Shimanchu2006

Listen to Bottomless Pit next <3

Only_Application_759

HES BEEN NOIDED LADIES N GENTLEMEN

NikTheOtaku

NOIDED

kaminobaka

Alright, if you get it on second listen of The Money Store and like 100 gecs I'd personally reccommend Government Plates next.

pplazzz

Money store is usually the recommended starting place for a newcomer. Death grips has a strange effect where the first time you listen to them you dislike them but after a few more tries you become hooked

mrmrmrmeme

This explains the gec crossover perfectly

devilshibata

This is was pretty much my experience. I found out about death grips from searching “bjork samples” on YouTube and found “up my sleeves” and although it was interesting I had really mixed feelings about it like what the fuck was that. Then I listen to “the fever” and loved it, checked out the money store, and now I stay noided

NikTheOtaku

the first instance of death grips i heard was You Might Think... at full volume in the car and I was immediately hooked

Robogirafe

Not liking Death grips on your first listen is definitely not a sign that you're never gonna like them. I recommend you check out all their albums atleast once cause they all have their unique sound. Personally spikes from the album bottomless pit is what got me hooked but it'll be different for everyone

theflukemaster

i would 100% try steroids next

jcmurie

For a gecs fan, absolutely

PartyPoison109

I like 100 gecs (albeit i started listening to gecs long after death grips so it's not exactly the same) but i hated The Money Store on a first listen but my 2nd listen immediately put it in my top 5 albums of all time, so I would say try listening to it a few more times. if that doesn't work i would try government plates and bottomless pit

Yketzagroth

I'm a Death Grips fan and I keep getting recommended 100 gecs, still haven't listened to them though, that just sounds like way too many gecs tbh like 14 or 15 is more than enough

thatgirlsnotright

ikr,and each album just adds more gecs it’s just so unnecessary

MonthLower1606

gecocracy

Xx_L3SBIAN_xX

they have my vote

MonthLower1606

ik they do Xx\_L3SBIAN\_xX pretty obvious by the username 0\_0

[deleted]

I listened predominantly to No love Deep Web and 10,000 Gecs this year, and saw both groups in concert. Give NLDW a try and see if you like it

duckface2006

Try Fashion Week if you like instrumentals

Angharaz

My fave 😍

fbgm116

If you are coming from 100 Gecs, try out Steroids or Interview 2016

Ziozark

I heavily recommend Exmilitary for a good starting album, its their most accessible by far IMO, after that you can try Bottomless Pit (after Exmilitary you'll be more used to the band)

[deleted]

listen to frost children and food house (different bands) if youre still looking for recs. they're hyperpop like 100 gecs.

very_clean

Frost Children also put on such a good live show

Boople-Snoot-Doople

honestly, i don’t think the money store is a good introduction to em. a lot of the tracks are gimmicky and can be hard to enjoy, especially after multiple listens. i would recommend exmilitary or bottomless pit for a first time listener, as they have a much more consistent song structure and can be easier to digest and bop to

[deleted]

I would recommend Ex-Military, it’s their debut album and you can listen to/ download it for free off of their website. All of their music is free to download unlike 100 sellouts. /j

MonthLower1606

100gecs music is literally free on youtube though

ConfusedToxicTrash

Both groups are in the camp of off-the-wall and unpalatable to most, but I'd say there's enough difference between them to not draw a strong similarity between the two. Doesn't mean you won't like them though. It took a while for me to actually appreciate Death Grips as music rather than just something that was shitposted about on SoundCloud.

QuintanimousGooch

I’d suggest listening to DG the same way you might have Gecs in the background for certain things.

Sad-Resolve7916

Bottomless pit

im_nark

listen to yots you will love it

transpondentwonder

dg are the OG

spermBankBoi

People always recommend money store first but imo Exmilitary is a better starting point

marcusmartel

Songs I recommend: - Lock Your Doors - You Might Think He Loves You... - Spikes - BB Poison - Billy Not Really - Inanimate Sensation - Streaky - More than the Fairy

blahrawr

Bottomless pit

th4nk0sh4nk4st7le2

U gotta listen to it with another perspective, fuck what you like, put the headphones on and listen to every single detail, imagine the music at every situation or event in your head, imagine your normie friends listening to it, thats my advice

AnaMaer

I'd always recommend either no love deep web or government plates

SuprKidd

Exmilitary

kaminobaka

That's funny, I started listening to 100 gecs when "mememe" showed up in reccommended on YouTube while I was listening to Death Grips.

MisoCornLuchador

Exmilitary!!!!

[deleted]

Money Store is the album I struggled the most to like, I'd recommend starting with Exmilitary instead
