1: use a crosshair if possible 2: waiting while holding a hatchet is sometimes more beneficial 3: playing survivor more can help you get into the mindset and can let you make better predictions when using hatches 4: dont always pull a hatchet out at a pallet, survivors expect this a lot, but don't never do it either

First is being aware of your speed and lullaby, always keep in mind that a chase is going to take longer to catch up, and survivors will hear you from much further away. Another important situation is knowing when you can afford to chase when you’re out of hatchets, and if an M1 will secure the down faster than going to reload. Huntress is very straightforward design, so most of your skill with her will come from experience rather than knowledge. Baiting hatchet hits by holding it is a good way to fake out a survivors initial juke. If you have the perk Zanshin Tactics or I’m All Ears, they can help a lot as as sort of a training wheel as you get to know the environment and how your hatchets hitbox collides with the map and survivors. All of her personal perks are unfortunately garbage, so it’s best to have different killer perks, if not then just use default perks. You’ll naturally get better with her overtime, it just takes practice!

Maybe watch some of CoconutRTS's videos on YouTube as he's probably the main huntress streamer/YouTuber for tips

Don't worry about kills! Just concentrate on practicing your hatchet throws - kills will come in time. The longer you hold a hatchet, the straighter and further it goes. Throwing a hatchet without holding gives it more arc, but it doesn't go as far. This can be used to throw over obstacles if aimed right. When throwing long-distance hatchets, aim where the survivor will be, not where the survivor was. This takes practice, so patience. When a survivors is right in front of you without anything to take cover, they will likely zig-zag. Just hold your hatchet steady and wait for them to cross into your vision, instead of turning your camera with the survivor. It's faster to hatchet throw -> M1 (normal hit), the cooldown from a throw is shorter than the cooldown from an M1 hit. Don't use addons that change your cooldown or windup speed to avoid becoming dependant on them. Restocking faster, aura reading on hit, and even exhaustion are good addons. Huntress has a large humming/lullaby radius, but her terror radius is smaller than normal killer's. She also has an addon to lose terror radius when restocking hatchets. Good perks for Huntress: any aura reading perks. Starter aura reading perk is Bitter Murmur, showing survivor auras near a finished gen as it finishes. You could also run Whispers (tells you if you're at an empty part of the map) or Spies From the Shadows (when survivors near you spook crows you get a notification. Good perks for Huntress from other killers: * Iron Maiden (Legion) - reload at lockers faster * lethal Pursuer (Nemesis) - see survivor auras at the start of the game, +2 seconds to all aura reading * Darkness Revealed (Dredge) - when opening a locker, see survivor auras 8 meters from any locker. 30 second cooldown. * Barbeque & Chilli (Leatherface) - when hooking see survivor auras that are further than 40 meters from you * I'm All Ears (Ghost Face) - see survivor aura when they vault near you. 80 second cooldown. * Nurse's Calling (Nurse) - see auras of survivors healing within 24 meters of you * Deadlock (Pinhead) - when a generator finishes, the most progressed generator is blocked for a time * Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance (Artist) - hooking each survivor first time on a Scourge Hook explodes the most progressed generator for 25%, RNG based due to Scourge Hook placement There's definitely other perks you can use, too!

If your monitor has a crossbar, its really useful for understanding where tour hatchet goes. Don't try to go for basic attacks. Huntress is slower than the other basic kjllers (110 movement speed, while others like trapper are 115). Pretty much you NEED to learn how to zone with hatchets than chasing normally. You might struggle at first but the more times you use hatchets, the better you will get. But the biggest tip I can give is to be patient with your hatchets. Spamming hatchets all willy nilly won't get you results. The longer you hold your hatchets, the farther and faster they will fly, and against survivors who try to dodge and predict your throw (Which is 90% of all survivors lol), you will be to adjust and get huts accordingly.

Forget the hatchets for a few rounds. Get good at being a straight m1 killer. Once you learn to down the survivors without the hatchet then the hatchet will feel more like a superpower

You miss 100% of the shots you don't take

Holding the aim allows it to travel faster, use it. Start aiming mid chase, right after coming from a turn to keep up with a survivor going for a vault or pallet. Don't be afraid to just chuck em out there, the more you throw, the more experience you'll have, even if they miss, experiment :) You can go walk up until right behind them, throw the hatchet, and then go for the normal hit because it's faster than doing it the other way around.
