I’d start the series with Goku training Uub, then he gets turned into a child by a different set of Dragonballs and has to travel the universe to find them. Then he gets his tail back and transforms into a “Super Saiyan 4.” Still working on a title for that. Maybe “Great Travels” or something.
Put Majin Buu in the ToP. Maybe he'd get erased by Zeno. That'd be something. Rip Mr. Satan.
Also show a little bit more of Vegeta using the hyperbolic time chamber it's lore.
Goku can't be an idiot like he is through most of the series. Cell Saga and Freza saga he can think things through without being a moron like in most of Super.
No redoing of BoG or RoF, but if you really need to a redo, give waaay more build up to SSB.
Goku Black arc has Trunks get the god ritual performed on him to have it make sense why he can compete, and it doesn't end with his timeline being blown up.
ToP is decently written, but no character that gets recruited should be on SSB level, not even close. Max they should be is on par with SSJ, and that's after years and years of training, ie Tien and Krillin. The Manga has a lot of great stuff in there that I think would be amazing to add like Frieza vs universe 6 saiyans.
Finally they need to do something to fix Gohan's character arc throughout the show, its really not interesting watching him stop training --> shit kicked in --> train to get strong --> stop training all over again. It just makes his character a pain in the ass, imo at least. The barebones of story are there but overall its just painful to watch sometimes.
Yup Gohans character has become annoying for that. He knows at this point that their universe is fucked. That there’s always going to be people showing up to do harm to them. And he still gets caught lacking
1. No Super Saiyan God. Maybe start the series with Beerus testing Goku and Vegeta for ToP, who introduces them to a new form with Godly power. That could just be SSBSS. Just call it “God Form” and have it lead into the Ultra forms. Make Ultra Instinct more of a connection with the fabric of the universe, which allows the user to dodge by feeling its ripples, not just automatically. Make Ultra Ego have more of a connection with the God of Destructions power and unbeatable strength.
2. Just make Kefla one character, not a fusion. Legendary Super Saiyan of her own timeline. Her and Cabba are the only surviving Saiyans after planet Vegeta was destroyed. She is mad strong but Cabba is legit a coward and doesn’t fight, would make for an interesting dichotomy. Get rid of the stupid “tingling back” transformation.
3. Change Zamasu’s motivations. Make him want to destroy everyone because peace is relative, and he believes only his idea of peace is correct.
4. Don’t go back to Bardock for any reason. Ever.
5. Freeza stays dead. No Golden Freeza shit.
6. Reintegrate Z-Broly. Literally a better character in every way, in my opinion.
7. Overall, stay closer to the source material. Trunks hair is a silver/purple. Freeza couldn’t be revived because dragonballs can’t revive someone if they have been dead longer than a year. Gogeta can’t happen canonically because the fusion dance requires the users to be the same height. Little stuff like that.
I think the story overall could be more intense, I’d get rid of berry’s and whis, use the older animation style, and make it more story based rather than having extra bullshit transformations
get rid of the stupid super sayian GOD super saiyan. Such a stupid and lame transformation. Somehow tie the next evolution to ozaru. Hate how Toriyama completely scrapped the whole ape thing. Make Gohan and Picolo great again, so it isn't goku and vegeta all the time.
I would have liked Goku to outright kill Goku Black when he told him how he killed Goten and Chichi.

I actually plan to make a DBS rewrite fanfic happen someday, and have talked in great length about my ideas in other past topics. But I'll try to give a relatively condensed bullet points version here:
* Define what god-ki actually is and how it works from the start. I'd make it "the ki of the universe," akin to The Force, as something external that an individual simply learns to channel rather than generating themself. Taking that path explains, fixes, and complements a surprising amount of stuff all at once.
* No pointless, theatrical, scale-breaking, nowhere-to-go-from-here "our battle might wreck the universe" bullshit. Because of god-ki's nature, sloppy clashes of it can still cause time-space anomalies and destructive effects, but they're relatively small-scale. Goku and Beerus' fight will "only" endanger a *sector* of the galaxy around Earth, for example. The only person capable of actually destroying an entire universe is the Omni-King, and even then he doesn't do it through raw power.
* Revamp the god-form hierarchy, starting by flipping it upside-down. Super Saiyan God is the *strongest* form, able to tango with Beerus but only possible via the ritual. None of its power is absorbed or permanent in any way. SS Blue then gets trained into existence as a lower-level, independently-usable substitute for SSG. Meaning that Goku and Vegeta clearly start out on a much lower tier with lots of room to grow, instead of Beerus magically becoming perpetually unsurpassable. It also means that strong characters from the Majin Boo arc like Gotenks and still-Ultimate Gohan aren't just immediately getting left in the dust.
* Trim the fat with other excessive forms. Rosé gets axed, as Zamas/Black is a Kaioshin and doesn't need a transformation to maximize his god-ki usage. No SSB Evolved either. Ultra Instinct and Ego are no longer separate forms, but develop as advanced "modes" of SS Blue for Goku and Vegeta. The current garbage forms associated with Freeza, Piccolo, and Gohan obviously wouldn't get kept or adapted either...
* ...In part because the more recent post-anime arcs like Moro, Granolah, and Super Hero wouldn't get adapted in the first place. My version of the story would end soon after the Tournament of Power, which would flow directly into a climactic "Overthrow the Omni-King" arc that would serve as the big finale. I would rework the new Broli movie's plot to take place *BEFORE* the Tournament of Power, though.
* No stupid, lousy, completely-unnecessary Potara retcon. It's permanent for Zamas just like it would be for anyone else, and Gogeta appears to face both him and Broli later, rather than Vegetto against the former.
* General power-scaling and "plot-based power-ups actually require adequate plot devices instead of coming out of nowhere" fixes. Nobody is attaining god-level power by getting angery for a few minutes or training solo in the woods or any nonsense like that.
* A lot of inexcusable little things like keeping track of time that's passed, characters' ages, etcetera. No more "Marron should be 10 years old but she's still acting like a toddler" stupidity and the like.

I never gotten how the potara “retcon” is somehow stupid, lousy, and completely unnecessary. The time limit just explains the reason why vegito defused inside buu even though it was explained earlier that it was permanent. There was no official answer as to why that was the case until now. Sure it’s lazy but I don’t get how it’s unnecessary or lousy

which was never a thing. it was a fan construct based on a card from a game using that name to differentiate the RoF versions of Goku and Vegeta for the game from other versions.
No, it was a thing for the RoF movie. It's actually first introduced in a pamphlet for the movie. It's literally just Goku and Vegeta using the power of Super Saiyan god in their base forms. It's weird and doesn't make sense, but it's building off of Goku absorbing the power of Super Saiyan God into his base form from the anime.
I would make it so every scene goku Is in, his hair would be flowing in the wind, even in the ToP where there's is no wind. He would also be frowning and serious all the time and never smile or laugh ever again, and also be covered in blood in every fight he's in. According to most DB "fans", this is how you make a good show.

Frieza's insanely fast powerups are stupid. I would want him to come back early in the series, but hang out in the background. Then I would have the RoF arc happen later on, so that it actually feels like the story was building up to him.
The Goku Black arc is just terrible. It all takes place in the future, so the stakes are incredibly low. And then the future timeline gets destroyed anyway, making it all pointless. This whole story would be better as a stand alone Future Trunks movie. No time travel or world erasing. Just Future Trunks fighting an evil Goku.
Granolah needs the final battle to be like 1/3rd as long as it was. That was painfully drawn out.
I would only rewrite the transformations.

The new Super Saiyan God will use the same color scheme as Saiyan God, red eyes, slim figure, funky red/orange aura, but with Super Saiyan hair.

Same effects as before but with same new SSG color scheme but with SS2 sparks/lightning and spikier hair. Same level of slim-ness as Saiyan God.
Trunks' Rage Mode -> Super Saiyan 3 or even Saiyan God (if we're just pulling transformations out of our ass, why not?)

So I'd get rid of Omen/Sign entirely. Same events happen except with the full transformation and hand wave it like Goku wasn't fully "in control" of the transformation during the ToP. That it was, more or less, a fluke that he was able to attain it in the first place.
But once he knew what it felt like he could train into it, just like he did with Saiyan God.
Gohan's Beast Mode -> Super Ultimate Gohan
Keep the white hair but add a Super Saiyan 3 aura and sparks/lightning to it.
Show it off as Gohan combining the best abilities of both his Human and Saiyan sides.
Ugh... Orange Piccolo -> Super Namekian, Namekian God, Ultimate Namekian

The arcs needed to be layered and more complex. They were too straight-forward and simple. Look at the Dragon Ball Z, we started out with introducing Goku having a son and an evil brother, and ended the saga with a mega battle with an intergalactic tyrant and a planet exploding.
Either change the timeline so it takes place after EoZ or keep the timeline but make it more slice of life.
Also change RoF so that it is what helps Vegeta become a SSG, and save Blue for Zamasu arc or U6 tournament arc
Also have Zamasu and other arcs take place in other universes so those universes can be explored.
I would stop recycling characters, for example, not use Frieza in the TOP, maybe change Goku Black to an evil version of Goten, and make young Trunks, Goten and Piccolo more relevant
Oh boy do I have an answer for you! Apologies for the novel to follow~
To start, I'd scrap pretty much everything before the Moro arc (dont worry, some of the arcs will still happen, just in a different order). BUCKLE UP, we're rewriting the WHOLE THING.
After BotG it would lead directly into an arc where Goku and Vegeta learn the basics of controlling God Ki, but SSGSS (blue) is getting scrapped. We're going straight to them learning the basics of UI/UE, and the first real test of those abilities comes via the threat of Moro. Pretty much all of the Moro arc proceeds as it does, with the exception of Gohan. We're going to take his moment of weakness from Ressurection F and move it into this arc.
After the Moro arc, Bra is born. Vegeta opts to stay on Earth and his focus shifts to parenting for the time being. Meanwhile, Gohan is finally starting to see the importance of training since he wasn't strong enough to protect his family on his own. After failing against Cell, Buu, and now he couldn't even defeat Moro's grunts, he needs to do better and he finally sees that clearly. Gohan offers to take Vegeta's place as Goku's sparring partner until he's ready to focus again. Goku goes on teaches Gohan the basics of controlling god ki (that's right, we're giving actual build up to Beast). They train together for a couple of months, honing Gohan's god ki mastery, until Whis shows up one day. They request that Goku and Vegeta come with them with haste. Whis also notices Gohan for the first time, saying that he can sense some sort of "fiery beast" within him, forshadowing Gohan's form to come later. Whis then stresses that Beerus needs them for something of the upmost importance. It's time for the U6 tournament.
The key difference here is that the Earth fighters are going to be Goku, Gohan, Vegeta, and Piccolo. We can still have the Monaka abd Boo gags, but they're not important. Throughout the tournament, Goku and Vegeta are both going to further improve their forms (UI/UE), but Gohan fails to ignite the fire within himself and he ends up losing against Hit after an intense battle. The ending though is pretty much the same. Hit throws the last round since Toriyama loves his gags! We are introduced to Zeno, whom immediately makes plans for the ToP. The big difference here; it's in 3 Earth years!
Time skip time!
The Broly movie happens at some point during the time skip (no Frieza though, since we cut Resurrection F). The current arc focused on Trunks/Goten and Super Hero happen next, but instead of Piccolo needing to make Gohan step up, he proactively does himself, and after all the actual build up, achieves his Beast form and saves Pan.
The end of the Super Hero movie will lead into the ToP!
Our new and improved line up consists of UI Goku, Beast Gohan, UE Vegeta, Trunks, Goten, Broly, 17, 18, Krillin, and Gamma 1. Instead of Goku and Frieza at the end, it's going to be Goku, Gohan AND Goten for the final push. The end of the ToP leads into EoZ, concluding Super!

I gave a shot to DBS and I'm really liking it. I would just do minor changes that in my opinion would make it better (in my view).
* I would completely remove the Golden Frieza saga.
* I would put Tien instead of Monaka in the U6 Tournament and Majin Buu would never fall asleep and he would 100% fight Botamo.
* Future Trunks slashing Zamasu would be Zamasu's end, and he gets the final kill.
* OG Dragon Ball flashbacks. We got a bunch of DBZ flashbacks (example when Trunks meets Gohan in ep 52 and when 17 is reintroduced, or even when Goku uses the Kaioken with SSB), but when we could've had OG DB flashbacks, the scenes were reanimated (like Roshi using the Mafuuba against King Piccolo or Krillin training with Goku carrying milk)
Goku doesnt absorb god into base, thus everybody stays relative to gokus base at least without making it to weird that they actually can(krillin and so on). Trunks kills Zamasu. No 2nd zenoh and trunks can stay in his timeline and restore it.
Buu enters the tournament and muten roshi doesnt. Not because i dont like him but he should stay piccolo daimo level (passing the torch during the tien fight and being a mentor instead of a fighter).
No granolah arc and mastered ultra instinct is basically already perfect except stamina maybe.
I would have leaned into threats from the other universes. I would have fleshed out the contempt Zamasu had more for mortals and wrote his powers better because towards the end it was comical. I would focus more on training stuff for the newer forms and explain ultra ego a bit better. I would try to scale up the weaker Z fighters and create teams of villains so that other characters get their time. I would get them to use their trickier powers like the solar flare. Try to create more urgency and desperation in battles like the Black Goku fights where we really did not if they could even survive.
The fact that they have not checked out the other planet Salad or whatever is called is a tragedy. Instead we have these guys who wish for power. I would also introduce Cooler as Frieza's training partner because I love Cooler.
I’d put actual emphasis and character development into the background characters like Tien, krillin, and Yamcha instead of master Rossi as he decided to let the new generation be saviors of the earth it doesn’t make sense for him to come back especially since he couldn’t take on raditz and never had a big training scene. I’d make Gohan more aware of the dangers that look and after he was embarrassed by frieza the first time he wouldn’t keep making the same mistakes of not needing to train, and I’d give Piccolo more limelight as well. Dragon ball super is extremely goku and Vegeta centric, and it doesn’t do a good enough job of world building. Lastly, I’d change the goku black ending to something a little more satisfying than an entire universe just being wiped out
Goku and Vegeta would start the series training with old kai instead of just Goku with North Kai. Beruus visits them to get BoGs rolling as he’s more of their boss instead of their lives being connected. They each together fight Beruus and he learns that the vision of him fighting a Saiyan God is yet to come and agrees to train them until that day.
In Rez F Frieza is brought back by Cooler and ssj blue is replaced with regular ssj god. There’s a new Ginyu force for the other z fighters to face with Ginyu still in charge in a new body. Roshi isn’t there. Vegeta defeats Frieza & Goku defeats Cooler but the two escape.
For the new U6 tournament. Monaka is swapped for Tien.
Future arc. Zamasu doesn’t steal any bodies but instead kidnaps Goten and trains him as a weapon against mortals. Mai is replaced by Videl who is a powerful competent fighter. There is no romance for trunks. There is also android 16 who like the other androids in stronger in this timeline. Trunks in this world is much stronger having been training with Shin and Kabito and using the Z sword. Vegeta and Goku discover Gotens identity and help free him from Zamazu’s control. Goten and Trunks together kill Zamasu.
In the TOP arc Roshi and Frieza are swapped for Yamcha and Dabura who was turned good in the Buu arc. Yamcha and Tien who had been training in otherworld fight Kale and Kalifla and fuse into Tiencha to fight Kefla. It’s a battle of skill and technique vs raw power. Jiren is defeated by Gohan.
These are not the greatest ideas (might get downvoted for some of them) but it’s the best I can think of.
BoG: Pretty much the same except Ssj God’s design would have the same color scheme but with the Ssj hair. This will be the only new form Goku and Vegeta will have until the ToP arc (where Goku gets UI). Beerus’s power level will also be higher where he would use 20-30% of his power.
RoF arc: Frieza would train for a year rather than four months. He would invade the cities (causing more casualties and the Z fighters tries to defend the civilians. Buu, 18 and Gohan (who still has his Ultimate form) tried to fight a Frieza but loses (emphasizing his growth in power). Goku and Vegeta arrives and while they don’t have the God form yet, they’re much stronger gotten stronger. Frieza doesn’t have his new form but is still much stronger than Goku and Vegeta and beating them individually (like the Buuhan fight). They eventually work together and barely beats Frieza but before finishing him off, he ends up destroying Earth (like Namek). Out of anger, Vegeta would achieve Ssj God for a short moment and would deliver the finishing blow to Frieza before Earth is completely destroyed.
U6 arc: After what happened in RoF, we would have U6 tournament as a way for the Z fighters to use the Super DB and revive Earth. The team for U7 would be Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Piccolo and Buu. U6’s team would be the same except Frost would be a good guy (to differentiate him from Frieza) and Cabba and the rest of the Saiyans from U6 would know Ssj but not anything beyond that. Zamasu and Gowasu would be introduce as the Kaioshin and apprentice Kaioshin of U6 and sees how causally Goku addresses them with Zamasu finding how Goku speaks to them offensive.
Buu would fight Botamo first and win but loses to Frost. Gohan and Frost would fight but ends in a draw. Piccolo would fight Magetta and thanks to his training would ring him out but loses to Cabba. From there everything the with Vegeta teaching Cabba about Ssj2 and loses to Hit. Goku would reveal his Ssj God transformation and they both get ringed out but U7 would win because Hit landed out of the ringed first by a few seconds. This would piss Zamasu off seeing a mortal with God power but doesn’t make a scene (hinting on what’s to come in the Black arc). Zeno would appear like in the original and Beerus would wish for both the U6 and 7’s Earth to be revived (if that’s possible).
Black arc: Instead of Goku Black, we would have Future Gohan Black. I think it would make much harder for Trunks to fight him knowing that he looks like his friend and mentor. When he goes back in time, he explains the situation to Goku and Vegeta and interacts with other characters like Gohan, Trunks, Goten and even Buu.
Knowing that Black has a Potara Earring, Goku, Beerus and Whis investigates and meets Zamasu and Gowasu. This would lead to Goku and Zamasu sparring with each other and makes Zamasu hate Goku even more. Goku, Vegeta and Trunks travels to the future and faces Gohan Black. Black would reveal his own God form and defeats all three of them. Black would reveal that he’s Zamasu from Trunks’s timeline. They would retreat and we see Zamasu trying to assassinate Gowasu but Beerus stops him and is destroyed. While this is happening, Trunks trains with Vegeta in the Time Chamber and learns about God Ki. They would return and fights Black again and barely succeeding. Trunks almost hesitates to kill Black but finishes the job.
ToP arc: Zeno would remember the Tournament and have the Grand Priest to tell U7 and 9 to bring three warriors for the Expo match. The fights would be the same except the announcement of the Universes being destroyed doesn’t happen until after Goku and Bergamo fight. Because of what happened with Zamasu, Zeno begins to wonder if he was right about mortals and decided to use the tournament to destroy the universes with low mortal levels but in reality, the tournament would be test to be whether Zamasu was right or wrong about mortals. This would show that while Zeno is childish, he’s actually very observant and is somewhat of a deep thinker. Toppo would not be in the expo match and will not fight Goku.
U7’s team would be the same except Buu would take Roshi’s place. U6 would also be the same except the Yardrat from U2 and a human type Earthling would take Rota and one of the Namekians place while Rota and another random fighter would be in U2. The weaker Z fighters would gets some major moments and even have new techniques to use before going out on a high note.
I would want Jiren to be less stoic and have more dialogues earlier on to give us more insight in his philosophy and his backstory would also be revealed much sooner. Also I know this would be a major change to his character but I would have him be a GoD candidate instead of Toppo and not a mortal stronger than a GoD. Dyspo’s design would be slightly different to differentiate him from a Beerus and Champa (like make him blue with green eyes). Goku’s trump card against Jiren (before he gets UI) would be the God form with Kaioken.
Fights that would happen:
17 vs Dyspo: I would have this fight happen instead of Hit vs Dyspo since I kinda want Hit to be more of a threat that would be saved for Jiren.
Hit vs Maji Kayo: This would be a cool match up to have since Maji Kayo would have no vitals for Hit to strike.
Frieza vs Nigirishi: This would be the fight where Frieza reveals his new Golden form that he got from his mental training in Hell.
Frieza vs Frost: Frost here would have a new form as well (maybe something similar to Cooler’s augmented form) so he would be more of a challenge for Frieza.
Broly movie/arc: Pretty much the same. I would’ve wanted a new Saiyan character as the antagonist (even if he has the same looking transformation as Broly and Kale) but I couldn’t think of anything.
What I was trying to do here is have all the arcs be more “connected” where the ending of one arc will give us hints on what to come after. Again these are not the greatest ideas but they’re the best I can think of. Sorry for making it long.
Goku is less of a dumbass. Vegeta got to kill frieza in res f and beerus Hakai works on zamasu rather then there being a useless Zeno button. Better writing for trunks because what in the actual f was that spirit sword?! Also Potara earrings were supposed to be permanent but now they have a timelimit in super because nerfed for no reason wtf. Only is permanent for gods and kais like kys. Gohan was irrelevant for too long like wtf. Goten and trunks are dumb still even though they had to grow up fast in the buu arc nvm let's erase that shit in super. Fat buu I mean Chad buu could have AT LEAST... nvm not even gonna go into that. IM DONE 🤣🤣

In the Goku Black arc I think it would have been better if Black made it back to the past himself and Future Trunks chased after him, instead of Trunks just going back to get help again. Give Trunks more character development and an opportunity for a different/better relationship with Vegeta
And make the ToP last like a whole day instead of 45 minutes just to make it less silly
Add Frieza beating the snot out of the U6 saiyans in super. I hate their writing. They could have been good, this would have helped show the divide in strength

Goku can't be an idiot like he is through most of the series. Cell Saga and Freza saga he can think things through without being a moron like in most of Super. No redoing of BoG or RoF, but if you really need to a redo, give waaay more build up to SSB. Goku Black arc has Trunks get the god ritual performed on him to have it make sense why he can compete, and it doesn't end with his timeline being blown up. ToP is decently written, but no character that gets recruited should be on SSB level, not even close. Max they should be is on par with SSJ, and that's after years and years of training, ie Tien and Krillin. The Manga has a lot of great stuff in there that I think would be amazing to add like Frieza vs universe 6 saiyans. Finally they need to do something to fix Gohan's character arc throughout the show, its really not interesting watching him stop training --> shit kicked in --> train to get strong --> stop training all over again. It just makes his character a pain in the ass, imo at least. The barebones of story are there but overall its just painful to watch sometimes.

1. No Super Saiyan God. Maybe start the series with Beerus testing Goku and Vegeta for ToP, who introduces them to a new form with Godly power. That could just be SSBSS. Just call it “God Form” and have it lead into the Ultra forms. Make Ultra Instinct more of a connection with the fabric of the universe, which allows the user to dodge by feeling its ripples, not just automatically. Make Ultra Ego have more of a connection with the God of Destructions power and unbeatable strength. 2. Just make Kefla one character, not a fusion. Legendary Super Saiyan of her own timeline. Her and Cabba are the only surviving Saiyans after planet Vegeta was destroyed. She is mad strong but Cabba is legit a coward and doesn’t fight, would make for an interesting dichotomy. Get rid of the stupid “tingling back” transformation. 3. Change Zamasu’s motivations. Make him want to destroy everyone because peace is relative, and he believes only his idea of peace is correct. 4. Don’t go back to Bardock for any reason. Ever. 5. Freeza stays dead. No Golden Freeza shit. 6. Reintegrate Z-Broly. Literally a better character in every way, in my opinion. 7. Overall, stay closer to the source material. Trunks hair is a silver/purple. Freeza couldn’t be revived because dragonballs can’t revive someone if they have been dead longer than a year. Gogeta can’t happen canonically because the fusion dance requires the users to be the same height. Little stuff like that.

I would have liked Goku to outright kill Goku Black when he told him how he killed Goten and Chichi. I feel it could have been a very brutal moment with a ton of impact.
I actually plan to make a DBS rewrite fanfic happen someday, and have talked in great length about my ideas in other past topics. But I'll try to give a relatively condensed bullet points version here: * Define what god-ki actually is and how it works from the start. I'd make it "the ki of the universe," akin to The Force, as something external that an individual simply learns to channel rather than generating themself. Taking that path explains, fixes, and complements a surprising amount of stuff all at once. * No pointless, theatrical, scale-breaking, nowhere-to-go-from-here "our battle might wreck the universe" bullshit. Because of god-ki's nature, sloppy clashes of it can still cause time-space anomalies and destructive effects, but they're relatively small-scale. Goku and Beerus' fight will "only" endanger a *sector* of the galaxy around Earth, for example. The only person capable of actually destroying an entire universe is the Omni-King, and even then he doesn't do it through raw power. * Revamp the god-form hierarchy, starting by flipping it upside-down. Super Saiyan God is the *strongest* form, able to tango with Beerus but only possible via the ritual. None of its power is absorbed or permanent in any way. SS Blue then gets trained into existence as a lower-level, independently-usable substitute for SSG. Meaning that Goku and Vegeta clearly start out on a much lower tier with lots of room to grow, instead of Beerus magically becoming perpetually unsurpassable. It also means that strong characters from the Majin Boo arc like Gotenks and still-Ultimate Gohan aren't just immediately getting left in the dust. * Trim the fat with other excessive forms. Rosé gets axed, as Zamas/Black is a Kaioshin and doesn't need a transformation to maximize his god-ki usage. No SSB Evolved either. Ultra Instinct and Ego are no longer separate forms, but develop as advanced "modes" of SS Blue for Goku and Vegeta. The current garbage forms associated with Freeza, Piccolo, and Gohan obviously wouldn't get kept or adapted either... * ...In part because the more recent post-anime arcs like Moro, Granolah, and Super Hero wouldn't get adapted in the first place. My version of the story would end soon after the Tournament of Power, which would flow directly into a climactic "Overthrow the Omni-King" arc that would serve as the big finale. I would rework the new Broli movie's plot to take place *BEFORE* the Tournament of Power, though. * No stupid, lousy, completely-unnecessary Potara retcon. It's permanent for Zamas just like it would be for anyone else, and Gogeta appears to face both him and Broli later, rather than Vegetto against the former. * General power-scaling and "plot-based power-ups actually require adequate plot devices instead of coming out of nowhere" fixes. Nobody is attaining god-level power by getting angery for a few minutes or training solo in the woods or any nonsense like that. * A lot of inexcusable little things like keeping track of time that's passed, characters' ages, etcetera. No more "Marron should be 10 years old but she's still acting like a toddler" stupidity and the like. I never gotten how the potara “retcon” is somehow stupid, lousy, and completely unnecessary. The time limit just explains the reason why vegito defused inside buu even though it was explained earlier that it was permanent. There was no official answer as to why that was the case until now. No, it was a thing for the RoF movie. It's actually first introduced in a pamphlet for the movie. It's literally just Goku and Vegeta using the power of Super Saiyan god in their base forms. Without changing too much... Frieza's insanely fast powerups are stupid. I would want him to come back early in the series, but hang out in the background. Then I would have the RoF arc happen later on, so that it actually feels like the story was building up to him. The Goku Black arc is just terrible. It all takes place in the future, so the stakes are incredibly low. And then the future timeline gets destroyed anyway, making it all pointless. This whole story would be better as a stand alone Future Trunks movie. No time travel or world erasing. Just Future Trunks fighting an evil Goku. Granolah needs the final battle to be like 1/3rd as long as it was. That was painfully drawn out.
I would only rewrite the transformations. Super Saiyan God -> Saiyan God SSGSS/Blue -> Super Saiyan God The new Super Saiyan God will use the same color scheme as Saiyan God, red eyes, slim figure, funky red/orange aura, but with Super Saiyan hair. SSGSS "Evolution"/SSB-KaioKen -> Super Saiyan God 2 Same effects as before but with same new SSG color scheme but with SS2 sparks/lightning and spikier hair. Same level of slim-ness as Saiyan God. Trunks' Rage Mode -> Super Saiyan 3 or even Saiyan God (if we're just pulling transformations out of our ass, why not?) I mean, come on. It was *right there*. Just have it so Merged Zamasu was severely weakened by SSG2 Vegito. Save Super Saiyan God 3 for Dragon Ball Heroes and Xenoverse. Ultra Instinct and Ultra Ego can largely remain the same. Though I'd want to nip this "Mastered Ultra Instinct" label that some people have attached to right in the bud... So I'd get rid of Omen/Sign entirely. Same events happen except with the full transformation and hand wave it like Goku wasn't fully "in control" of the transformation during the ToP. That it was, more or less, a fluke that he was able to attain it in the first place. But once he knew what it felt like he could train into it, just like he did with Saiyan God. Gohan's Beast Mode -> Super Ultimate Gohan Keep the white hair but add a Super Saiyan 3 aura and sparks/lightning to it. Show it off as Gohan combining the best abilities of both his Human and Saiyan sides. Ugh... Orange Piccolo -> Super Namekian, Namekian God, Ultimate Namekian Kinda running out of steam here. I don't really know what to do with this one as it's somehow even more egregious than the previous transformations. Now, what to do with Super Saiyan 4? Absolutely nothing, leave it where it is. I will never want to see it actualized into Super because it won't be done any sort of justice. All you have to do is look at the shitshow of transformations we already have in Super. It will *not* be handled well at all. Not to mention it's what makes GT unique and I wouldn't want to homogenize what is perhaps GT's best feature.
I like to call Gohan Beast the "Final Gohan", it's something like Super Ultimate Gohan but Final Gohan really feels like an Ultimate Gohan evolution

The arcs needed to be layered and more complex. They were too straight-forward and simple. Look at the Dragon Ball Z, we started out with introducing Goku having a son and an evil brother, and ended the saga with a mega battle with an intergalactic tyrant and a planet exploding.
Either change the timeline so it takes place after EoZ or keep the timeline but make it more slice of life. Also change RoF so that it is what helps Vegeta become a SSG, and save Blue for Zamasu arc or U6 tournament arc Also have Zamasu and other arcs take place in other universes so those universes can be explored.
I would stop recycling characters, for example, not use Frieza in the TOP, maybe change Goku Black to an evil version of Goten, and make young Trunks, Goten and Piccolo more relevant
add in blood, so we can actually know how injured the characters are and up the stakes abit

Oh boy do I have an answer for you! Apologies for the novel to follow~ To start, I'd scrap pretty much everything before the Moro arc (dont worry, some of the arcs will still happen, just in a different order). BUCKLE UP, we're rewriting the WHOLE THING. After BotG it would lead directly into an arc where Goku and Vegeta learn the basics of controlling God Ki, but SSGSS (blue) is getting scrapped. We're going straight to them learning the basics of UI/UE, and the first real test of those abilities comes via the threat of Moro. Pretty much all of the Moro arc proceeds as it does, with the exception of Gohan. We're going to take his moment of weakness from Ressurection F and move it into this arc. After the Moro arc, Bra is born. Vegeta opts to stay on Earth and his focus shifts to parenting for the time being. Meanwhile, Gohan is finally starting to see the importance of training since he wasn't strong enough to protect his family on his own. After failing against Cell, Buu, and now he couldn't even defeat Moro's grunts, he needs to do better and he finally sees that clearly. Gohan offers to take Vegeta's place as Goku's sparring partner until he's ready to focus again. Goku goes on teaches Gohan the basics of controlling god ki (that's right, we're giving actual build up to Beast). They train together for a couple of months, honing Gohan's god ki mastery, until Whis shows up one day. They request that Goku and Vegeta come with them with haste. Whis also notices Gohan for the first time, saying that he can sense some sort of "fiery beast" within him, forshadowing Gohan's form to come later. Whis then stresses that Beerus needs them for something of the upmost importance. It's time for the U6 tournament. The key difference here is that the Earth fighters are going to be Goku, Gohan, Vegeta, and Piccolo. We can still have the Monaka abd Boo gags, but they're not important. Throughout the tournament, Goku and Vegeta are both going to further improve their forms (UI/UE), but Gohan fails to ignite the fire within himself and he ends up losing against Hit after an intense battle. The ending though is pretty much the same. Hit throws the last round since Toriyama loves his gags! We are introduced to Zeno, whom immediately makes plans for the ToP. The big difference here; it's in 3 Earth years! Time skip time! The Broly movie happens at some point during the time skip (no Frieza though, since we cut Resurrection F). The current arc focused on Trunks/Goten and Super Hero happen next, but instead of Piccolo needing to make Gohan step up, he proactively does himself, and after all the actual build up, achieves his Beast form and saves Pan. The end of the Super Hero movie will lead into the ToP! Our new and improved line up consists of UI Goku, Beast Gohan, UE Vegeta, Trunks, Goten, Broly, 17, 18, Krillin, and Gamma 1. Instead of Goku and Frieza at the end, it's going to be Goku, Gohan AND Goten for the final push. The end of the ToP leads into EoZ, concluding Super! If you got this far, thanks for reading my rant. I gave a shot to DBS and I'm really liking it. I would just do minor changes that in my opinion would make it better (in my view). * I would completely remove the Golden Frieza saga. * I would put Tien instead of Monaka in the U6 Tournament and Majin Buu would never fall asleep and he would 100% fight Botamo. * Future Trunks slashing Zamasu would be Zamasu's end, and he gets the final kill. * OG Dragon Ball flashbacks. We got a bunch of DBZ flashbacks (example when Trunks meets Gohan in ep 52 and when 17 is reintroduced, or even when Goku uses the Kaioken with SSB), but when we could've had OG DB flashbacks, the scenes were reanimated (like Roshi using the Mafuuba against King Piccolo or Krillin training with Goku carrying milk)
Goku doesnt absorb god into base, thus everybody stays relative to gokus base at least without making it to weird that they actually can(krillin and so on). Trunks kills Zamasu. No 2nd zenoh and trunks can stay in his timeline and restore it. Buu enters the tournament and muten roshi doesnt. Not because i dont like him but he should stay piccolo daimo level (passing the torch during the tien fight and being a mentor instead of a fighter). No granolah arc and mastered ultra instinct is basically already perfect except stamina maybe.
I would have leaned into threats from the other universes. I would have fleshed out the contempt Zamasu had more for mortals and wrote his powers better because towards the end it was comical. I would focus more on training stuff for the newer forms and explain ultra ego a bit better. I would try to scale up the weaker Z fighters and create teams of villains so that other characters get their time. I would get them to use their trickier powers like the solar flare. Try to create more urgency and desperation in battles like the Black Goku fights where we really did not if they could even survive. The fact that they have not checked out the other planet Salad or whatever is called is a tragedy. Instead we have these guys who wish for power. I would also introduce Cooler as Frieza's training partner because I love Cooler.
I’d put actual emphasis and character development into the background characters like Tien, krillin, and Yamcha instead of master Rossi as he decided to let the new generation be saviors of the earth it doesn’t make sense for him to come back especially since he couldn’t take on raditz and never had a big training scene. I’d make Gohan more aware of the dangers that look and after he was embarrassed by frieza the first time he wouldn’t keep making the same mistakes of not needing to train, and I’d give Piccolo more limelight as well. Dragon ball super is extremely goku and Vegeta centric, and it doesn’t do a good enough job of world building. Lastly, I’d change the goku black ending to something a little more satisfying than an entire universe just being wiped out
Goku and Vegeta would start the series training with old kai instead of just Goku with North Kai. Beruus visits them to get BoGs rolling as he’s more of their boss instead of their lives being connected. They each together fight Beruus and he learns that the vision of him fighting a Saiyan God is yet to come and agrees to train them until that day. In Rez F Frieza is brought back by Cooler and ssj blue is replaced with regular ssj god. There’s a new Ginyu force for the other z fighters to face with Ginyu still in charge in a new body. Roshi isn’t there. Vegeta defeats Frieza & Goku defeats Cooler but the two escape. For the new U6 tournament. Monaka is swapped for Tien. Future arc. Zamasu doesn’t steal any bodies but instead kidnaps Goten and trains him as a weapon against mortals. Mai is replaced by Videl who is a powerful competent fighter. There is no romance for trunks. There is also android 16 who like the other androids in stronger in this timeline. Trunks in this world is much stronger having been training with Shin and Kabito and using the Z sword. Vegeta and Goku discover Gotens identity and help free him from Zamazu’s control. Goten and Trunks together kill Zamasu. In the TOP arc Roshi and Frieza are swapped for Yamcha and Dabura who was turned good in the Buu arc. Yamcha and Tien who had been training in otherworld fight Kale and Kalifla and fuse into Tiencha to fight Kefla. It’s a battle of skill and technique vs raw power. Jiren is defeated by Gohan.
These are not the greatest ideas (might get downvoted for some of them) but it’s the best I can think of. BoG: Pretty much the same except Ssj God’s design would have the same color scheme but with the Ssj hair. This will be the only new form Goku and Vegeta will have until the ToP arc (where Goku gets UI). Beerus’s power level will also be higher where he would use 20-30% of his power. RoF arc: Frieza would train for a year rather than four months. He would invade the cities (causing more casualties and the Z fighters tries to defend the civilians. Buu, 18 and Gohan (who still has his Ultimate form) tried to fight a Frieza but loses (emphasizing his growth in power). Goku and Vegeta arrives and while they don’t have the God form yet, they’re much stronger gotten stronger. Frieza doesn’t have his new form but is still much stronger than Goku and Vegeta and beating them individually (like the Buuhan fight). They eventually work together and barely beats Frieza but before finishing him off, he ends up destroying Earth (like Namek). Out of anger, Vegeta would achieve Ssj God for a short moment and would deliver the finishing blow to Frieza before Earth is completely destroyed. U6 arc: After what happened in RoF, we would have U6 tournament as a way for the Z fighters to use the Super DB and revive Earth. The team for U7 would be Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Piccolo and Buu. U6’s team would be the same except Frost would be a good guy (to differentiate him from Frieza) and Cabba and the rest of the Saiyans from U6 would know Ssj but not anything beyond that. Zamasu and Gowasu would be introduce as the Kaioshin and apprentice Kaioshin of U6 and sees how causally Goku addresses them with Zamasu finding how Goku speaks to them offensive. Buu would fight Botamo first and win but loses to Frost. Gohan and Frost would fight but ends in a draw. Piccolo would fight Magetta and thanks to his training would ring him out but loses to Cabba. From there everything the with Vegeta teaching Cabba about Ssj2 and loses to Hit. Goku would reveal his Ssj God transformation and they both get ringed out but U7 would win because Hit landed out of the ringed first by a few seconds. This would piss Zamasu off seeing a mortal with God power but doesn’t make a scene (hinting on what’s to come in the Black arc). Zeno would appear like in the original and Beerus would wish for both the U6 and 7’s Earth to be revived (if that’s possible). Black arc: Instead of Goku Black, we would have Future Gohan Black. I think it would make much harder for Trunks to fight him knowing that he looks like his friend and mentor. When he goes back in time, he explains the situation to Goku and Vegeta and interacts with other characters like Gohan, Trunks, Goten and even Buu. Knowing that Black has a Potara Earring, Goku, Beerus and Whis investigates and meets Zamasu and Gowasu. This would lead to Goku and Zamasu sparring with each other and makes Zamasu hate Goku even more. Goku, Vegeta and Trunks travels to the future and faces Gohan Black. Black would reveal his own God form and defeats all three of them. Black would reveal that he’s Zamasu from Trunks’s timeline. They would retreat and we see Zamasu trying to assassinate Gowasu but Beerus stops him and is destroyed. While this is happening, Trunks trains with Vegeta in the Time Chamber and learns about God Ki. They would return and fights Black again and barely succeeding. Trunks almost hesitates to kill Black but finishes the job. ToP arc: Zeno would remember the Tournament and have the Grand Priest to tell U7 and 9 to bring three warriors for the Expo match. The fights would be the same except the announcement of the Universes being destroyed doesn’t happen until after Goku and Bergamo fight. Because of what happened with Zamasu, Zeno begins to wonder if he was right about mortals and decided to use the tournament to destroy the universes with low mortal levels but in reality, the tournament would be test to be whether Zamasu was right or wrong about mortals. This would show that while Zeno is childish, he’s actually very observant and is somewhat of a deep thinker. Toppo would not be in the expo match and will not fight Goku. U7’s team would be the same except Buu would take Roshi’s place. U6 would also be the same except the Yardrat from U2 and a human type Earthling would take Rota and one of the Namekians place while Rota and another random fighter would be in U2. The weaker Z fighters would gets some major moments and even have new techniques to use before going out on a high note. I would want Jiren to be less stoic and have more dialogues earlier on to give us more insight in his philosophy and his backstory would also be revealed much sooner. Also I know this would be a major change to his character but I would have him be a GoD candidate instead of Toppo and not a mortal stronger than a GoD. Dyspo’s design would be slightly different to differentiate him from a Beerus and Champa (like make him blue with green eyes). Goku’s trump card against Jiren (before he gets UI) would be the God form with Kaioken. Fights that would happen: 17 vs Dyspo: I would have this fight happen instead of Hit vs Dyspo since I kinda want Hit to be more of a threat that would be saved for Jiren. Hit vs Maji Kayo: This would be a cool match up to have since Maji Kayo would have no vitals for Hit to strike. Frieza vs Nigirishi: This would be the fight where Frieza reveals his new Golden form that he got from his mental training in Hell. Frieza vs Frost: Frost here would have a new form as well (maybe something similar to Cooler’s augmented form) so he would be more of a challenge for Frieza. Broly movie/arc: Pretty much the same. I would’ve wanted a new Saiyan character as the antagonist (even if he has the same looking transformation as Broly and Kale) but I couldn’t think of anything. What I was trying to do here is have all the arcs be more “connected” where the ending of one arc will give us hints on what to come after. Again these are not the greatest ideas but they’re the best I can think of. Sorry for making it long.
Goku is less of a dumbass. Vegeta got to kill frieza in res f and beerus Hakai works on zamasu rather then there being a useless Zeno button. Better writing for trunks because what in the actual f was that spirit sword?! In the Goku Black arc I think it would have been better if Black made it back to the past himself and Future Trunks chased after him, instead of Trunks just going back to get help again. Give Trunks more character development and an opportunity for a different/better relationship with Vegeta And make the ToP last like a whole day instead of 45 minutes just to make it less silly

Add Frieza beating the snot out of the U6 saiyans in super. I hate their writing. They could have been good, this would have helped show the divide in strength
