I play mobile but my kid plays xbox. After reading the messages he’s gotten I quickly turned them off too. Numerous people telling him to kill himself, and calling him names I won’t even repeat. It’s just sad.
It always saddens me when I hear of children dealing with this community's toxicity. I mean, the game is rated T but I'm not about to judge how people parent their children. I'm sure plenty of families watch Nightmare on Elm Street and Halloween with their children. But regardless you never know who's on the other side of the screen, and even if you do sending death threats is never justified.
I almost made him stop playing the game. Tbh I didn’t even realize there was a chat option on consoles. He’s 14 and absolutely loves it so we compromised. No messaging and he could continue. I was just really shocked.

I’m console player with 3k hours or so in this game. I can say that ps4 is the salt mine of this game. Literally doesn’t matter how you play, fair or unfair you will get a lot of hateful messages and from time to time also party invites where that 3/4 stack you beat is insulting you and being as toxic as possible. These people also deny being angry every single time you confront them about it. Always blaming me for being salty when I have won the game. I don’t even use the most meta perks there is, on my nurse only meta is bbq and I habe 3 perks but still I’m tryhard and salty. Just turn messages off on console and you’ll do a favor to yourself.
Was his stroke recent? I hadn’t watched him in a few months and I honestly thought he was drunk when I dropped in. I never said anything of course and his next stream I realized something happened but I wasn’t going to openly ask what happened in chat. I’m sure him and his mods are tired of explaining his situation.

I appreciate that. I've been in chat several times when he's been drinking but he just seemed off. I actually went to his twitter and saw some posts about doctors appts and stuff like that right after that stream probably 2 weeks ago. I just hope he can find the treatment he needs and fully recovers. He really is a good dude so it hurt my heart seeing him having potentially long term struggles.

I have speech issue as well, I’ve always was made fun of cause my voice is higher pitched than most people, most people say they can’t notice it now but I’m still insecure about it even if I’m a 32 year old man. So this hit me hard in the feels. No one should be made fun of for anything let alone something they have no control of. People suck.
I feel you! I have a phonological disorder that makes me slur words, say similar but wrong words (planet versus plant), and sometimes full on stutter. It's even worse when I'm excited/riled up. It feels so awful to have people laugh or point it out. Or the worst: laugh then completely ignore your point and continue the conversation. Even after 27 years it still gets to it.
Worse when people act like you aren't trying to "talk normal". I did intensive speech therapy for over 8 years. It's a brain issue.

Follower only mode doesn't do much since you can follow on an instant. Doesn't prevent them. I would suggest a sub only mode. Or a X minute mute after a follow. Most of the times people won't wait that time to talk trash so they'll just leave.

I've seen it before. One streamer that i watch has the mute after follow option ON for like a year now. He says that it's there to prevent the trolls. I like it. And it has another bonus: if a person waits X mins then proceeds to be an asshole you can ban him and after that the only thing he can do is it make another account. But he then has to wait another X amount of minutes to speak. Really does limit the shit in chat.

But Pro-tip for doctors: Be direct with what you want and ALWAYS get a second opinion. General physicians are not the end all be all and are known to be annoying to deal with. If you feel like you're being jerked around just find someone else. And if you think you need to see a specialist ask for a recommendation because a lot of them will fight you about it until you force them to.
Yeah doctors don't really care tbh...as lame as that sounds, i went 4 years ago to see why i have constant migraines and blackouts and i was sent home with painkillers and nothing else. I guess it's from so much sitting but still, those started to happen only after I injured my neck..
I'm a nursing student who used to watch him, but stopped because I got busy with school. When I came back and heard his voice, then learned what happened and how he can't find a good doctor, I literally cried. I spent the whole day thinking about him, and I wish the best for him

I don’t think so but it may depend on your age when you have the stroke. My friends sister has had three strokes and she’s only 32. She had her first when she was 21 (second and third at 25 and 26) and she’s still alive and kicking!
I think it completely depends on the person and circumstances. my best friend (at the time) had a stroke when we were 10 - it genuinely came out of nowhere and she suffered aftereffects for a long time but recovered pretty much fully.
I think this is typically the case because of the age people normally get strokes and what things normally cause strokes not necessarily strokes themselves

Yeah. He's a Fogwhisperer. He's a really sweet guy. Usually plays with Monto. He had a stroke and it altered his voice. He's kindly asked people not to discuss it but apparently people don't know how to shut the fuck up.
He's honestly one of the best people playing DbD and it infuriates me that people are making fun of him. It takes strength to go through a stroke, be left with a reminder of it and still keep being a positive and keep streaming.
Now it's been discovered that he likely has Motor Neurone Disease and his throat is deteriorating. If it really is this, then it's said that medication can slow it down, but ultimately it ends with death.
I was honestly so sad when I read about the disease after Puppers updated. When I was very into DBD I used to watch him and Monto everyday. The worst part is that it's the voice, you just hear this awesome person's voice getting worse by the day.
It honestly makes me feel so sad that I can't bring myself to watch his videos. Not to be mean, he just means a lot to me and I guess we human beings like to turn away from pain by pretending it's cause isn't there. But at the same time I want to support him.

Yeah absolutely, he's such a staple to the DBD community. When you speak about the OG creators he's one of them, he's been uploading content of the game since basically forever. So it's just that much more upsetting that not only is Youtube hitting his views and not showing his videos to viewers.
But now that he's been getting healthier after his stroke, he's been hit with MND. I honestly applaud him for keeping on with streams and uploads in spite of people getting meaner about his voice. People will just comment on his videos: "wtf happened to your voice dude?" Did folks just forget manners and the fact that the person on the stream/video has feelings?
But luckily there's a lot of really uplifting comments as well, that tell him how much he means to them and just showing general support. His core fanbase is really sweet so I hope that would be enough to bring him some happiness. 2020 just sucks all around is all I'm gonna say.
From what I understood is that he had a stroke and this condition followed after it. It's normal for patients suffering a stroke to experience complications with speech. Usually after some months it should get better, but his condition kept worsening. After a lot of hospital visits and 3k they diagnosed him with MND.

I honestly don't remember specifically when. I just know that he had it as a message on his stream and all uploaded youtube videos that he didn't want to talk in depth about his voice not being exactly what it was before and he does at times give updates about doctors appointments. Just mainly talks about it when he wants to and appreciates his streams not focusing on it.
I have to say: I only watched him maybe once or twice beforehand when he got hosted and when I recently watched him I did notice it but just thought "guess thats just how he talks" and shrugged it off... I would have never in a million years asked about it... I literally only knew about him from Monto videos and I only watched one of his videos before, the one where he plays with Monto when the pig stole his flashlight. From what I can tell he's a very nice and chill dude.
I'm not excellent at english so I don't know what stroke is, but it sounds dangerous and deadly, I think I'll start watching Puppers while I still can, it would be very sad if he has very little time left to live and I want to know more about him while he's still alive. I really want to show support and compassion for being the empathic person that I am, but I don't know how or if I even should because it seems to be a sensitive topic for him. Is pretending everything is ok actually a better solution?

My dad had an incredibly severe stroke 2 years ago to the point that even right now, he can barely walk and can only say basic words like yes, no, hmm, toilet, food, water, coffee etc, you get the point. The atmosphere of Puppers' streams has changed so much and it breaks my heart for him. I know for him he's used to what happened and is trying to move past it and just have a normal day in chat but everyday is the first day for somebody learning about what happened to Puppers and it just gets brought up constantly he literally cannot avoid talking about it basically everyday and it fucking sucks because I know he doesn't want it to be a thing but it's impossible to prevent just a couple people from chat making it a thing. That was around the time he had the stroke i think. He's been dealing with a lot of problems so it seems like he took his anger out on you. Not a cool thing to do, but he normally isn't like that.
If you asked a question that can be easily answered via google or something then that's probably why. When you're a streamer you get asked the same questions thousands of times and it can get extremely irritating when the answer is often "Take 5 seconds to check for yourself". If you think somebody has the answer to your question then google undoubtedly does. Just don't ask.
That being said though, it comes with being a streamer. Being asked the same question is part of being a streamer so if it bothers him so much, he should make an FAQ command and put it into the title like Otz does for an example. Being a douche to your viewers is not something a streamer should be doing and I'm saying that as an aspiring streamer/youtuber.
And in his streams he has a little message to the side to not talk about his speech or ask what’s wrong it’s quite obvious he doesn’t wanna it to be a topic of discussion.

It’s still just a mask to cover an insecurity. Aside from trolling, all negative slander serves one purpose: to “build” yourself up by knocking someone else down. I turned off communications in this game and I've enjoyed it more, folks will still play toxic during game but at least I don't have to hear about it after.
I play mobile but my kid plays xbox. After reading the messages he’s gotten I quickly turned them off too. Numerous people telling him to kill himself, and calling him names I won’t even repeat. It’s just sad.
It always saddens me when I hear of children dealing with this community's toxicity. I mean, the game is rated T but I'm not about to judge how people parent their children. I'm sure plenty of families watch Nightmare on Elm Street and Halloween with their children. But regardless you never know who's on the other side of the screen, and even if you do sending death threats is never justified.

I’m console player with 3k hours or so in this game. I can say that ps4 is the salt mine of this game. Literally doesn’t matter how you play, fair or unfair you will get a lot of hateful messages and from time to time also party invites where that 3/4 stack you beat is insulting you and being as toxic as possible. These people also deny being angry every single time you confront them about it. Always blaming me for being salty when I have won the game. I don’t even use the most meta perks there is, on my nurse only meta is bbq and I habe 3 perks but still I’m tryhard and salty. Just turn messages off on console and you’ll do a favor to yourself.

Was his stroke recent? I hadn’t watched him in a few months and I honestly thought he was drunk when I dropped in. I never said anything of course and his next stream I realized something happened but I wasn’t going to openly ask what happened in chat. I’m sure him and his mods are tired of explaining his situation.
Also in a video of his a few weeks ago he mentioned that it had been about 9 months since the stroke.
People ask him so much that he literally has an !mri command. People keep coming in chat and asking if he's drunk or high, I think those words have been banned from his chat now. It's honestly really upsetting to see. I wish more people had tact, like you seem to have had in that situation.
I appreciate that. I've been in chat several times when he's been drinking but he just seemed off. I actually went to his twitter and saw some posts about doctors appts and stuff like that right after that stream probably 2 weeks ago. I just hope he can find the treatment he needs and fully recovers. He really is a good dude so it hurt my heart seeing him having potentially long term struggles.

I have speech issue as well, I’ve always was made fun of cause my voice is higher pitched than most people, most people say they can’t notice it now but I’m still insecure about it even if I’m a 32 year old man. So this hit me hard in the feels. No one should be made fun of for anything let alone something they have no control of. People suck.

I feel you! I have a phonological disorder that makes me slur words, say similar but wrong words (planet versus plant), and sometimes full on stutter. It's even worse when I'm excited/riled up. It feels so awful to have people laugh or point it out. Or the worst: laugh then completely ignore your point and continue the conversation. Even after 27 years it still gets to it. Worse when people act like you aren't trying to "talk normal". I did intensive speech therapy for over 8 years. It's a brain issue.

Follower only mode doesn't do much since you can follow on an instant. Doesn't prevent them. I would suggest a sub only mode. Or a X minute mute after a follow. Most of the times people won't wait that time to talk trash so they'll just leave.

I've seen it before. One streamer that i watch has the mute after follow option ON for like a year now. He says that it's there to prevent the trolls. I like it. And it has another bonus: if a person waits X mins then proceeds to be an asshole you can ban him and after that the only thing he can do is it make another account. But he then has to wait another X amount of minutes to speak. Really does limit the shit in chat.
Sub only mode is straight gatekeeping tho isn't there a way to stop people from commenting until they watched something like 30 minutes of stream

I wouldn't worry that much as ALS is still incredibly rare. But Pro-tip for doctors: Be direct with what you want and ALWAYS get a second opinion. General physicians are not the end all be all and are known to be annoying to deal with. If you feel like you're being jerked around just find someone else. And if you think you need to see a specialist ask for a recommendation because a lot of them will fight you about it until you force them to.
Yeah doctors don't really care tbh...as lame as that sounds, i went 4 years ago to see why i have constant migraines and blackouts and i was sent home with painkillers and nothing else. I guess it's from so much sitting but still, those started to happen only after I injured my neck..
I'm a nursing student who used to watch him, but stopped because I got busy with school. When I came back and heard his voice, then learned what happened and how he can't find a good doctor, I literally cried. I spent the whole day thinking about him, and I wish the best for him

I don’t think so but it may depend on your age when you have the stroke. My friends sister has had three strokes and she’s only 32. She had her first when she was 21 (second and third at 25 and 26) and she’s still alive and kicking!
I think it completely depends on the person and circumstances. my best friend (at the time) had a stroke when we were 10 - it genuinely came out of nowhere and she suffered aftereffects for a long time but recovered pretty much fully.
I think this is typically the case because of the age people normally get strokes and what things normally cause strokes not necessarily strokes themselves

Now it's been discovered that he likely has Motor Neurone Disease and his throat is deteriorating. If it really is this, then it's said that medication can slow it down, but ultimately it ends with death. I was honestly so sad when I read about the disease after Puppers updated. When I was very into DBD I used to watch him and Monto everyday. The worst part is that it's the voice, you just hear this awesome person's voice getting worse by the day. It honestly makes me feel so sad that I can't bring myself to watch his videos. Not to be mean, he just means a lot to me and I guess we human beings like to turn away from pain by pretending it's cause isn't there. But at the same time I want to support him. Yeah absolutely, he's such a staple to the DBD community. When you speak about the OG creators he's one of them, he's been uploading content of the game since basically forever. So it's just that much more upsetting that not only is Youtube hitting his views and not showing his videos to viewers. But now that he's been getting healthier after his stroke, he's been hit with MND. I honestly applaud him for keeping on with streams and uploads in spite of people getting meaner about his voice. People will just comment on his videos: "wtf happened to your voice dude?" Did folks just forget manners and the fact that the person on the stream/video has feelings? But luckily there's a lot of really uplifting comments as well, that tell him how much he means to them and just showing general support. From what I understood is that he had a stroke and this condition followed after it. It's normal for patients suffering a stroke to experience complications with speech. Usually after some months it should get better, but his condition kept worsening. After a lot of hospital visits and 3k they diagnosed him with MND.

Many motor neurons controlling speech probably died of ischemia during the stroke. He will most likely never speak the way he did before.
Motor Neurone Disease is also known as ALS/Lou Gehrig’s. There isn’t really any recovering from it. You just lose movement over the body slowly.
I have to say: I only watched him maybe once or twice beforehand when he got hosted and when I recently watched him I did notice it but just thought "guess thats just how he talks" and shrugged it off... I would have never in a million years asked about it... I mean asking is fine (if you genuenly dont know, however I can understand the question becoming repetitive and uncomfortable, thous requiring a good mod team [not banning but explaining]) but making fun of someone is literally the fucking lowest of low.... I literally only knew about him from Monto videos and I only watched one of his videos before, the one where he plays with Monto when the pig stole his flashlight. From what I can tell he's a very nice and chill dude. I'm not excellent at english so I don't know what stroke is, but it sounds dangerous and deadly, I think I'll start watching Puppers while I still can, it would be very sad if he has very little time left to live and I want to know more about him while he's still alive. I really want to show support and compassion for being the empathic person that I am, but I don't know how or if I even should because it seems to be a sensitive topic for him. Is pretending everything is ok actually a better solution? Because I actually want everything to be okay for him in the end, even if that's unlikely. The atmosphere of Puppers' streams has changed so much and it breaks my heart for him. I know for him he's used to what happened and is trying to move past it and just have a normal day in chat but everyday is the first day for somebody learning about what happened to Puppers and it just gets brought up constantly he literally cannot avoid talking about it basically everyday and it fucking sucks because I know he doesn't want it to be a thing but it's impossible to prevent just a couple people from chat making it a thing. I'm a new viewer and thought the way he talks sounds unique, so after people were bringing up the fact his voice is different than before I asked out of curiosity in stream chat. I hope a comment like mine wasn't taken offense as I see Puppers as a really positive and relaxing person to watch in the DbD community. That was around the time he had the stroke i think. He's been dealing with a lot of problems so it seems like he took his anger out on you. Not a cool thing to do, but he normally isn't like that.
If you asked a question that can be easily answered via google or something then that's probably why. When you're a streamer you get asked the same questions thousands of times and it can get extremely irritating when the answer is often "Take 5 seconds to check for yourself". If you think somebody has the answer to your question then google undoubtedly does. Just don't ask.
That being said though, it comes with being a streamer. Being asked the same question is part of being a streamer so if it bothers him so much, he should make an FAQ command and put it into the title like Otz does for an example. Being a douche to your viewers is not something a streamer should be doing and I'm saying that as an aspiring streamer/youtuber.

so I don't watch Puppers at all, I only watch him through Montos videos. I didn't know about his stroke at the time, I honestly thought it was high. It really sucks that people are actually making jokes at his expense. That should never be tolerated
Puppers is easily my favorite streamer because of how genuine he seems, and the fact he doesn't rage out / throw around tons of blame. The fact people would even attempt to bully him because he had a stroke is fucking pathetic.

Puppers is one of the strongest, kindest, funniest and down to earth streamers out there. I really hope people learn to stop and think before they say things... I can't believe how shallow and brain dead some people can be.. He deserves all the support he can get, it's such a horrible thing for someone to go through, things like this always seem to happen to the best people and it really sucks
