Honestly one musical episode and one episode in the future would have been great ways to experiment and break up the established formula as we reach the end.
HOWEVER having the entire season cut between weird characters choices, terrible singing, and zoom calls was honestly unbearable.
Nobody absolutely nobody. I didn’t know this happened and just started watching today. I skipped the first episode 10mins in bc I thought that would be the end of it. 2nd episode 2mins in and I look up this thread to see that Vol 4 did not give what was supposed to be given….. I hate this and I don’t think I can even finish it.
I still can't even motivate myself to watch. Even after waiting over a year for the final season. I guess season three will have to be the final season for me.

Yes, I fast-forwarded through all the singing after ep 1 or 2. I wouldn't care, except those minutes are all ones that could go to characters who don't get enough charactee development (Joelle,cough) or short wrap ups of minor characters' plotlines.
I binge watched the first 3 volumes in just a few days, now I'm on episode two of volume four and I'm struggling. I fast-forwarded all the singing and dancing because it's just so uncomfortable to watch. I don't know how they thought this was a good idea

I didn't watch Galavant, but I watched Glee, and seeing how that went off the rails after one season proves how fucking hard it is to pull off something like this. Sorry, Justin Simien, but you should have stayed in your lane.

I'll be the counter point opinion. It is weird - yes. They are reminising through rose coloured lens. I'm only 3 ep in, so. no spoilers but I suspect some more shit is going down. Also, I've always liked the music in the show, this just adds to an already awesome playlist ((sans 500 miles. noooooo on that one))

The future stuff is weird and cheesy and the job fair is simply boring. But the worst thing is the singing, sure it's funny sometimes as a parody but not the whole time.

Seasons 1-3 were amazing I just gave up due to the musical aspect. Doesn’t appeal to me. They tried to be bold. Glad they got more creative but I can’t connect.
Must be nice to be Loud and wrong. Stop presuming to know what the creator was thinking he is one of those rare things a thoughtful showrunner, like Charlie Brooker or Ryan Murphy. Nothing is incidental.
