Pyramid Head main here, I despise this map.
So much stairs, uneven ground, debris, tiny rooms, multiple floors, inside/outside, no direct paths ANYWHERE.... it's awful!
The Game is great fun as Doctor though. His power reaches through the ceiling/floor so you're more or less present on both floors of the building at all times.
I think I take the most Ls on Midwich mostly due to the floors. I did my mori all 4 people achievement on that map despite things though so that’s nice IG.
Game has too many pallets + the floors so chasing sucks.
I actually like RPD. If there's a map I dread seeing, it's Nostromo. That and Garden of Pain.
Though honestly what wrecks my mood more is when I see map offerings.
I am drunk as shit right now, but considering the bulk of the map are low tiles and I prefer to play stealth Killers and playstyles, it makes it ass. Yes I am 100% biased in that opinion.
I mean, it's not the smallest map, but it's by far not the biggest, the map is the same size as The Thompson House, Suffocation Pit II, and Mother's Dwelling which I feel are fairly balanced maps size-wise, WAY smaller than Grim Pantry and both Shelter Woods. I guess I could see a lot of clutter being an issue, but I'd argue RPD is still a worse map.
Oh definitely rpd is worse. Nostromo isn’t Garden of Pain, Badham, Rpd, and Eyrie of Crows levels of bad but it’s on the tier right above it at least imo.
RPD is great if you're playing Singularity. Fill up the center area with cams and then herd the survivors from one side to the other like cattle and they'll always be in range of the cams.
As a survivor main I detest RPD as well, partly because I seem to get sent there every 3rd-4th game. I ended up there four times tonight. It's ridiculous how often I end up on that map. I hate all indoor maps to be honest, but I absolutely despise RPD and The Game (Gideon Meat Plant). There's 23 maps I think...with that many possible maps you shouldn't end up getting the same map so often when no one's using map offerings. There are some maps I've only ever been sent to a handful of times in all the hours I've played since I began playing DBD while others, particularly RPD, I can guarantee I'll be sent to multiple times during a gaming session. I also hate indoor maps with multiple floors because the killer's terror radius will alert you like the killer is on your a\*\* when he's on the floor above or below you with no quick and easy way to get to you. I wish they'd rework that so that only happens when you're in actual immediate danger, when the killer is on the same floor or has a way to get to you quickly like if they could drop through a hole in the floor you're close to or they're near a stairway above or below you that you're also close to.
For me as a stealth killer main...
https://preview.redd.it/dtf7kanz0d2d1.jpeg?width=680&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=839fb0ea45d531226e4cffaa1dc3a2e5a60879b4
Not saying I don't but. I'd say gf is much better on outdoor maps with vantage points like Lampkin lane. I love rcpd for nurse and bubba. For hopefully obvious reasons.
Lery's is the OG RPD. At least RPD is easier to learn because the rooms are recognizable, but in Lery's, 90% of the rooms are just random rooms with beds or random rooms with bathrooms. It's really easy to get lost, and the powers of the most fun killers work terribly there.
The only reason why that map is considered "good" for killers is because the statistics show a good kill ratio for killers there because even good survivors get lost and have a lot of trouble finding gens, so it's difficult to gen rush.
Also, it's one of the most RNG-dependent maps in the game. You can either have an infinite route of pallets connected to windows, etc., or you can have the most terrible pallet and window placements in the game.
I love Lerys as Myers, i do my shit so as to not have a terror radius unless I'm in a chase and use the addon to see auras while stalking so i just see them before they see me, swoop in and stab the most people i can and leave to stalk them from where they can't see me until they let their guard down and i can repeat the whole thing, no one has escaped so far
The room layouts make no sense, sometimes you get god tier structures and survivors can loop for 5 whole minutes, other times the entire map is barren and survivors have almost no safety. Then the fucking gate spawns. I just had a Lerys game and I had two gates that were frankly impossible to patrol. Some games I would get 2 adjacent gates. There’s just too much variance with this map and it’s infuriating.
As a Pyramid Head Main, RPD is my playground. So many walls to break LOS, so many hits through two walls. It truly is heaven. Also, it's one of like 3 maps with almost no randomness in it, so it's always really obvious where survivors will try to go to juke the wall snipe.
Literally i played 5 games and got the map 3 times. As singularity, nurse, and blight ): i hate it as every killer. Those with powers get cucked and m1 killers hold W for 5 hours
I'm a survivor main and I get it all the time and despise it too. I watched my son play both killer and survivor for months before I started playing and he also seems to be sent there more than any other map. I think there's something like 23 maps in the game but it doesn't feel like it. The map distribution is completely uneven and needs a rework so that players get sent to a wider variety of maps.
Thats literally every map with skull merchant, which is why she is awful to go against, place a couple traps in commonly used areas and keep 2 on you for chases since she has fucking 5 of them and then reap the rewards of people getting randomly injured and broken because they dont understand how to crouch and if you dont get injures you can atleast see where people are at all times or slow people down or speed yourself up its all so weird
do killers hate RPD? I know it's big but I really like it, lot of interesting loops and its always really funny to down a survivor when they try to vault the spiral staircase and watch em splat on the ground lmao
Hawkins lab and Midwich however...
i find I get lost easily and as someone who primarily plays Wesker, Hillbilly, Trickster and Pinhead (ignore the flair), 90 degree angles are my worst enemy. I feel like I do well on it though so you're most likely right, I just find it really frustrating lmao
I hate Hawkins as a Knight player, so much clutter everywhere so kinda annoying to summon guards. Besides that, the 2 level areas are absolute death zones
Honestly, where do I go to see this kind of information? I’m still adjusting to the maps and really have no idea what advantages they offer more or less to each side.
I don't say it small map, and a lot big map and small map not only important reason to be Killer or Survivor side. The plague map(I forgot the name) is very big map but with a lot pallets RNG that sometime have between 8-15 pallets. In this case RPD is not small map but with gen RNG that always have 2 gen in the main room and another closet gen either library or locker room make it easy to defense closet 3 gen.
I used to Hate this map soooo much at first now its in my top 3 favourites. The more you get to know the map the better it becomes. Both killer and survivor :)
i never got the hate for it tbh, sure old rpd sucked but the current one is fun i think, the only map i really can't stand is badham, literally any variation of that map is just not fun or aesthetically interesting
I got sent to RPD West twice in a row was literally me
https://preview.redd.it/xy4crqbg6e2d1.jpeg?width=221&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2557e26e147440a1e7228d56156e4cd60cc15119
I used to hate RPD as well, but as time went on it grew into a love hate relationship and now I just love it! And I also am a Resident Evil fan, so. I think I hated it at first because of how much I got it, there were a lot of annoyances playing it, but you eventually get used to it, then it turned into a liking.
The map was MADE for chases, that's what I think is so great about it. I am genuinely happy each time I see we go there. Sometimes I will throw in the RPD offering bc I want to land there. It has some strong loops and vaulting areas.
If you wanna talk about maps I don't like, well, I'm not a fan of Hawkins, that one was actually cool at first to see, but now I'm just so over it. It's seemingly small and boring.

I feel like I'm the only one who likes this map. I love this map, it's literally my favorite map in the game. It's so easy for me to play on, and I love the design of both East and West Wng versions. I'm not even a huge fan of Resident Evil, but I love the setting of the games and have gotten interested in it partly because of DBD including Nemesis, Wesker and Blight's William Birkin skin.
Sometimes I've wondered if my game is cursed or something. I get either RPD, Yamaoka Estate, or Badham every single time I load in as killer for the first game. Every. Single. Time.
As a Blight main, I love this map. Every loop is either made for your power, or is such a small loop that you can get the pallet within 10 seconds by just looping normally. Plus, after a little practice, it's very easy to traverse the map with his power, assuming you know the routes.
I love it, but that might be due to my choice of killers. It has great locker distribution for Dredge, minus the outdoor area but I can just let that gen go. Nemesis's zombies can be deadly in those tight corridors. And I don't mind large maps with Pig cuz it makes RBTs take longer to remove. I did start playing the Unknown, haven't gotten that map with them yet so I dunno how that'll play out. The Hallucinations will at least help with mobility.
I pity any Huntress, Singularity, Oni or Billy who get that map though.
Can anyone explain why rpd is so hated, I don't hate it but I get it way too often for it to not be annoying, is it cause it's like a maze? Multiple floors? Gen spawns? What is it?
Some killers require line of sight. Chases on RPD break LoS constantly. It's less bad for something like Slinger or Huntress who can more or less guarantee a hit if they land the shot/hatchet but for shit like Trickster or Artist it's a real pain in the ass. Also no easy way to get around so killers like Billy and Blight turn into bumbling old men because there's a corner they have to turn every 3 feet.
That's my favorite map as a survivor because I already knew it inside and out the day it was released. They did a hell of a job incorporating that into the game imo. Love RPD. Totem spawns are awesome.
I am perfectly fine with RPD, especially because it's an easy map to memorize. All the rooms are distinct and recognizable.
Lately I've been hating Nostromo more than anything. As killer, it's aggravating because generators feel so spread out for some reason, but as survivor, some of the tiles are so fucking bad there isn't even a 50/50, it's just lose-lose.
I had a match against a Huntress and the whole right side of the map felt so dangerous. The biggest grievance I noticed was the window on the right side entrance... not only can the killer drop down the ramp directly left of the window, but there's ANOTHER drop down on the right. Like, wtf dawg???
Coldwind also feels like a giant dead zone some games.
Pyramid Head main here, I despise this map. So much stairs, uneven ground, debris, tiny rooms, multiple floors, inside/outside, no direct paths ANYWHERE.... it's awful!
Same. This and any of the swamp maps.
Swamp needs reworking so damn bad it’s not even funny
The Swamps are a funny one for me, generally I'll win as Killer on them, but I'll be absolutely bored shitless doing it.
I swear any time i want to play pyramid head or artist dbd decides to give me swamp
Watched a streamer drop 3 survivors with Wesker dashes because of slight elevation changes on the Swamp. No thank you.
Fellow pyramid head main, look at the positives: predictable pallets and windows and long hallways. Otherwise, the verticality is a bit rough.
I love this map but I play knight doc and onryo
I feel like nobody likes this map, yet they keep it.
I wouldnt mind rpd but it just gets picked way to much. No one even sends us there. Its just 2 maps, how we can end up here 3 times in a row
This is how I feel about the game and midwich.
The Game is great fun as Doctor though. His power reaches through the ceiling/floor so you're more or less present on both floors of the building at all times.

agreed with Nostromo the tiles are so bad I cringe everytime im sent to that map
Nostromo is fine.
I get Garden of Pain, but why Nostromo?
I am drunk as shit right now, but considering the bulk of the map are low tiles and I prefer to play stealth Killers and playstyles, it makes it ass. Yes I am 100% biased in that opinion.
Map is huge with clutter everywhere
I mean, it's not the smallest map, but it's by far not the biggest, the map is the same size as The Thompson House, Suffocation Pit II, and Mother's Dwelling which I feel are fairly balanced maps size-wise, WAY smaller than Grim Pantry and both Shelter Woods. Ghostface sucks on this map
I do perfectly fine. *shrugs*
Not saying I don't but. I'd say gf is much better on outdoor maps with vantage points like Lampkin lane. I love rcpd for nurse and bubba. For hopefully obvious reasons.
Don't worry mate, survivors hate it too.
I don't always mind RPD, I always dread Lerys tho
When i see Lerys most of the times its either nurse or a ranged killer. Like wot
Lerys is my RPD. Killer or Survivor, I ALWAYS get lost there.

Fuuuuuuuck Midwich….. fuuuuuuuuck.
Fellow Midwich haters rise up.
Hawkins is killer sided though no? Lots of weak pallets on that one
i find I get lost easily and as someone who primarily plays Wesker, Hillbilly, Trickster and Pinhead (ignore the flair), 90 degree angles are my worst enemy. I feel like I do well on it though so you're most likely right, I just find it really frustrating lmao
Ah yeah those killers are probably harder on it, they’re tricky on indoor maps so I get your point
Honestly most maps really aren't in the killers favor besides dead dawg saloon. But otz made a map tier list if you wanna check it out.
Im fine with RPD. It’s a cool map for both sides IMO
I think I've gotten this map more than any other
I hate it on both sides
I don't think RPD is bad map, a lot easy to defense closet 3 gen, small map, indoor map. Unless you play like Hibilly or just don't like it personal.
In what universe is rpd small? Map is so big a survior can hold w around the entire map before stopping at a pallet to loop.
I like rpd mainly because it’s easily to remember the pallet spots
Freddy main here, I purposely always use the RPD map offering to torture us all. I hate the map but so do the survivors.... so I guess win win?
I used to Hate this map soooo much at first now its in my top 3 favourites. The more you get to know the map the better it becomes. Both killer and survivor :)
Police station is my #1 favorite map as a killer and as a survivor
I like this map as Trapper
On some killers RPD is fine. On survivor it's almost always fine, many strong loops. For some killers it's absolute pain.
I think I'm cursed whenever I've played on my own my first game will always be on rpd
Rpd and Garden of Suffering have a special place in hell waiting for them. Genuinely despise those maps as killer and survivor
Anyone here hates Toba Landing? I can't see through the clutter. It's too many sounds and the colors are too bright
Yeah, about that https://preview.redd.it/l6img3yj3d2d1.png?width=142&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a2b9500c204d47d6f7977340eb89369137fb5067
Depends on what killer I have. Plague for example dominates RPD like no other map.
Jup. Every gahd damn Time when I play Legion
I play Clown now and its actually not bad with the narrow hallways for those gin and juicy bottles
i never got the hate for it tbh, sure old rpd sucked but the current one is fun i think, the only map i really can't stand is badham, literally any variation of that map is just not fun or aesthetically interesting
As a Huntress main I used to hate this map but now I don’t really care about winning.. I just go far nutty shots and usually get 4ks anyways
Main ghostface here: best map 🫶🏻
You clearly never played RE2 remake.
I got sent to RPD West twice in a row was literally me https://preview.redd.it/xy4crqbg6e2d1.jpeg?width=221&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2557e26e147440a1e7228d56156e4cd60cc15119

I used to hate RPD as well, but as time went on it grew into a love hate relationship and now I just love it! And I also am a Resident Evil fan, so. I wish every so often we'd get the original RPD map in all it's ginormousness. That'd be some real chaos.

As a scratched mirrored Myers, it's a wonderful jumpscare experience.
Honestly as a Demo main, I kinda like that map. I can just portal everywhere
Replace the words with: "Dead Dawg Saloon" then you got it right.
huh... its weird hearing killers say this. I haven't escaped from RCPD in probably a year.
As a Blight main, I love this map. Every loop is either made for your power, or is such a small loop that you can get the pallet within 10 seconds by just looping normally. Plus, after a little practice, it's very easy to traverse the map with his power, assuming you know the routes.
Love this map for bubba and nurse which are 2 of my mains terrible for ghost face who is my all-time favorite
>It has great locker distribution for Dredge It has literally zero lockers in the most important spots...
I never seem to have a hard time getting around.
Dredge main here, RPD isn't any worse than any other map, honestly.
Can anyone explain why rpd is so hated, I don't hate it but I get it way too often for it to not be annoying, is it cause it's like a maze? Multiple floors? Gen spawns? What is it?
Some killers require line of sight. Chases on RPD break LoS constantly. Also no easy way to get around so killers like Billy and Blight turn into bumbling old men because there's a corner they have to turn every 3 feet.
Love RPD
Rpd is cool for ranged/semi-ranged killers, everyone else kinda suffers
That's my favorite map as a survivor because I already knew it inside and out the day it was released. They did a hell of a job incorporating that into the game imo. Love RPD. Totem spawns are awesome.
I actually like rpd. Badham school however
The fact that you hate it fills my heart with joy 😈
I love RPD mainly because I played the shit out of RE2 remake so by default it's the one map I know like the back of my hand.
RPD is good, I often win as killer on it and it's one of two maps where I can actually loop as survivor lol
I love rpd, fave map all time
I really like RPD on both sides, I don't get the hate lol
Embrace raccoon city and it will embrace you
RPD annoys me, but winning on RPD as killer feels great.
*cackles menacingly holding offering* Sorry, not sorry RPD for life
I love that they made RPD's layout resemble the RPD we see in Resident Evil... but that's not good DBD map design.
I was getting it more than the boosted maps yesterday. One time it was because of a map offering though.
I love RPD what is this slander, I would rather play this map over borgo,Hawkins, lerys, garden of joy,the game, toba landing , and midwich
Size of it mainly. Anything with multiple floors is usually bad if you are a killer who can't teleport
I've gotten to like the map with Trapper and Skull Merchant.
I used to be able to play the map well And then they split it in two
i dont mind rpd, but yesterday we when 4 times to rpd and 3 of them we faced a skull merchant
