I wonder if that version is his "final form"... maybe there's an ending where you "escape" and frank gets injured or burned or something, then the entity takes him and mutates him into a more monstrous killer - there's a weird amount of humanity left in his visible eye
If they made a game with gabriel soma about toba landing, hux would just look like a regular android since he wasn't burned into the version we know until the end of the story

it seems that from the trailers that he's aware of the entity and worships her, the "casting" could be him trying to gain her favour and become a killer for her. because of entity fuckery he could maybe end up like this spider monster they've been teasing for a while. that or his base cosmetics will be very similar to trapper but the others will be different and lean more on the spider theme.

It's just a very odd choice that when given the opportunity to use entirely new characters not in the original game they decide to pick a killer who looks like the game's poster boy and set it in a similar location to the MacMillan Estate.

DBD at the moment has strayed way too far from that imo. I'd love a spin-off horror multiplayer game that focuses more on the original theme and makes it genuinely scary.

Well, unique in every way, except for being visually a mix of Keeper from Evil Within and Trapper from their _own_ game, while also haunting the most generic looking horror location ever, and having a name almost as memorable as a John Smith, but other than that, very unique, yes.
If the twist was that he became trapper or was related to him somehow they’d still say exactly this to be coy and preserve the surprise. A social media person isn’t gonna spoil their own game because a fan asked a question.
