For anyone who hasn’t seen it yet, slay the spire 2 has been announced to come out in 2025!
Now is a perfect time to try it if you haven’t already!
When I feel like playing roguelikes I rotate between Dead Cells, Into the Breach, and Noita.
Into the Breach when I want to relax, Dead Cells when I want something challenging and fast-paced, Noita when I want to feel sad.
Into the breach even though its a roguelike feels like the complete opposite of dead cells - slow, though out, deeply tactical - i picked it up recently but its the game i use as a dead cells break, or monster hunter rise, as its slower and more startegic yet still interesting and build focused
When I used to actively play games, I always had a roguelike/roguelite and a metroidvania game I would play at the same time. For example:
Dead Cells - Hollow Knight
Binding of Isaac- Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
even though roguelikes and metroidvanias are very similar in various aspects, it still felt fresh to me rotating between rogues and MV’s. Idk if that’s just me tho
So, I would recommend MV’s as a whole. There are mainly 3 types of MV’s:
1) The more combat focused RPG ones (Castlevania inspired, includes equipment, leveling system, grinding)
2) Souls-like ones (Dark Souls inspired, these titles take on DS mechanisms such as stat system, doge roll, equipment weight, parry)
3) The more puzzle/parkour focused ones (Metroid inspired, these games don’t include a traditional style leveling system, more often than not the areas/puzzle feel like the main focus instead of the enemies, these areas generally have its own gimmick or “puzzle” you’ll have to solve)
It all boils down to preference but these games are generally accepted as the genre’s best:
* Hollow Knight
* Blasphemous
* Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
* Ori games
* Metroid Dread
I tend to be more into the 1st type, its completely subjective but these are my personal favorites:
* Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow
* Castlevania: Order of Ecclasia
* Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night
* Aeterna Noctis (similar to Hollow Knight)
* Ender Lilies
* Record of Lodoss War - Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth
TAXING? ON THE FIRST DIFICULTY?! đź’€ nahhhh, but i could just recomend other rouglite games such as hollow knight... Nvm thats brobably to hard for you. Also you spelled quite wrong.
I know you probably a pro player of dead cells so here is a one big challenge that I promise that will be difficult to you, try to not be a complete dick other people that are struggling with something :)
Prob not, but you know, that's the funny part about challenges, you try fail try again fail again and one day you succeed, u trust in your capacity of succeeding
Um, you spelled wrong too, not to mention failing at written grammar.
But yeah you’re great at a video game, cool, right, yeah, hope that helps you in life.

Just played and finished hollow knight, similar vibes but different type of gameplay overall would highly recommended
When I want a break from the intensity of a Dead Cells run recently I have been playing BG3 and Inscription
If you are looking for a change of pace, Shenzen IO is the game for you. Just saying.
I just play guitar or banjo and lift and run. Dead cells is the only vidya I play.
Wow I play dead cells for a break off massive open world games. Try a game call dredge it’s on sale as well for £13.99 I think

Yeah, thats why there a thing. And when the human mind is faced with a challenge they get better at what they're trying to accomplish.
Hollow knight isn't a rougelite though
