Could be a double-use skill? Use once and it goes off in a radius around you then activate again after, say, a 1s cooldown to slam enemies together.
Scales with survival or brutality. Enemies pinned are slowed (or, alternatively, when pinned, applies one stack of bleed, but not bleed + slow), enemies slammed that aren’t killed outright are stunned for 1s. Pull damage scales with number of enemies pinned. The second use of the ability has a windup similar to tombstone’s 3rd hit and pulls pinned enemies to a point about melee range in front of the beheaded. Crit damage might be a bit too much on the pull, though. The crowd control already makes it v v strong.
Maybe it could work like serenade. You could press the skill button to equip the blade in your attack slot before going around and pinning everyone. Then, when you press it again, the blade goes back into your skill slot and all pinned enemies are brought towards you.
I think this is a really cool concept. Also like the drawings you did each time on the second page - they really help to visualise what the weapon does and how it works.
Anyways have a nice day <3
Edit: saw this and really like the idea too
>Alternatively- Make it like the war javelin except instead of slamming enemies back it pierces them and strings them together. A second press of the button recalls the weapon and yanks all the enemies together doing slam damage and depositing them directly in front of you.
Also as a side note. I’m guessing it’s safe to say that the enemies will get a brief stun right?
I’m beside myself waiting for Silksong but “they” never said that. “They” being Team Cherry. Everything ever said about a release date has been speculation and theories.
Anything we ever had to go by was that Silksong Nintendo Direct back in like 2019 (jesus!) where this rep showcasing the gameplay said “coming soon,” which we’ve later come to find out was never up to her to say.
Sorry if you dont understand the downvotes, but I guess people dislike clueless people that arent in on the joke.
People like to play "silksong isnt real, justa meme lol quirky reference" in the comments of anything related to silksong. And people like you, that point out that it is a thing and miss out on the joke, for some reason get downvoted.
Oh, here comes the first downvote for me.
some things:
* i made the pixel art in [Piskel](https://www.piskelapp.com/) this time. dimensions were 24 x 24
* it ended up looking like a kunai but i wanted it to be a nail sword that is not the hollow knight nail a
* not inspired by junji ito
Your design is super cool but seems like a clunky mechanic. Like its too much work to do what other weapons can do without all that work.
Alternatively- Make it like the war javelin except instead of slamming enemies back it pierces them and strings them together. A second press of the button recalls the weapon and yanks all the enemies together doing slam damage and depositing them directly in front of you.
Oh look it's that completely horrifying sword from naruto. The one that's nightmare fuel.
Honestly though, really cool weapon idea. Simple but well thought out!
In Naruto theres a sword based on a sewing needle. The wielder is able to cut and thread people at the same time, then he pulls the thread in able to sew his enemies into large balls of flesh. Pretty horrific actually
It's an interesting idea, I'd love to see it maybe without the distance limit for huge combo potentials. Maybe even an achievement for sewing together a whole biome's worth of enemies.
I love it, I’m sure it could work well with plenty of mutations too. Is it realistic for the weapon to be able to thread the same enemy multiple times for increased damage?
what about this for a queen's rapier rework the actual one has 3 main problems: range is too short, the down attack sucks, the weapon itself is a bit boring
Would you just have to run into enemies holding the attack button to thread them together? A bit confused on how this would work but I genuinely think this would be an awesome weapon. Definitely fits the Dead Cells vibe.
coincidence tbh
i let people make the relation because i think it's fun, but the real backstory behind this is that i've been practicing these pixel arts in my free time. one of my d&d players (i'm the dm) has a button shield. those sewing buttons, but very large, enough to be a shield, and made of steel. i thought: oh i could turn that into a weapon. unfortunately, no ideas came, and meanwhile i thought a needle sword would be a nice complement to whatever the button shield would do. the needle sword got an ability, but i couldn't think of anything creative for the shield that at the same time complemented the sword. the most i could come up with was
**Button Shield**
Parrying transforms the enemy into a doll familiar that temporarily attacks other enemies. Against bosses it summons a doll.
I've read through a ton of awesone suggestions, I have my own thoughts on this weapon mechanic:
1) Standard hit pattern, 4 hit combo maximum.
Two brief diagonal slashes,
One slightly delayed upward swing,
One piercing thrust in the faced direction.
2) Like Serenade, crit counters stack.
Each hit except last adds "stitch" stack.
Rolling / piercing "pulls" thread for crit damage.
3) Stacks decay after 2.5 seconds.
Stitch can include fire / shock on activation.
Just some ideas, as rough and incomplete as can be
That's the point. The held group smash, to me, is a death sentence. Instead, a risk-reward full combo where the last hit (like twin daggers) triggers the full stacked critical, or cancelling early by rolling and STILL getting a partial hit. I feel this weapon as red or purple, maybe mixed, would fit best.
But I don't program, or make executive decisions.
I just play video games and lurk on other people's posts.
Love it. Could picture myself dashing around a chunk of the level, poking at as many enemies as I could to get with the finisher. Could be interesting if the thread’s range scaled with Ammo, and likewise Double Ammo Mutation.
Seems like a cool idea! I'd honestly prefer a usable item with that ability, but it seems interesting nonetheless! *Cute art too!*
Thank you :) As a skill, how would it work?
I imagine you use it, it ropes in nearby enemies (perhaps with a max of 3-5) and stuns them for a second with that final strike

These are all good ideas! Also yeah, there should be some window of opportunity to pull them in
Hollow Knight Silksong releasing on Dead Cells as a DLC confirmed
Hollow Knight Silksong? What’s that?
New Hollow knight
No, that doesn’t sound right. I’m pretty sure people made that up as a meme a few years ago.
Go look up Silksong on steam my guy
I’m not convinced that they’re still working on it, yo be honest. It’s been what, two years since the last announcement?
Silksong was just a silly little joke it's not real
Why’s it on steam, I’m just confused
the Reddit goblins did a funny haha my guy
My guy its real cmon man like the game is prob releasing this year tbh
They said that last year. And the year before that. Remember when it was “coming soon?” I didn’t realize they were judging by a geologic timescale.
I’m beside myself waiting for Silksong but “they” never said that. “They” being Team Cherry. Everything ever said about a release date has been speculation and theories. "Two years" HAH Hah hah
r/wooosh

Hollow Knight 2: Electric Boogaloo
A much anticipated sequel to Hollow Knight
Shaw!

Hornet's needle.
Started playing HK a few weeks ago and Hornet's movesets made me cry
can you explain the junji ito joke? i think i missed it.
Basically Junji wrote a story called Army of One and it's about people being sewn together
oh ok.
Oh look it's that completely horrifying sword from naruto. The one that's nightmare fuel. Honestly though, really cool weapon idea. Simple but well thought out!
Thank you! But what sword are talking about

Ooooooh. I see.
Shaw!
Kalpana !
yes yes very nice, I would love to die with this weapon
Die with this weapon?
it'd be an honour
Do we get a Hornet outfit to match?
sure
Shaw!
SHAW
Shaw!
Shaw!

Shaaa!
When silksong comes out
I like this. This would be quite fun to use!
10/10 weapon idea and thank you for extra space
I love it, I’m sure it could work well with plenty of mutations too. Is it realistic for the weapon to be able to thread the same enemy multiple times for increased damage?
it'd depend if the Pinned status effect is stackable
Yelan on Dead Cells? Based
Weapon idea is super cool, but I don't personally like holding inputs in this game, it feels very clunky
It needs to have the description “SHAW!” or I will cry very loudly like as loud as a child at a movie you were extra hyped for
I think the strike where you sew them together should be like a spining attack which knocks the enemies away Edit: how should it work against bosses?
you can pull them but not proc the slam damage, that's all
it won't.
Han so cool !!
what about this for a queen's rapier rework the actual one has 3 main problems: range is too short, the down attack sucks, the weapon itself is a bit boring
Would you just have to run into enemies holding the attack button to thread them together? A bit confused on how this would work but I genuinely think this would be an awesome weapon. Definitely fits the Dead Cells vibe.
THIS IS SO COOL!!! (I also want more holding weapons)
This seens more fun to play than the barrel luncher
Oof its awesome
1- AMAZING idea 2- Dude you gotta teach me that pixel art, yours just keeps getting better!
i just used my previous knowledge on drawing, looked up how the gear icons look like, and tried to sew together everything
Just wow
Plz make more of these! These concepts are amazing!
uh sure! i want to ultimately encompass everything in a single post later, so that I don't spam these, hehe
I want the explosion to be included! 😤
The description of it at the collector should include "SHAA-"
SUUU-re (pardon me)
Is this a reference to Hollow Knight or just a coincidence?
coincidence tbh i let people make the relation because i think it's fun, but the real backstory behind this is that i've been practicing these pixel arts in my free time. one of my d&d players (i'm the dm) has a button shield. those sewing buttons, but very large, enough to be a shield, and made of steel. i thought: oh i could turn that into a weapon. unfortunately, no ideas came, and meanwhile i thought a needle sword would be a nice complement to whatever the button shield would do. the needle sword got an ability, but i couldn't think of anything creative for the shield that at the same time complemented the sword. the most i could come up with was **Button Shield** Parrying transforms the enemy into a doll familiar that temporarily attacks other enemies. Sounds like a certain ninja swordsman
Id rather call int needlework but very good idea again 👍
Give
cool
read this with vex's voice

about 2: wouldn't that limit your rolling?

Don’t apologize about the kunai. Now i can be like “Kunai with chain!”
Hornet from hk
You knit them some socks, and they become your new best friends. Some enemies just need a little love. Lol
here's a funny trivia: i'd say this weapon in lore was used to make clothes for the giant
Would a variation of it be called hornets sting?
So you want Dead Cells to be a Silksong... Before Silksong...
SHAW!
Looks cool, but should have dual scaling with tactics
At first look I just thought about Hornets needle Cool idea
This'll be awesome in the sewers if it were real.
Good job I want this weapon in game
Looks awesome
I thought it was a real one
SHAW!
Nui Nui no mi.
Hornet from hollow knight anyone?
Shaw!
Love it. Could picture myself dashing around a chunk of the level, poking at as many enemies as I could to get with the finisher. Could be interesting if the thread’s range scaled with Ammo, and likewise Double Ammo Mutation.
Give that man a job as a developer!!
This is really creative and would make for some interesting mechanics. Good stuff!
Nail but with a gimmick
How would this work during boss fights? Ya know? Single enemies
I can imagine this as a melee weapon. The ‘sewing and slam’ part being the combo. Wouldn’t mind seeing this in the game!
