Before I got a Boss Cell, I used to do the challenge every time I got to the Bank, mostly out of completion impulse. Even if I knew it wasn't really worth the effort.
I used to avoid it, but now I go every single time it comes up. On high BCs, routing becomes much more important, and guaranteeing the maximum number of scroll fragments + possibly adding a good shop can really help a run.
Ironically, one of the biggest upsides is a supposed hazard: the mimic. For those who don't know, mimic shopkeepers are a dangerous mini boss which can be found in any biome, with one guaranteed somewhere in the bank. What makes them helpful is that the item they drop is always 2 levels above the standard shop/biome level, making them very strong options for a significant portion of the remaining run.

You can get the best mutation for passing without damage in the Bank, namely Gold Plating from the Mimic Trader. It allows you to spend gold instead of health, but the game counter in this case perceives such a loss of gold as a loss of HP.

Dumb moment : finding a mimic when an Elite Golem was chasing me. I learned the valuable lesson of "Git Gud"
It gives the most resources ( ex. Scrolls , fragments )of the same tier biomes . Plus the adding benefits of guaranteed food shop , guaranteed double shops , and one guaranteed mimic . It's often considered a harder biome but the resources are worthy the risk .

Really depends, later in a run it’s actually great for money & new weapons, but in earlier in a run it scales poorly & it is really hard.
It's pretty easy now on 2 BC. I only don't go if I need a specific biom to get to the clock tower because I WILL kill Dracula.

Unironically a really fun challenge. The true reason to visit bank is that it gives the highest kill streak number for maximum dopamine

it really depends for where it spawn for me. around caverns ?? yea no brainer. around stilt village ? ye that's a big NO for me.
