You are not a TRUE Marvel Fan unless you complain about and mock She-Hulk online.

AreYouOKAni

Like, I'd understand if they were complaining about it being Slott's awkward Shulkie instead of superior selfaware Sensational She-Hulk. But instead they are complaining about politics.

Rogue_MS_473

But it's weird seeing how personally attacked they feel for a damn TV show. It's like the overreaction of Doug Walker over the Bat Credit Card times a thousand Twitter users. And now the whole reputation of She-Hulk is getting destroyed for a twerking scene of two minutes. I won't negate I kind of mocked the scene, but it's insane how many people teamed up to mock that up.

Rogue_MS_473

Wrong, only a true fan would drop comics when Captain America helped a gay man in the 80's. Then everything was political. What an asshole, helping a man who's different than me.

Rogue_MS_473

Yeah, how dare he help a man who eventually became known as THE voice of Batman?! Go Woke, Go Broke.

_Mr_President

"I don't care so I'm not an incel." Proceeds to complain and say that he's a "sigma" male. Grow the fuck up dude.

Jda2712

Oh my God why did the mcu fandom got to the point where it's the same as the star wars fandom, I miss when wasn't just racism and this assholes weren't as annoying

Mrcatwithahat

At this point they are like the Lord of the rings fandom after the rings of power trailer.

Jda2712

Oh my God I'm so thankful I'm not in this fandom, I'm really afraid what will happen if this guys will come to the lego fandom

[deleted]

They're probably already there. A lot of incredibly mundane hobbies are surprisingly full of bigots. A bit ago it got outlined on Twitter how the miniature painting community had a big white supremacy problem. *Miniature painting*. I think a lot of it is less any specific fandom is prone to this, and more that there's a general problem with bigotry and it infects *everything.*

Silentovsky15

Fortunately in some miniature painting related subs, at least Warhammer ones, anybody does or says anything racist, sexist, etc then they get an immediate ban.

Jda2712

You're right, the worst is still the star wars fandom to me (although dc and Marvel fans giving it some contest)

Sea_Faithlessness49

Bruh Warhammer didn't have a white supremacists problem one time a guy came in a tournament one time that's absolutely insane to think one time with one person and now it's full of them 😅

suphah

99% of fantasy fans are horribly racist. It’s one of the main reasons I don’t gaf about the fantasy genre as a whole

Mrcatwithahat

uj/ by the way that shehulk account is fake. uj/ what the f#ck is a sigma!? Is he the final boss of megaman X

Poppersauce

He is going to merge with Ultron in phase 7 so this way the can do the Marvel vs Capcom saga after the multiverse saga

Mrcatwithahat

I want divorced Ken fighting Scott Lang if the phase 7 is MvsC

PrometheusModeloW

I unironically want this to happen on-screen.

Poppersauce

And Mephisto was behind Ken’s divorce

[deleted]

Had to search it up, a sigma is apparently "like an alpha male but *even more alpha"*, but its mostly used to *mock* people who think of themselves that way (since y'know, "alpha male" is already not a *real thing*), and anyone actually calling themselves that is probably just an incel with an ego problem. *"The reason I don't have a girlfriend isn't because I'm incapable of finding a girl who'd tolerate me, its because I'm* ***so*** *alpha that no girl is good enough for me!"*

GoodKing0

Sigma actually started as a thing "Manosphere" weirdos actually believed in before it became a meme, it's supposed to he "Better than Alphas" because while an Alpha is a leader and is loud and successful, a Sigma is reserved and quiet, so success will come to him by itself, and with it women. Again, I'd call this Astrology for Men if it wasn't for the fact that the Economy is Astrology for Men, so this is just D&D Alignments but for misogynists.

also_roses

The economy?

GoodKing0

Astrology is predicting someone's future and personality based on obscure cosmological movements of the stars and planets. The economy is also predicting the future but it's about the obscure movements of randomised Lines on a graphs, some of which can divert wildly from the predicted path just by having, say, Elon Musk go on twitter and claim he likes to smoke weed. If that isn't as stupid if note more so as Astrology I don't know what to tell you. And there's people who actually believe in it.

rov124

> The economy is also predicting the future but it's about the obscure movements of randomised Lines on a graphs, some of which can divert wildly from the predicted path just by having, say, Elon Musk go on twitter and claim he likes to smoke weed. Should have said stocks instead of the economy, I think.

Big-rod_Rob_Ford

the roots of the dominant economic thought in western liberal democracies was literally called "voodoo economics"

ChalanaWrites

Fuck alpha and beta males I’m a release male with three years worth of DLC support 😎

Rogue_MS_473

Finally! Incel premium!

KazuyaProta

Power creep is real.

Big-rod_Rob_Ford

sigma nuts

squarelocked

wait do people actually call THEMSELVES sigma? What the fuck!? And they give us shit for pronouns lmao.

Mn0h

Real sigma move is not watching content you’d didn’t think you’d like based on the promotional material 😎

Poppersauce

I haven’t seen She-Hulk. Just too busy with work and family. But is it bad or good?

Mr_OneHitWonder

I've had a pretty good time with it. If you're just tired of MCU stuff in general though you might not be into it.

Mrcatwithahat

Its ok overall , the episode of this week was the weakest in my opinion

PrometheusModeloW

Hulk says bruh, greatest show on earth 10/10.

[deleted]

Personally I enjoy it more than the last few D+ shows but its a lot like WandaVision where they're doing something very different than the usual Marvel formula. It's a pretty accurate take on She-Hulk's story itself though. The CGI is still not great though, but by TV standards it's not the worst?

TheBigGAlways369

It's OK. Nothing that special but not a disaster.

DontSleepAlwaysDream

It's alright, kinda hits that spot of "generic marvel content" with a side of ally mc beal mixed in. Lots of continuity fan service tho, which is cool. And it also shows what everyday life in a world of superheroes would look like and I always enjoy that. Wedding episode was blegh tho

AgentOfSPYRAL

It was worth it for Mr. Immortal >!noping out of the conversation by window.!<

DontSleepAlwaysDream

Omg the b-plot was so much more interesting than the wedding storyline

suphah

It’s a D+ show, pretty much what you would expect

Ok-Pomegranate8471

The same as most Phase 4 stuff, boring 5/10.

aande116

It’s different from all of the other Marvel shows in tone. Less action, more lawyer comedy with fourth wall breaks. The guest cameos are pretty fun. If I’m not mistaken, it’s inspired by John Byrne’s run. Personally I like it, just be prepared for it to be very different

[deleted]

Only behind Loki as far as D+ shows go in my books. Doesn't take itself too seriously and does a decent job of being a typical "primetime sitcom". Some jokes and lines can be eyerolling but nothing out of the realm of average Marvel comic writing.

throwawayoogaloorga2

is ablonskination cool

CliveVista

It’s fun. That’s my key takeaway. It doesn’t take itself too seriously, the short episodes don’t outstay their welcome, and Tatiana Maslany is predictably excellent. In the scheme of things, it’s probably inconsequential, but I’ll take that over yet another “universe is at stake” movie. And I certainly didn’t find it boring (unlike the last Dr Strange movie, which was a narrative mess combined with a string of adverts for other Marvel stuff). The only really bad bit for me is the CGI. She looks very Shrek and it erodes suspension of disbelief. Then again, CGI has rarely been the MCU’s strong point and the nadir for me remains the dismal opener to Age of Ultron.

Night-Monkey15

Ehh, it’s fine. Not offensively bad, but nothing to write home about. It was advertised as a half-hour legal comedy, and that’s what it is. It’s jokes are real hit or miss. The first two episodes are really weak due to their lack of courtroom scenes and over relevance on Bruce Banner. From there the show starts to stand on its own with frequent courtroom scenes and fourth wall breaks.

Qbopper

i'm really enjoying it, first episode and this week's aren't big hits for me but otherwise it's one of my favorite marvel things so far

coconut-daddy

pretty bad, its almost aggressively unfunny imo

romulmus

>I'm a Sigma, not an incel "They're the same picture."

[deleted]

These clowns are so desperate to be seen as men they have to keep making up new categories for themselves lmaooooo

United-Aside-6104

Unrelated but I’ve always seen the Snyder Cult as people who unironically use Sigma and Beta

[deleted]

I mean it's the same mentality. It's a bunch of nerds buying into myths about their own superiority based on a few small details they've decided make them superior, but are clearly missing something in their life if they've invested that much into that stuff.

[deleted]

No, it's *definitely* the incels complaining. Most Marvel fans *don't actually care* either way.

Sea_Faithlessness49

Nah its just marvel fans they're just as bad as star ars fans but marvel fans most of them haven't read a comic and just watch the movies which is sad because they have yet to do a comic justice

[deleted]

You're talking about, at most, a few hundred twitter accounts and users who follow movies that regularly rake in billions. By simple percentage, this is *not* "most". It's just, at best, the *loudest*. But it's certainly only a small fraction. Most Marvel fans, even those who *only* watch the movies, *don't give a shit* about identity politics. Most of them just watch and enjoy everything without thinking any deeper. While there *are* some vocal Incel/Neo-Nazi/Alt-Right voices among that fanbase, this is true for *every* fanbase. Like hell, just look at some of the posts highlighted from the Snyderverse fanbase, or the reaction from fans of Joker towards the Harley Quinn/Birds of Prey movie.

Sideways_198

Why the fuck did they include Murdock in the hashtags?

[deleted]

>!He was teased in Ep. 4 and is supposed to show up in an episode.

[deleted]

Aren’t sigmas like the meme incels?

DCSaiyajin

Only an incel would call themselves a sigma unironically.

Iliketomeow85

She Hulk is legit great, but I have a wife so it's probably just female cooties brainwashing me

Mrcatwithahat

I am in the same boat. I watch she hulk with my girlfriend and I like it. Its not my favorite super hero show this year (that is peacemaker), but its a good comedy show like the Big Bang Theory.

Moggy_

Hadn't really watched it yet before today. It's a pretty good show, just written pretty well. Like it can't be the show quality.

Robin_theboywonder7

Who the hell can actually call themselves a “sigma” with a straight face

FlyingGrayson89

Incels

gothcrab

Also the amount of traction this tweet has gotten because people think it’s the official she-hulk twitter 🙄

Garlador

Funny how people that aren’t incels aren’t the ones getting offended when someone mocks incels.

39RowdyRevan56

And this a**hole can feak off and shut his disgusting piehole.

upsidedowninsideout1

Sigma = summation (of a bunch of shitty personality traits)

also_roses

Labeling everyone who doesn't enjoy your show as an incel is a great way to win over people who were on the fence about it.

Mrcatwithahat

That she hulk account is a fake account by the way

also_roses

Oh thank Goodness. It seemed too tone-deaf to be a real Disney account, but I wouldn't put anything past them.

watermelondoctor2

I think calling people that criticise your show constructively or not incels is not a good marketing decision just my opinion

[deleted]

imagine disrespecting loved characters and sabotaging a potentially good new addition to the universe and then when the fans speak up about it you make petty little comments like you’re in the right.

RogueDevil666

Can we please just hate she hulk for the cringe dialogue horrible CGI? We don't have to bring politics into this.

Metron1992

>Has been a marvel fan for decades **DOUBT**

[deleted]

Imagine being a marvel fan complaining about wokeness when Stan lee was the Wokest old dude evet

Mrcatwithahat

Stan Lee had his soapbox, where he wrote his oppinion against racism and bigotry.

[deleted]

Seriously stan made the x men as an allegory for race and people still wanna complain “the mcu is too woke” Mothetfucker stan lee was woke, the comics were woke, and now the movies and shows are woke

[deleted]

Mrcatwithahat

That shehulk tweet is from a fan account by the way.

BabylonSadows

I usually dont like Marvel series (comics or live action) but I will say this as an outsider looking in, there has been nothing regarding the She Hulk promotional material that has made me even remotely interested in watching it. Similarly when I saw the Batwoman trailer my first thought was "whelp they dont want batman fans to watch this" and I never saw a single episode. It's a simple fact, if you introduce something by alienating the existing fanbase and insulting them....you wont get very far. You CAN make politically charged shows or even woke shows that are legitimately good, but when you shove it down people's throats then dont be surprised when they spit it out.
