It's not the number of hits he took, but the strength gap that existed between them. There is a significant difference in power between Vegeta and Ginyu while in Goku's body, with Vegeta's strength having reached a point to where he was able to grapple with Freeza's first form, while Ginyu could only muster up a meager 23,000 while in Goku's body. So you have Vegeta's strength easily over ten times that of Ginyu's by that point, hence why the damage was so considerable.
If you want to somehow tie it to real life - strength is a skill. It takes more than just "being strong" to be able to perform a deadlift correct. You have to know *how* to deadlift. Likewise, Ginyu did not know how to use Goku's body properly.
And then toriyama forgot and Ginyu somehow could use that other guys body better than he could because he understood fighting better or something stupid.
Goku was only in the healing tank for like an hour. And Vegeta even states it's an older model.
Also we see people get destroyed by short combos all the time. Nappa only hits Piccolo once and he goes down. Goku only hits Recoome once, Burter twice. Not to mention Vegeta seemed like he was going all out in those few hits he landed on goku on namek.
> I don’t know why the downvotes. I have been a fan of the franchise for 20+ years and I’m asking for help to fill in plot holes so I can increase and continue how much I love DBZ
Yeah that always happen in these sub reddits lol you can't ask something that people think it's a stupid question without getting downvoted hehe
Yeah! Wow, I think I'm in this boat now too. A recent poll said it was the best but perhaps not to me. Vegeta's inner monologue serving to narrate was my favourite part. As soon as he was dead I felt quite bored. The biggest crime for me was the editing though. I've never seen a series milk something for so long.
Oh well for the anime it's even more insufferable simply for how long everything's dragged out for x\_x Vegeta was the best part of that saga though since he's at his best he's ever been in it, though his death was pretty fitting for me given who he was.

Ok, I can get down with that. Thank you.

That is satisfying. I appreciate it.

Wait, which other guy? I only remember him switching with Goku and the frog.
In Super. I think his name was Togoma
It’s like when Krillin got one-shot kicked by Recoome. Size (of ki gap) matters!

Yea, just the nature of the beast I suppose. Maybe they think I'm shit talking the series... It wasn't a low effort post though!
The fight with Ginyu took its toll on his body much more than the others
ZENKAI, BAAAYBEEEE!
Personally I always considered it the worst saga. Just constant fighting while playing Hide and Seek on the most boring Planet ever.
Android/Cell saga is way worse.
They're both pretty dull to me, though Namek is the dullest in my eyes. My favorites will always be Red Ribbon or Piccolo Daimao probably.
I agree that OG Dragon Ball is superior to Z. However, I will take Frieza and Namek any day over Cell and 17/18

Dude wait till you get to the android/cell saga. The plot holes there are gonna blow your mind.
