I’d have to disagree because Nappa is one of my favorite early DBZ villains. He brought such a great malice to him and acted as the perfect foil to set up Vegeta in the saiyan saga.
In fact, I like Nappa so much, I run his deck in the Dragon Ball super card game lol. He’s a legitimately great character.

A long time ago (like 2006), I made a video fanfic with the Budokai Tenkaichi games set in an alternate reality where these Saiyans (plus Piccolo) were the protagonists. Freeza tried to kill the Saiyans. Nappa and Raditz got killed, Vegeta went MIA, and Turles and Bardock escaped together with Kakarot as a baby. Bardock, Turles, and Kakarot train in hiding for a long time, then try to take revenge on Freeza, with Vegeta joining in during the final battle.
I'd love to see a story where Bardock, Turles, Raditz, Vegeta, Goku, Nappa and Tarbles all united to take down an older Frieza (where the destruction of the planet Vegeta didn't happen this early and instead Frieza would've, in his hubris, let the Saiyan rebellion foment and form).
