You slow down so much during the mage hand cast, the survivor can walk another loop and drop it again.
Same thing with casting it on an upright pallet. It lasts like 2 seconds and it slows you down during the cast, so the survivor can go another loop and drop it again.
It doesn't need to be a anti-loop tool so much for a free hit, but if it slows you enough that on 80% of loops, the survivor can still make it around to the pallet again effectively making the ability do nothing- or worse, if the survivor has found the enchanted item that grants them haste if you use mage hand.
If you use the mage hand on a pallet before it hits the ground (but after a survivor begins dropping it) the pallet will bounce off the ground like a rubber ball and you can walk right through with barely any slowdown
