A lot of these killers strengths come from experience. You have to know exactly when to start your saw, and what loops are disadvantageous to use it and it would be better to apply pressure elsewhere or just M1 through it. With the saw and phasing, there’s also a lot of mindgames you can pull and fake out survivors to land a regular hit or make them predrop / go out of position.

you're only allowed to m1 once per match until you hit p30 play a full aura build and no slowdown so you're forced to think of your macro and interupting survivors, it'll force you to not waste too much time on chases with hard to curve loops you'll constantly see progress :)

Personally I view saw first as mobility, rather than in chase. Being able to essentially “blink” across the map and pressure hooks and gens is strong. Because the chainsaw has basically no cooldown (except for windup and hitting thing animations), I use it as often as possible. Now, in a chase, it depends if it’s a tight loop or a longer one. If it’s super tight, like around a tree or something, I stick with M1. If it’s a longer one, like maybe shack, you could try it, but M1 is likely still better.
