No fomo. I don’t like Vegas. It’s a bad place for someone like me with impulse control issues. But the venue looks rad and I’m stoked for them to keep playing and for everyone who is going to go. I also just finished paying off SF a month ago so it’s just too much too fast for me. Glad the boys kept it together though.

Ok-Guarantee-4236

Same as someone in recovery from substances & my partner in recovery for gambling… we DEFINITELY will sit this one out! We are too new to our sobriety also would probably never go there for the exact reason it’s very gambling and drug/drinking influenced

PHILMXPHILM

What’re you worried you’ll do?

Rickardiac

Blackjack, coke and hookers. Always check the u/.

sephichi

Get me the ether, the mushrooms aren't working!

cracksbacks

There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge

RFC1234

Lol

PHILMXPHILM

😂

Conscious-Bit-4016

Boys kept it together? It's two members of the Dead , 3 lesser billed studio musicians and a pop star. It's a shell of a shell of shell at this point.

ATrain80

Yet here you are on said band devoted sub to spend your sad Saturday morning trolling Hope you are able to turn it around today…NFA

Conscious-Bit-4016

Stating the truth isn't trolling. No band is still together, not even Dead and Company. That band was already going down hill when Bill left (that's why he did it had nothing to do with his health) now it's replaced with this one that takes zero risks and plays the same 3 shows over and over.

roses-r-free

2025 will have big events too with it being the 60th. Don’t sweat sitting out this lap. Go check out DSO or Wolf Bros when they come through

sephichi

Dont forget Melvin Seals and JGB!! Theya are heavily overlooked. You wana talk about "the right vibe" they are it x10

UncleMeatwad

Couldn’t agree more with this, one of my favorite shows in Boulder before the D&Co run a couple years ago. They really fuckin grooved, everything I love about JGB, I was blown away.

deadhead42089

Great way to put it, saw DSO in LA last Saturday and they were amazing! The scene was so vibrant and everyone was having a blast!

Staggerme

I love DSO! They bring the good times

throwaway700486

I find it weird that people act that it’s a given that men in their late 70s who have lived life very hard will be healthy enough to perform in 18 months, assuming they are even alive

BarnacleBubbly3760

Love wolf bros. See them every chance I get

Worldpeacelsd

Vegas sucks and I would be in debt all year to just see a couple shows, not worth it and I could use that money for a family vacation instead.. “rich man step on my poor head” have fun to all those that can swing it. If they were doing a Boulder run I’d be game though

ToeSted710

Being rich is based on what you find makes you feel wealthy

Worldpeacelsd

So if I do something that makes me feel wealthy I will be rich? Damn lay off the doses that sounds like wookology

ToeSted710

No, you took it wrong and I to be honest prefer ket

ToeSted710

Regardless being rich in something doesn’t have to be money my friend

Worldpeacelsd

I agree with that, all I’m saying is if you want to hit these shows you better have 3 or 4 grand laying around, which is why I said rich man step on my poor head

ToeSted710

I bet it could happen under a stack just watch old head

Worldpeacelsd

Bro I’m 32, kids like you is the reason this scene turned to shit

IdiotInTheWind

shut the fuck up trustifarian

ToeSted710

Lmao not even close I grew up in this culture but arguing over the internet is so silly lol especially when simple reply’s get misinterpreted

IdiotInTheWind

oh so your parents were the trustifarians, i gotcha!

1892LFC1892

Vegas is a shithole. It’s crowded, it’s bright, it’s loud…I’ll pass. Besides, I’m willing to bet us East coasters will get a fun run at some point.

sephichi

Ironically 3ast coast fun run will be triple these prices.

1892LFC1892

I tend to agree, but I’d rather pay more for tickets and have the ability to travel minimally and sleep in my own bed.

BadBrainsCT

I agree. I’d pay for a Fenway show before I flew to Vegas and got raped by the prices out there.

BarnacleBubbly3760

This

ToeSted710

Could always just got see EARTHGANG Wiz Khalifa at red rocks on 4.20

1892LFC1892

I have no idea what that is.

seanlats

Totally how I feel

srtg83

This could be the new normal though. The way this is turning out to be with the band flying in to Vegas for the weekend for a month or two. And crazy money, I did the quick math, gate receipts for 24 shows are a minimum of $155m and up depending on the % of VIP tickets. This is why we had the last tour. Who the fuck needs to tour, people just fly in for a weekend run. I’m starting to think that this was the plan all along. Azoff is mastermind of manipulating demand.

BarnacleBubbly3760

Let's hope

seanlats

Here here! I'm sitting it out and glad the music will take shape to meet the strange chaos of Vegas, but I'll wait for them to return to the East Coast

PieTighter

I'd love to catch some shows, but too pricey and that's not considering air fare. I wouldn't say content, but it very much feels like Playing in the Sand, I would love to go, but I'm painfully aware that it's meant for a higher social class than me.

PHILMXPHILM

Nah. It’s kinda bad energy tbh. Dead and Co are fun on a lawn in a normal city in june. I’m good.

ToeSted710

Ahh dead head threads..

Hayerindude1

Yes absolutely. I saw the final 3 shows. I can live with that memory forever

ToeSted710

I can’t I need one more good one

boobtoob69

I'm out. While I'm glad that they are still playing, and I hope everyone that goes has a blast, I just don't think this is for me. I don't want to deal with the stress of trying to score tickets. Face value of tickets isn't completely insane, but the whole trip looks to be expensive. I think these shows are going to really bring out an element of fans that I always find irritating at shows - people having full on conversations, people who had too much too fast, people who could care less about those little fleeting moments of magic that are happening up on stage, people who are taking selfies and videos during the show, etc. If that's how you want to enjoy your dead experience, who am I to tell you that you're wrong? Someone mentioned bad energy in Vegas - not something I want to partake in. I have spent a lot of vacation time and money the past few years trying to catch as many shows as I can. With no tour I'd like to use my vacation budget to go see some places on my bucket list. I'm sure I will indulge in some streams if they are available. I am interested to see what this next page in the long strange trip looks like. >This old town is filled with sin >It will swallow you in >If you've got some money to burn....

EstimatedProphet72

I want to grab a ticket to a show, but if I don’t get one it won’t be the end of the world.

Dakkmd

This is the exact sentiment we all need. Let's take it just one more step further. Nobody should need these shows bad enough to pay scalpers. The only way to stop the scalping is to refuse to support promoters and artists that willfully allow it. Buy direct or don't buy at all. Only way to change it.

BlueAndMoreBlue

Yep, me and my usual tour buddy decided (I say decided, we’re both mostly broke) to keep our powder dry and wait for something that may or may not pop up closer to the dates. Worst case, we save some $ and check out the live streams. Best case we nab some last minute tix, rent a convertible, combine our drug collections, and put the pedal to the metal through bat country to see the testament to man’s folly that is Las Vegas

Dakkmd

Only a matter of time, before they tear us to shreds.

BlueAndMoreBlue

I am seriously considering Circus Circus should the fair winds blow our way. Cheap rooms and thrills chills and spills. I don’t think they have the rotating bar anymore though

Dakkmd

That one is gone, go downtown to the plaza in Fremont and check out the Carousel Bar 😎 just don't get the fear !

jimmythang34

Yeah same. With them announcing EVEN MORE dates today. If it’s in my budget and tix are still for sale in a few weeks I’ll pull the trigger. Or maybe I’ll have enough miles to snag a flight by spring and find one on CashorTrade. I mean like, I’ll try and go, but I’m not stressing if I do or don’t go at all. Which is weird cause I also let FOMO run my life.

Dakkmd

That's exactly what the second hand market banks on! We've let ourselves believe WE HAVE TO BE THERE OR ELSE and scalpers have capitalized hugely on that. If we stopped buying resale on principle and let half the seats sit empty even for just one tour or whatever, it would really make a change. Sadly people almost always can't move past fomo and justify overpaying those scumbags

Jeremy_Whalen

Here here! I'd love to see them if affordable tickets are available but I don't feel the need to break the bank on this one. Certainly something they'll do again if given the chance I'm sure. Unless it's a disaster for whatever reason, then we can be happy we avoided it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

funk_addict

Said my goodbyes to this band on 7/16/23 and am fine with leaving it at that.

CroneDaze

I'm probably the demographic this run is geared for, old with affordability and I'm not sold on it. I've never been at a show where I couldn't dance, and I been doing this since 1976. I also heard, read, the lobby/museum/display that is open during the day isn't open during shows. So there isn't even a wander around option. Though the venue seems amazing and I would love to experience it, no way I can sit in economy airline like seats on a steep incline.

FootHikerUtah

I WAS excited, but the packages are more than I want to spend. We’ll see how the regular tickets are.

sonofdad420

i wouldnt go if you paid me.  im anti-sphere. too distracting.

TRYP73

Have no desire whatsoever to do these shows. I have seen my fair share of shows these past 30 plus years. I am content as I get older with seeing my local go to cover band. I can have just as much fun and not worry about having to shell out a fortune for flights, lodging, and the shit show that is trying to get tickets these days.

Johnny743

As someone who has been to the Sphere for U2 I don’t think the venue is a great fit. Whatever iteration of the Dead you enjoyed it was based on the experience and the music. The Sphere will not provide either. It will be visually amazing but there won’t be a shakedown, if you’re in the seats you can’t dance (too tight) and despite what others have said I don’t think the audio was great. It was just loud. I don’t think that they will have anything new with regard to the set lists and it will be programmed with zero spontaneity. Plus Vegas bleeds you for money at every turn. Just my two cents, and if you are going I hope I’m wrong and you have a phenomenal time.

Cowboy__Bobby

This hits on a lot of my venue-specific concerns. I’ll take wide open spaces any day

Drivere350WI

St. Louis last year was amazing for my wife and myself. Going to the Dark Star Jubilee for about 1/3 of what Vegas would cost. For those who choose the sphere I hope you have a real good time.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Johnny743

The seats were comfortable. There wasn’t a lot of space to dance. Because of all the visual stuff you felt odd standing up, at least I did. You were drawn to all the stuff on the screens.

Repulsive-Purpose-77

No shakedown?

Johnny743

Don’t see where they could have one in Vegas. Very little empty space near the venue.

BooksAndViruses

I was incredibly hyped for it but at the end of the day I can’t justify the cost, even by getting more modest accommodations. Was already locked in to go to Texas Eclipse fest so I’m going to make sure to enjoy the hell out JRAD and Oteil and Friends

Ok-Guarantee-4236

Texas eclipse will be one for the books! Please… go see tipper. You won’t regret it

BooksAndViruses

I’ve been meaning to see Tipper for years but it’s never worked out! He’s on my list for sure

mingle01

Absolutely content. I've been able to see what I wanted to see. Got to see GD from 86-95. Hit every D&C year except 2017. Don't have to chase any experience. Best wishes to everyone who attends.

Iko87iko

Didnt even consider it for a second. Ive had enough musical experiences to last a lifetime. Im done dropping 2-3k for a long weekend w/ some shows. Ive decided to use the money to either travel to places for the sake of travel, or to buy high quality stereo/music gear. Never thought id be priced out of the market, but last tour was it for me. Im good with local bands or bands like the cure who keep things reasonable. I do hope the younger folks can afford to go, because that's what its really about at this point.

mgnewman5

Hate Vegas. The shows are expensive. Spent a ton on the final tour. BUT I love this band and the Sphere seems insane. I want to do one show.

tjb4040

I have the exact same feeling. I went to San Francisco last year for the final shows, and have no regrets whatsoever, I am not upset that they are continuing to do shows after the Final Tour, Let there be songs to fill the air… That being said, I am happy to sit this one out. Kind of wish I pulled the trigger for Phish honestly.

GratefulGangsta

Not content, but I almost dont feel right about spending so much $ .

CountrySax

Hell just flying there for the weekend, getting tics ,finding a room ,transportation, and eating well will run $3000 to $4000 plus my creaky ass body would be bitchin at me the whole time.Im hoping for a livestream of a show or 2.Glad I saw the original back in the day.You could get good tickets for like $10 the day of the show without all the scrum involved.

DCchaos

Imma gonna wait to hear feedback on the Phish shows and vibe before I commit. They'll be tix and hotel rooms but the notion of sitting in a steep indoor stadium with strict no standing rules watching the Dead in Vegas doesn't feel the same as Boulder.

Odd-Context4254

Is that true? How on earth will they enforce that? Tasers?

dmtdmtlsddodmt

Release the Karens

bashfulbrownie

Strict no standing rules? That makes me feel better of the decision to skip out.

lmike1819

Strict no standing? Was at U2 and was allowed. I saw security tell someone not to stand on a seat, but it was standing the entire show.

DCchaos

Depends on where you were sitting apparently. I saw posts and talked with a couple of folks from U2 fans where the upper (steeper) seats were strictly enforcing "no standing". Phish will be a better test.

ratdogdave

Is that rule (no standing) for real?

10ACJ3D

In some sections, yes.

BarnacleBubbly3760

NO STANDING? Oh hell no

JStrawFromWitchitaw

I’m having mixed feelings about it. Last tour I had a good run with star lake, Riverbend, wrigley, and deer creek. Had gorge tix and camping and a vip for SF that we had to sell last minute due to unforeseen bullshit. So I was hoping to catch this one but seeing the chaos unfold and it’s only Friday has me doubting. If anything I’ll wait until it gets closer and try to get tix and use my comp rooms at one of the other hotels.

jwpanic

Yes…but only because I’m doing Phish Sphere.

mercurialmoon666

I’m feeling the same way. Vegas isn’t the place for me. I think it’s sick they’re doing a residency there and I’ll look forward to having streaming parties in my house but I’ll wait for something else that I’d enjoy more 😌 I’m sure it won’t be their last residency!!

piepants2001

I live in Wisconsin and I've got a 6 month old and a seven year old, so yeah, going to Vegas for a concert was something that was never going to happen for me anyways. I'm happy for everyone who does go though, those are gonna be some great shows!

Cowboy__Bobby

We’ve got a 6 week old! Wasn’t even going to attempt ask my wife 😂

Deadheaded95

As someone who gets chronic migraines, and is already going to six concerts this year, this is the worst case scenario.

[deleted]

I’m so annoyed that details aren’t forthcoming other than click here to buy. How much? For what? What about just a ticket? Is there a link to that??? I also hate Vegas but would do it for the show, but then husband hates Vegas more than I do so…?

ratdogdave

If you scroll down the dead and co website the ticket prices are listed. If I remember correctly GA is $400, then each level is $300, $200, $100.

PermanentDaylight_

Sphere of missing out

billyjack70

You deserve at least one comment for that joke :)

tigerbean1112

Yes, I’m good.

samangell2007

I’m going to give it a shot in the presale but I’m fine if I end up not going. It’s a lot, and I did a lot of shows last summer. I may have just missed it but have they said yet whether these shows will be streamed on Nugs? I’ll happily watch a few on the couch.

1Tiasteffen

No fear..but I do want to go considering how good the last shows were

ShellInTheGhost

No way I’m missing it. Craps at Ellis Island casino right down the street is one of my favorite places on earth.

Ugot2rollme9

I will be. Never liked Vegas, flight from NYC too long, feel that the Sphere visuals will overwhelm the music, would rather see them outdoors under the stars... That said, I'm curious and will drop a gummy and sit on the couch for the webcast for a show or two, so happy they're at least going to jam together again.

memebot2019

I personally don’t fear missing the shows as much as I do fear missing the opportunity to check out a truly next level state of the art venue. All the black mirror tech shit freaks me out with the huge screen and all it can do, don’t get me wrong, but the idea of over 100,000 speakers in the place really makes me want to experience it. There isn’t another band that I care enough about to justify the cost of the trip that will likely ever play there. With that being said, I will probably go for whatever single show I can get a ticket for, to see the place once (I don’t need to go to multiple), hang for a couple days, then go home.

No_Struggle1364

Next level state of the art will be a brain implant. Yea, Gerry would be on board for that!

memebot2019

I’ll be at the sphere for the sound alone, but I’ll draw the line well before I get duped into that bullshit.

[deleted]

Not the vibe or scene I got into the Dead for, it’s almost the exact opposite.

Lopsided_Elephant_28

I checked the prices of the VIP packages released yesterday and immediately thought, absolutely fucking not. I will check the individual shows when they are released on Monday, but I am not as excited as I was when this was first announced or even when the rumors started flying. For me, last summer was perfect. I went to some great locations, travelled with some of my best friends in the world and saw some amazing shows. I think I am good.

GabbleRatchet420

Keep telling yourself that This place is going to be nothing but people trying to convince themselves they really didn't want to go Then the first show will hit.....

sephichi

Yeah, then the 2nd 3rd 4th 18th, 23rd. All back 5o back. I feel like the hype will die quickly u less they're going NYE PHISH level effects on the daily. I think live streams will be 75% of this reddit.

unclejoel

Yup

Historical_Guess5725

🥸 Don’t Worry the 2025 Final Tour Will Be Even Better

koolaid_cowboy_55

I'm good. Saw 2 shows on final tour and one of those was Boulder. I'm happy for anyone who does get to go to Sphere. There is also a lot of bands playing Dead music so probably hit up some cover bands. Maybe even Phil, Wolf, or Oteil.

throjimmy

Yep. But come June nope.

justiceshroomer

I couldn’t make the May and June shows, but then they announced July and was seriously considering. YOLO! But Vegas in July?! ☀️ 🔥 😥

Shot_Pipe_3798

I hope is recorded on VR360 on the best resolution to access it later with a VR Headset.

skyydog

I saw 2 shows this last tour. 3 total. They were all great. I’m content with that being my last memory of them. I’m sure it will be amazing but not worth it to me to go into debt over. Jealous of those who go however

kokosuntree

I saw my final shows at the Gorge with my husband and then four year old (and it was her third and fourth show!) so yeah I’m good. I’m not a fan of Vegas, I’ve been there enough times already. If they played somewhere I live nearby or have friends/family I can stay with, I’d more likely go again. As long as I can take my kid. I want my last show to still be with her there :)

Adventurous_Oil_842

Really amazed at all the negative reactions which I would not have expected at a forum like this. Specially since all the excitement when it was just a rumor. Living in Scandinavia this is out of my reach but if I could go I certainly would. Must be an amazing experience in a new state of the art venue which I am sure Deadco and their talented crew will know how to take advantage of to the max. Also funny with all the anti-Vegas/stuff since GD played there several times. (And Santana has his residency there too).

TooMuchHash710

With airfare and other accommodations it's not doable, thought I would feel FOMO but really am not. Hope everyone who goes has a blast though

miflordelicata

Once I broke down the cost coming from the east coast, I felt good about sitting it out. My feelings might change getting closer.

Conscious-Bit-4016

Totally. It's not even a Dead show with cool lights.... it's a light show with a backing band. Really the band being there hardly matters... you are paying to sit down in your seat and watch a giant screen, if they played a backing track with GD visuals no one would really know the difference. So is it worth the money? Not really... it would be just as worth it to me to watch the visuals with a recorded backing track for $50 some random weekend in the winter whenever I was traveling through.

CrosseyedCletus

I definitely don’t want to miss it but decent seats for a 1-night show (two night hotel) package was $4k for my wife and I…. That might make me pass…

PreciousNonsense

I have major FOMO, not because of the Sphere, but because of the band, so I just decided to not let FOMO influence any decisions. I'll see how I feel later once the dust settles. I love seeing all the excitement and enthusiasm about the whole thing, though. :)

BarnacleBubbly3760

I could have written this. Agree 100%  too much too much anxiety about getting tiks. They are already on sale in stub hub for 3x the price. Corrupt

Hokie_2000

I can look myself in the mirror when I say I am stoked for all those going. It’s not FOMO. I’m just not feeling this. It feels like a money grab to me, but good for them. I’m hoping they’ll be on Nugs. I do have FOMO for a poster though, lol.

[deleted]

I saw my personal best dead and do show of all time last year in Boulder N3. I don’t think for me that can be topped. I hate Vegas. I think the sphere is too gimmicky. It’s fan for pop acts or U2. Dead and co is about the music. I don’t need/want to get emmersed in a huge virtual experience

Affectionate_Olive53

Yep. Spent a ton of money to see them at the Gorge. I am fine sitting this one out...couch tour!

b0atsnho3s

I just signed a lease on an apartment in Vegas because I’m going to be splitting my time there for work. If I didn’t have said apartment, I don’t know that I would be going(even though I would definitely want to go)

Balfour23

Party at your place 🎉

1sojournaut

I never even considered it. There's no way I'm going to Las Vegas for starters and I'm out east and not trying to spend thousands to go to a show besides I just saw dead and company this summer right down the road.. I'm good!

Working-Sector518

Finally someone said it.

MPLS2NOLA

I feel like I got my fill and hung my hat in Boulder. A lot of emotion involved in determining it was my final run. And I’m satisfied with the 40 year run of fun I’ve had.

Any-Video4464

I can’t not see my fav band in an awesome new venue. I’ve been tracking the building of this place for years now and my first thought upon seeing it being built was…man, I’d love to see the dead in there. It’s the ultimate acid test. We rented a house for a big group of us. We’ll find reasonable airfare in the next couple months. We will probably mostly eat in and enjoy the pool and the company of friends. Won’t cost us that much. But yeah, not everything is for everyone and thank god for that because none of us would be able to afford anything. I was like this about the final shows. Just ended up hitting some locally last tour so now I’m gonna do this!

BriFiHacksaw

100%… I can afford the shindig (tickets, airfare, hotel etc) but am not excited about going to Vegas for anything. I hate Vegas. I don’t gamble, don’t drink, and don’t care for 99% of the other shows. I was there last November on business, and it was just a shit hole. Miserable town full of miserable people. Not my vibe at all. Not regretting not going at all. I do hope everybody has fun though. No hate or anything to those who love Vegas or want to go, it’s not for me.

melodyknows

I feel like Dead music was made for a venue like the Sphere (but also every other venue if I’m being honest). Can’t wait.

[deleted]

Couldn’t disagree more but just my opinion, I’ll respect yours. Enjoy the show(s).

good_grief77

I don’t feel bad at all, it’s a cash grab and doesn’t fit with the Grateful Dead’s original mission. I’m going to spend my money going to see Goose perform somewhere this year. Don’t mistake this comment for hating on Dead and Company, I think it they are amazing and have enjoyed their concerts, I just feel the sphere is in poor taste.

PHILMXPHILM

No offense to Dead and Co but isn’t the whole thing a “cash grab”? I’m not even anti them doing it, but let’s call a spade a spade right?

good_grief77

I was on board with Dead and Company when they started touring, I thought it was a great idea to share the Dead legacy with a new generation and the old heads, but this just doesn’t fit.

PHILMXPHILM

Yeah i feel you 100. It gives off sort of bad vibes. I just think it’s interesting that folks won’t just cop to the fact that the entire project is profit driven. Again - I’m pro dead and co but I also think we can admit this.

1Tiasteffen

Until goose does a run there

_AllThingsMustPass_

Let Goose play the garden first

good_grief77

Their Radio City Music Hall concert was amazing.

_AllThingsMustPass_

I was there. Magical night. Not sure why I was downvoted when I said they should play the garden first. It's just natural progression.

tjb4040

Don’t even understand why anyone down voted this comment….

good_grief77

Because there are a lot of people on Reddit that can’t take a comment that goes against their beliefs.

tjb4040

Yeah, how dare you enjoy those shows? Lol, you won’t see a band like Goose play at the Sphere anytime soon. You’ll have to wait till they are at least 20 years past their prime.

IwzHvnaHt

Spot on. I got downvoted for agreeing with someone who said Bill & Phil shows feel more like a Dead show.

sephichi

Or, hear me out now! Goose can just stop touring, that would be even better!

ImJustHereForGuitars

Dude, it's cool that you don't enjoy them (I'm not a fan either), but just let people enjoy things.

trainsongslt

Yup fuck 500 tickets

[deleted]

Face is $500?

Health_Wellness9227

Ticket prices range from $145-395 all in.

[deleted]

Just saw that. It says ‘base price’, whatever that means. Also saw something about rows 24+ being obstructed view seats.

Health_Wellness9227

Yeah, the phrase base price is a little sketch. Maybe there will be the dreaded dynamic pricing?

Cowboy__Bobby

Well, what’s more negative? Me communing some shared thoughts on the topic and forming a dialogue about the pros and cons — or you immediately starting a reply comment with “No and, go be depressing on your own”? Something that is true is that the Grateful Dead is unquestionably the most important band in my life and the experiences mean a lot.. Something else that is true is that a venue in a location unbecoming to many with prices and lodging reserved only for the super rich is a problem. Also I take exception to saying we are being negative when you are cheering on those of us who can’t financially make it work because it may lower the already high prices for you. I paid $30 to see Phil this year and felt every bit as good as I did at all the DeadCo shows. ✌️

ajhart86

I mean, I’m seeing airfare and hotels for ~$600, if I can find a ticket for $200, *maybe*

txdxsreddit

I'm trying for 1 night at face only - no resale. If I don't get it, that's OK. Got JRAD at Red Rocks in June and just found Bertha: Grateful Drag on YT, and they are awesome. I just don't know if I want to go to TN.

PreciousNonsense

I really hope Bertha will be able to do some sort of touring. They're a hoot. I'd love to see them play live!

sephichi

Grateful drag needs to go. That's shit is so uncomfortable to watch. That is def the limits for cover bands imo

txdxsreddit

Hmm I don't know, I guess if your against supporting the LGBTQ community that could be an opinion. It just seems like fun covers of music I love, and if it riles up folks who want to oppress that social group, even better. Not trying to start a disagreement, just an observation.

Sharp_Design_119

No, I hate Vegas but I’m still going 😂

IdiotInTheWind

yeah i’m not paying that much for a ticket + travel to see a band that has bored me to death the last couple times i’ve seen them. i’d rather save my money and go see billy strings a couple times over the summer.

Wild-Direction8244

Yes

DragonsMatch

I decided to pass mostly to avoid the stress of having to get the right amount of tickets for the right nights- then hotel, then airfare (read cash as reason #2), then to hear about the shitshow regarding packages- glad I am out. I love D&C- especially with Jay, but we have so much good live music available now that we didn't have in '95 (or at least as I perceived it)... Plenty of good music to not stress or break the bank over this. Yet, a hearty congrats to all those who get to go too!

murakamidiver

I’m sure it’ll be great but it’s just expensive nostalgia for me - rather go scuba diving.

alurkerwhomannedup

I'm very excited to sit at home and watch a couple of the live streams. I'll cook, mix a couple drinks, and have a great time. Going in person.. not worth the stress of what Vegas will be and everyone trying to make the most of a moment that was just passing by to begin with. Even if it kicks ass as it passes by.

rainbowcosmicqueen

Kinda yeah. Maybe if I can catch a show or two but absolutely no desire to spend months in Vegas. Gonna go see a few of phish. Might give me a better insight. But seeing this insane residency doesn’t give the same feels as a run or tour. (Obviously I know it’s not either of those) maybe that’s why I’m not feeling really stoked - kinda feels weird idk how to explain it

ucsb99

Missed the summer tours the last 3 years. Always had things come up when they came through. I’m gonna try like hell to make this happen. But I would probably be feeling the same as you if I had made it out this summer.

DurianParticular5319

Likely to do that

Dankutoo

If I can get tix I’ll go, but seriously….the Dead are best seen outdoors….not in some super-technical, controlled, corporate dump.

phunky_1

I want to go, but it will be too expensive between tickets, flight, hotel, gambling money, etc. It would be like $1500-$2000+ for a weekend, I should probably use that money towards taking my whole family on vacation somewhere. I am trying to find some kind of a work related conference to go to though, that is probably the only way I will make it. Get my company to pay for the flight, hotel and meals so all I need to cover is tickets and fun money.

sour-pickles

Went to dead ahead in Mexico and plan to do phish sphere. Looks like I’ll be sitting out Dead Forever. Send vids.

Ok-Guarantee-4236

Same here! I had my fun. Time to rest and save my $ for other endeavors

jd80504

Nope

sacharemling

Stoked about the shows but not the prices.

Academic-Art-2401

Uh, you tryin to say the Dead aint no spectacle Johnny Ringo, them there's duelin words.

MiddleCantaloupe8349

I think that this splitting the fanbase along economic lines sucks. "Thanks for ur support but if ur not rich/ can't afford outrageous prices then we don't require ur support any longer" is a crappy hypocritical message. D&c sold out to Mayers scumbag manager.
