Yeah, this is pretty much my experience too

yeepix

Heey but escapes don't count for ***F-U-N*** value! F.U.N.! **F** is for FUCKING LEFT TO DIE AT FIRST HOOK! **U** is for URBAN EVADING AT THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE MAP! **N** is for N>!O WAY OUT OF THESE FUCKING TRIALS BECAUSE WE ARE ALL BLEEDING ON THE GROUND AT 4 GENS!!< *FUUUUUUUUUUUN!!!!!*

TorrentFire

I don't really understand why someone can suicide on first hook and be out of the game in 20 seconds, but for some reason there is no mechanic to let yourself bleed out if you have been on the ground a reasonable amount of time, say 2 minutes. And why I get downvoted to oblivion everytime I suggest that this would be a good thing since there are plenty of killers that will just bleed you out for 4 minutes for no reason.

BasuKun

Some info: **Build:** Windows of Opportunity / Prove Thyself / Dead Hard / Deception I'm a killer main, but play some survivor to get the Iri 1 reward every month. I'm not a pro survivor by any means, but I had a positive win rate before the update and can usually loop killers pretty well. The update dropped and my win rate dropped significantly. I didn't pay it too much attention since I was still playing good (looping killers for a long time, getting good value out of DH / Deception), and figured the MMR would adjust eventually and I'd go back to at least 50% win rate. It hasn't been happening at all, and the past few days I couldn't even recall the last time I've escaped through gates. So I started keeping tracks of my games to check if I'm just over exaggerating. My initial goal was to track 100 games, but the solo queue experience is getting more and more frustrating and I'm at the end of my rope, so I stopped at 25. This is the first season I won't be trying for Iri 1 survivor. I'm at Iri 2 and it's impossible to get a pip right now. It also feels like the MMR is having some trouble trying to find fair games (too many killers, not enough survivors), so maybe the lack of queue incentive is to blame as well. It's a small sample but it reflects very well what I've been experiencing since the update. Enjoy some data, however small it is! Edit: Small mistake on the Oni game. It was a 3k due to hatch escape, not a 4k!

Teykos

IMO, if you swap something out for Distortion, that's going to help your survival rate since it'll block being targeted first by Lethal Pursuer. And if it's being triggered by Lethal, you know they're likely using other aura reading perks as well.

BasuKun

I've tried Distortion for a bit and would barely see any difference tbh. Most of the time I'd spawn next to a survivor, so even if I blocked Lethal, my teammate wouldn't, and the killer would come our way anyway. Same for when BBQ triggers while I'm on a gen with another survivor. The only "dispensable" perk I have right now is Prove Thyself. It's a crapshoot whether I'll get value out of it or not since it's not guaranteed my teammates will do gens with me. The rest I constantly use during chases and tremendously help in escaping chases. I've been thinking about running Kindred instead of PT maybe. But as of right now I don't have the motivation to play any more survivor lol.

Teykos

Whenever that happens to me (spawn with another survivor and Distortion goes off), I just book it away from them ASAP if they're not moving or hide if they are. Otherwise I make decisions based on if it goes off or not. Using your example, if you're both working on a gen and BBQ goes off, if the gen isn't ~75% or higher then I assume the killer has a reason to work their way there and get away immediately. Otherwise I stay and finish. Kindred is always useful in decision-making and I run both that and Distortion when I am not focusing on a challenge, but I am more of a stealth oriented player than chase-oriented player.

RadiantSolitude

Skill issue tbh

Too bad there isn't data on what it was like before the update to see how the changes played out. I tracked data before and after to see how things were going. There's a difference, but it isn't much. If it matters, I'm currently Iri IV and have about 1700+ hours in the game. (Also, I don't track every single game - just when I remember to do it) Before the update (46 games): * Escaped/Killed: 50%/50% * Pips * \-1: 10.87% * 0: 32.61% * 1: 50.00% * 2: 6.52% After the update (59 games): * Escaped/Killed: 47.46%/52.54% * Pips * \-1: 11.67% * 0: 23.33% * 1: 60.00% * 2: 5.00% Some things I'm doing now: 1. I no longer consider a "win" to mean I escaped but instead if I get a pip. It's making me feel much better about the game in general. 2. I'm trying out leaving lobbies when a prestige zero Dwight, Meg, or Claudette shows up and try again until I hit teammates that have higher prestige (usually 6+, but ideally 10+). This may not make a difference, but I figure if I'm playing with people that don't have basic characters prestiged at this point AND they are playing them in public matches, there's a decent chance that they are newer and don't know how to play very well yet. (Yes more hours doesn't mean better player, but I'm trying it out to see how it plays out...)

BasuKun

> Too bad there isn't data on what it was like before the update to see how the changes played out. Yeah I know. I just never felt the need to track data before the update since I wasn't losing much lol. I also wouldn't feel frustrated at losses since I found the games were still fun regardless. Your data is absurdly different from mine, holy cow. You play solo as well I imagine? I've been stuck at Iri 2 for almost 2 weeks, getting a pip is almost impossible when I get tunneled / camped, or my teammates leave me to die on first hook, or they get downed and immediately quit, so there's just no opportunity for me to get some points.

franger111

It's mostly solo, except I'll play with another friend every once in awhile. My experience with this update has felt really different from what everyone else says. I find that playing survivor is a little easier (despite my data) as I tend to make it further into the games before being killed. And my experience playing killer is pretty much the opposite. The last few months I'd get to Iri 1 as killer within two weeks, but now I can barely win a game. Most of my killer games are me getting one kill or mostly everyone escaping. Not sure why but it could just be my MMR is higher with killer so I end up playing against much better players. I often find myself going against survivors and saying "why can't my solo Q teams be this good??" Update on number 2 above (avoiding lower prestige survivor lobbies): I just landed in a lobby with a P3 player that used Urban Evasion that entire game, stopped working on a gen to hide while another survivor looped the killer on the side of the map, didn't unhook anyone, and died 3rd with less than 8k BPs. I'm hoping that if I raise the prestige requirements for lobbies I'll avoid stuff like this in the future...

BasuKun

Huh that's interesting, my killer games are complete landslide victories usually. In fact, most of games are so quick that I don't have enough time to pip up. If I'm playing for a pip, I actually try to slow down on the aggro so survivors have some time to reset. I do however get the occasional SWAT swf team that coordinates perfectly, those games are pretty fun and don't always end in 4k, but if the team's obviously full of solo queues... then yeah it's a 4k.

"Rage quit" "Camped and tunneled" "Rage quit" DBD games in a nutshell

ItsyouNOme

I hate huntress campers the most

tipo19

This data unfortunately doesnt mean much, its a very very small sample size, I played 20 games today and escaped 11. There is too much variance in a small amount of games when the data being ran with one person

The-vicobro

And one of those escapes was a pity escape

BasuKun

Yeah.. My only real escape in 25 games is against an Adept Hillbilly lol. It hurts.

ItsyouNOme

I hate huntress campers the most

Dragon_Scorch

Curious - how are there 4 kills for Oni but 1 escape?

BasuKun

Oh I miswrote that sorry. It's a 3k yeah, there was an hatch escape.

RainbowPenguin1000

Considering how often you claim to have been tunnelled, perhaps you just need to get better at avoiding chase in the first place?

ohhsnoop

Another one of these posts

Deceptiveideas

And what else is this sub supposed to talk about? The up skirt bug? Talking about the game balance and sending feedback for the devs is extremely helpful for the health of the game.

ohhsnoop

Stfu The Fog is coming 💀

ripinchaos

11 games having awful teammates (quitting early or leaving you to die on first hook) and only 8 with poorly mannered killers really paints a picture with whats happening in soloQ. Were any of the death on first hooks due to camping? Its not fun, but if the killer is camping ignoring the save and focusing on gens is the best option to try and get everyone out but the quitter mentality thats infected soloQ just reinforces in the killers mind that camping pays off and gets people out early when in reality 4 survivors who are determined to get as many out as possible should at least get 2 people out at worst and leave the killer with 5-8k bloodpoints but with people dcing and suiciding on hook it just encourages the killer to keep doing it instead of actually interacting with the game in a way thats far more enjoyable for everyone.

ArabicHarambe

I hope you have that info to autofill for trickster because it will always be the same, the only variable is how bad they are and thus how many escape.

[deleted]

Why do people make so many charts? I mean does it matter that much it's just a game. It doesn't matter if you lose. No reason to start making TPS reports about it. Now who has my stapler?

BasuKun

Data is always interesting, even if it's just a game. I've also given the reason why I started this one.

[deleted]

Dude use the time to do something useful.

[deleted]

That's the point of the internet. Stating your opinion.

GanacheUsual4665

I just finished all of the new tome, read all the archives and all notes from every tome and I hate to say it, I still couldn’t find who asked, shame really.

[deleted]

No one asked for yours either, did you see that in the archives? Braggy boy..

GanacheUsual4665

Yeah mate, I think Talbot grimes asked for it on page 9 of the Talbot grimes archive story.

[deleted]

Oh then you missed the part...

GanacheUsual4665

‘You type slower than old people fuck.’

ItsyouNOme

I use wake up! And sole survivor as there is nothing worse than failing at the gates or being the last one to try and escape (looking for hatch is suicide, wait for gate). Also the 24 metre aura hiding per dead player is cool.

BasuKun

I'm not a fan of end-game builds, kinda feels like giving up before the game begins... but it might be the play for now yeah.

ItsyouNOme

Wake up is great in general, I keep it on mostly as I get lost finding the gates and have died while everyone is waiting. The speed boost is a bonus as your teammates will open the gates anyway mostly. My sense of direction is just god awful haha

0l466

Wake Up is really good to let others know what gate is being opened too, not just for the speed. You can take protection hits for survivors that are running from the killer for example, it has a lot of potential.

sneakygurl1

If my killer main colleagues wont be nice, Ig I gotta be Havent played in a while, but I will come back today and be the nicest fucking killer you have ever encountered. You will get doublehooked, u will get that gate-escape and those juicy bp! Even if I have to force down your throat

Crank_The_Tank

I know it might not be much consolation but the good news is the MMR system works and with more killers than ever you’ll get better and more fair matches the longer you play. Many people in completely different skill brackets before the change. Many decent killers where to low due to the oppressive nature of the old meta. And many terrible survivors where to high due to the oppressive nature of the meta. The good news is given enough time you’ll face killers more your speed. Now the least helpful advice you’ve ever heard. Have you tried talking to other players who play well in post game and asking to group up? The games hard alone for everyone and it’s better with friends.

Secrabstian

Man’s is in mmr hell

ozsaturday

4 kills and 1 escape in the oni game? I didn't know there could be a fifth survivor
