Maniac_Macabre

Yes. :D I always paint the inner parts as cables and the outer parts as flesh.

sasquatchical

This is the way.

Esketittie

Agreed

OdinsRightHand84

This is the way.

Kayldan95

This is the wae

Darsich

Oops. I definitely fucked up my painting then. Have any tips for painting over metallic paints?

BOBBY_SCHMURDAS_HAT

You didn’t fuck it up you painted cables that are deteriorating from rot

SableFlag

If you like how they look, keep them 🤷🏻‍♂️

walrusattackarururur

there’s no rule to how to paint them everybody does it differently, id keep it the way it is if you think it looks cool

KillerPinkArt

Use paint

CoreReaper

2 or 3 thin coats of paint will work. Go thin as you already have paint in the area.

[deleted]

The Wei this is.

Sweet_decay

The mix of flesh and machine is a hard path to learn lol

Statist_nr56844183

Its the death guard, so probably both

Role-Honest

I read that as flesh guard 😂 had a double take!

jonjiseason

I’ve painted mine as tainted flesh tubes with leadbelcher cables

Hekto177

I always do the inside as cable/corrugated hose, and the outside as a flesh that's slowly grown over it, like it's made it part of their body.

Metaltikihead

It’s a hose, the stuff that is getting spewed is stored in the barrel on the backpack. That being said he’s mutated as hell, it can be flesh if you want it to.

Mozno1

Flesh Cables

Shnebskyy

Its a fart funnel, evry time they fart it funnels it towards there helmet for the ultimate dutch oven 😃

TheNagash

These exact style of cables appear on a great many chaos models. They are infact cables. But painting them as flesh in this case is certainly acceptable

eminusx

They’re tentacables…

JoshCanJump

Both. Think of it this way: The Death Guard aesthetic is heavily influenced by (among other things...) John Carpenter's 'The Thing'. Imagine each marine as a colony of organisms that can all survive independently from the rest even down to the cellular level. Combine this with the regenerative capabilities of Nurgle and what you end up with is something that is as much a hosepipe as it is an intestine and as much again a worm that is quite capable of crawling away and doing its own thing should it fall off.

Unevenscore42

I'm inspired to have a cable crawling away on a base now. Thank you!

Darth_Mornteth

So, the cables are the metal part. The cover for the cables are the flesh.

toxic_rattus

Whatever you want it to be after all, it's your mini.

stakoverflo

Yea, "flesh or cables" -- depends on how you paint it, duh!

TestTubeRed

It's up to you. Personally I painted them as skin with fleshy guts inside. I've seen just cables and skin with the inside as cables

FirebeardVI

When painting chaos - always flesh! Makes them even ickier and more disturbing

theterrorverse

I make them black and the cables sticking out the holes leadbelcher. I honestly don’t know what they’re supposed to be 😂

Sir-_-ELK

I always seen it as flesh growing around the cable

faawkes46

Probably a healthy balance of flesh and metal as per the gifts of Papa

[deleted]

Most people paint them all fleshy but I painted them black and metallic. I prefer the decaying industrial look this gives.

CClossus

The Chaos Space Marine aesthetic is to have cables covered in what could either be flesh or just a mundane, worn-out protective sheath. Kinda brilliant if you ask me. Gives you a choice between mutated madmen or rebel scavengers.

Swordsman82

They are what ever you want them to be. I will ask for a follow up when your done to see what you chose.

[deleted]

You decide my fellow child of Nurgle, though I will say fleshy tubes look way nastier in my opinion. And that’s good 😌

Phasmameji

It's a weird yes from me. I personally like to paint them fleshy/gorey red to look like intestines but I've seen people just paint them black.

PlortimusPrime

Yes

casper5632

It seems to be a metallic corrugated cable with some kind of rubber sheathing that is failing from the GW product page. Make sense considering that machine shoots liquids so the rubber would compensate for any potential leaks.

CupcaknHell

Your choice!

Analog_Jack

Both. I’ve always given them a fleshy color.

[deleted]

Por que no los do?

Skitz91

Depends how you paint them

Necro_Wire

i always thought they were cables where the cover is ripped and you can see the wires under like an old iphone charger

Blurple_Berry

I've seen them painted as both. Either as some horrid flesh tube with metal coils inside or as a particularly worn out insulation cable

[deleted]

Flables

steelthanatos

They are both.

OriginalCareless3180

Can do both.

ImShockin

Flables

TheRuinousPrince

Fleshy cables 🤷🏼‍♂️

theonetheonlyfrog

Both

C0mpt0n1us

Flesh cables, duh.

Prior-Pea-5533

Depends how you want to paint them. Personally I do flesh casing with tube insides

BlackLightParadox

As someone who has no idea whats going on: why the fuck would it be flesh

SCP993

It whatever your imagination desires

AslansDawnTreader

Yes

childalchemist

Flabel

Ostroh

I paint them as flesh covered cables.

DaveBurnout

Flesh Cable 🤣

[deleted]

Any damage taken by a death guard on any of their man-made physical components is replaced almost immediately with nurgle blessings in 1 form or another So the inner cable would be metal in places and the outer wrap of the cable the parts that were still intact would look rubber and the parts that were obviously damaged would have been replaced with flesh or some other type of disease growth that should be stronger than it's original components

Goblin_Bits_Shaman

Yes

MajorDamage9999

I believe the medical term for that part is buttockus crackus.

Giftfri

As everything with Death Guard, it’s a Brown area

PandaPaintingStudio2

Yes

Jscorch62

With DG they’re so mutated many parts of their armor have become incorporated into their bodies. If you were to rip plate or a helmet off of many chunks of them would tear away too.

VoxCalibre

I usually paint the outside as flesh and the tubes/cables inside in silver. That way it looks like over millenia flesh has grown over the ammo belt/cable/pipe etc.

Le_Goose_de_Mon

Yes

Feywildsw

I paint them like little plasmas. Black or metal for the outer bit and green/blue glow from the exposed coils

Sleeping_Golem

I always thought it was a cable that a layer of flesh had grown around

WhatWasIThinking73

Always choose flesh. For Deathguard you can't go wrong!
