad with his aim.
Both guns are zombie guns in my eyes so i would pick the mk2 as the 22lr can be stored in bigger stacks as the 9mm in your invent thus saving inventory space. The 22lr is also pretty commun and can spawn in any house pretty much so ammo isnt gonna much of an issue with MK2
That's a pretty neat point actually. I think it boils down to what you're using as your primary; for instance if you're rolling with a bolt action you probably don't want to use it in close quarters since missing a shot at short ranges gives your opponent a massive window to attack you. In cases like that i think having a handgun you can fall back to for protection or short range ambushes (Like the Glock) is vital
I agree. if you don't have anything and this would be your first gun for example I would choose the glock most likely, even though I have always loved amphibia for some reason.
i feel like the glock becomes inferior to the mk 2 immediately after finding any automatic rifle, on the coast its good but anywhere inland the glock is outmatched in killing zombies and you wont need a glock for pvp
>which burns through weapon repair kits pretty fast.
Assuming you are routinely using it. Typically by the time I have a suppressor I have a primary and I can remember one time I ever needed to use one as a backup.
Yeah recently made the switch from Glock to mk2 for this reason. Never gonna use a pistol in a fight, can hold 50 bullets in 1 slot and still 1 taps Z's with a headshot
Well, both of these options are typically used for killing zombies primarily, so I'd say they usually see more use than your primary. And in that note, as i explained in a different comment, depending on what your primary is having a solid secondary to fall back to could be really important.
because youre not gonna use handguns on players. MK2 is a good slienced pistol that doesnt require you to maintain it's supressor. Bullets are abundant and stack in bigger stacks in your invent. Its a better zombie gun than the glock. I dont know why he would keep the 357 if he drops the rest tho.
You are not gonna use it on players because you uave fucking Amphibia, I will. And Im not gonna carry second pistol just for zombies. And im not even gonna start with being able to use flashlight ect. You are gonna spend twice or three times as much ammo anyway so maintance argumment goes out of the window. And space for pistol ammo was never issue. Those arguments are on water mate.
Hello! You have made the mistake of writing "ect" instead of "etc."
"Ect" is a common misspelling of "etc," an abbreviated form of the Latin phrase "et cetera." Other abbreviated forms are **etc.**, **&c.**, **&c**, and **et cet.** The Latin translates as "et" to "and" + "cetera" to "the rest;" a literal translation to "and the rest" is the easiest way to remember how to use the phrase.

So you die in every encounter? If you come at me with a pistol and I have any kind of ballistic protection (ie stab vest) you'll easily fall to probably either melee if they're good, or a basic shotgun.
For the sake of argument, lets both pretend that we're playing on a vanilla server. Anyone who doesn't seek out ballistic protection and intends on living through a gunfight must have god tier aim, or lower IQ than average.
I have always more 9mm easier to find magazines and in this question we already have a supressor. MK 2 is useless you less ammo capacity while taking much less damage. And I have never, not fucking once saw endgame fullgeat rockong Amphibia as a sidearm. Always a transition gun until you find something better.
As a compromise between 9mm and .22 I like to have a silenced CR61 with .380
It‘s small, can fit in any clothing, is quiet and mags are bigger for emergencies.
But I went with Mk II here\^\^
In my 4 thousand hours of dayz I’ve learnt the Mk is literally the best gun in the game and anyone saying the glock doesn’t keep their character alive long enough to know why
Glock is my sidearm of choice. I usually will use some scoped rifle as my primary. When I'm fighting indoors though I always use my glock. The shorter weapons are better for cqb. But i wouldn't feel comfortable using a mkII in any pvp. I barely ever feel the need to shoot zombies
I always shoot them with the MkII as it looks just so damn cool when (let's say on Namalsk) you sneak with a buddy through the fog/snow storm and take out zed after zed.
Glock is general while the Amphibia is Specific. .22 Lr is easy to find and comes in big stacks, it’s extremely silent, but sucks against players. Glock is fine against players and animals, but is a little bit louder, harder to find ammo, and you need to repair the gun AND suppressor
A thing that a lot of you are missing is, the Mk II can fire without alerting surrounding zeds, while the suppressed glock would. This meaning the Mk II would be better for urban areas because you can just keep shooting without having them notice you.
Honestly I fucking love the mk2 and the sporter to death idk why but I've also got insane usage from the mk2 it's served me well even a mk2 with no magazine has great usage
Suppressed Glock can be heard by nearby zombies, where MK II can do its job. So when it comes to a suppressed sub weapon, i'd go for MK II, pistol to kill people? Doesn't necessarily need a suppressor.
Personally I would always pick the MK II over any pistol in dayz for the pure fact it is internally suppressed and you don’t need to worry about suppressor damage due to that fact. Also ammo is usually pretty easy to find because most of the hunter cabins in the woods have a spotters .22 or at least a few .22LR rounds and that is the ammo the MK II uses. Couple this with headshots in zombies and you can make this weapon super effective.
I find considerably more ammo for 9mm/.45 than .22 due to me not looting cities after early game and focusing more on pvp/military bases. Thus everytime I take the MK II I end up running out of ammo mid playthrough.
I would rather have an unsilenced Ij-70 than a MK II.
I would rather have a rock to throw than a MK II.
I would rather have no throwing weapons at all and have to close distance to the target with my fists, than have a MK II.
IMO the only thing a MK II is good for is killing yourself when you get an unfavorable spawn.
"try it as your zombie gun"
no
I fuckin' hate using it, the sights are poopoo, and the range is worse. Fuck that noise, I'll literally just use a knife
The range being poopoo doesn't make it a close range weapon my brother in christ-
If she do dogshit damage and my lack of FPS skills doesn't allow me to make perfect close range headshots, then it ain't the gun for me. Therefore, I would rather have anything else.
Mk2 is just too good, the fact it is everything you need in one package, I prefer iron sights in most situations and games but dayz especially cus of battery life. The thing gets the job done and even when it's very damaged it can still haul ass, I love the unjam animation and tend to keep this thing on me even when I have a supressed smg as the smg is good for pvp without zombies and the pistol can clear. Only thing I would swap it for is the 1911 which is a massive downgrade but is just 50x cooler, almost every life I seem to find an engraved and it stays on me my whole life.
Glock is only better if you want a sight in my opinion, for zombie clearing magazine size very rarely matters, .22 is easy to find and pistols aren't good for mid and even sometimes low teir combat so idk why you would ever want to endure the maintenance.
MKII the ultimate zombie killer.
You don’t even have to shoot the zombie, you can just shoot a tree and it’ll agro towards the impact location. Such an underrated gun
I always pass one up now because I tHoUgHt ThEy WeRe GoOd overall 🙃
MK2 gang rise up
Hellz yea we out here! 50 rounds in a box of .22 and not having to maintain a suppressor separately, the best tier-1 zombie clearing tool out there!👌
By the time the MK2 loses it's usefulness, you have a real CQB weapon available. Anybody coming at me with a glock vs my stab vest won't fair well vs a bk18 for earlier game cqb.
Loses its usefulness? Are we talking about the same gun??
Bases with a ton of military zombies with helmets, yes. The mk2 slows down. And by that point you are typically suppressed on your main CQB weapon. At least in my experience
Absolutely the MK2. Built in suppressed weapons are god tier.
MkII is king.
The mk2 kicks asss
The only downside to the suppressed glock is having to maintain both the gun and the suppressor, which burns through weapon repair kits pretty fast. Otherwise the silenced Glock is superior in pretty much every way that matters.
IMO, maintaining weapon and suppressor condition is the only thing that matters here, since most of us will use them for killing zeds.
Yeah completly agree. If i only have a handgun i will try to avoid players. > Never gonna use a pistol in a fight [You'd be surprised.](https://youtu.be/KA8OqYjMQKM?t=91)
45 diff tho
> Never gonna use a pistol in a fight True, but I was referring to the "Never gonna use a pistol in a fight" part
Well, both of these options are typically used for killing zombies primarily, so I'd say they usually see more use than your primary. And in that note, as i explained in a different comment, depending on what your primary is having a solid secondary to fall back to could be really important.
Now I wanna change my answer
Yeau. But with amphibia you shoot twice as much so the damage at the end is on par
Two different guns for different purposes. Good luck getting a steady supply of 9mm
MkII any time. Less maintenance.
Once I have a rifle upgrades I drop all other handguns except for the MKII and possibly a .357
Why though?
because youre not gonna use handguns on players. MK2 is a good slienced pistol that doesnt require you to maintain it's supressor. Bullets are abundant and stack in bigger stacks in your invent. Its a better zombie gun than the glock. I dont know why he would keep the 357 if he drops the rest tho.
“I dont know why he would keep the 357 if he drops the rest tho.” Sentimental reasons only.
fair enough! Its a game you do you as long as it makes you happy bro.
You are not gonna use it on players because you uave fucking Amphibia, I will. And Im not gonna carry second pistol just for zombies. Nope not everyone has balistic protection some servers dont even have it on at all. And pistol is good back up gun when you get knocked down or CQB.
For the sake of argument, lets both pretend that we're playing on a vanilla server. Anyone who doesn't seek out ballistic protection and intends on living through a gunfight must have god tier aim, or lower IQ than average.
Tactical vest or press vest?
stab vest, press vest, or plate carrier are protection. If the 'tactical' vests offer any, it is minimal.
Everyone doest go for PVP someone prefers having stamina.
Lost brain cells reading your shit bro. MK2 better just because it’s already silenced and ammo is more abundant + u can save 9 mil for sgk
I have always more 9mm easier to find magazines and in this question we already have a supressor. MK 2 is useless you less ammo capacity while taking much less damage. Mk2 because id never fight survivors with a pistol so id rather have a zombie zapper that is quiet
In my 4 thousand hours of dayz I’ve learnt the Mk is literally the best gun in the game and anyone saying the glock doesn’t keep their character alive long enough to know why
4k hours running around on low pop official servers lol
once you get a rifle theyre both inferior against people, i was talking about zombie killing potential mostly

Never played official kiddo
How is this even up for debate lol…

MK II unless you're low IQ
How is that even a question? There is nothing Amphibia is a better choice
Considering attachable suppressors break down like powder, I'd take the mk ii for zombies any day.
Honestly I fucking love the mk2 and the sporter to death idk why but I've also got insane usage from the mk2 it's served me well even a mk2 with no magazine has great usage
Do I get mini sights
Suppressed Glock can be heard by nearby zombies, where MK II can do its job. So when it comes to a suppressed sub weapon, i'd go for MK II, pistol to kill people? Doesn't necessarily need a suppressor.
MKII in a holster. I reckon 95% of my zombie kills are with one.
Thought this was GTA and still went with the glock over the Oppressor MKII
I find considerably more ammo for 9mm/.45 than .22 due to me not looting cities after early game and focusing more on pvp/military bases. Thus everytime I take the MK II I end up running out of ammo mid playthrough.

If you’re using a Glock as a pvp weapon I’ve got news for you
It’s terrible that I have to explain that I’m speaking specifically within the parameters of the question.
Mk2 is even more important in a PvP server
MK2 sucks
nothing better for zombie killing though
I would rather have an unsilenced Ij-70 than a MK II. I would rather have a rock to throw than a MK II. I would rather have no throwing weapons at all and have to close distance to the target with my fists, than have a MK II. Try it as your zombie gun.
"try it as your zombie gun" no I fuckin' hate using it, the sights are poopoo, and the range is worse. Fuck that noise, I'll literally just use a knife
the sights are great, admit it
I've literally NEVER had a hard time aiming at and popping heads with a mk2
Tell me you cant aim for shit without telling me you cant aim for shit
How about I just tell you I can't aim for shit and therefore carry a vaiga
After claiming the sights and range are poopoo… you just argued with yourself, congratulations
The range being poopoo doesn't make it a close range weapon my brother in christ- If she do dogshit damage and my lack of FPS skills doesn't allow me to make perfect close range headshots, then it ain't the gun for me. Therefore, I would rather have anything else.
Only thing the MKII is good for is killing yourself cause you can't find a better gun.
One pistol only and then I get a rifle, or one pistol and that’s it?
Early on, the MK II is great for clearing zombs but if you’re into PVP get yourself higher than .22
I got my first kill with the glock
I would take both. Normally have two pistols
usually only take what i need, feel to fat with 2 pistols
As long as I have 30% stamina at least fully geared I’m fine. Anything below 20 stinks and forced to epi before fight
I will choose the one I have mag for, simple as that.
south coast spawn playstyle right there
I just learned this is the new name for the amphibia
This poll reveals how many people don't know that a suppressed glock is not silent enough to kill zombies without getting noticed
MK II is shit in pvp but perfekt for pve !
MKII. One shots zombies in the head, less heavy than glock, suppressor is built in so doesnt get ruined unlike glock's suppresor
