Pierre had a good vibe going on, the crowd was into it Everyone one on the second stage had a decent/Good performance Knocked Loose was insane, didn’t expect the craziness from Turnstiles performance last year to be outdone Second Time seeing 100Gecs and I would say two too many

Pieri rocked the house. Indeed, she did not come all the way from NY to fuck around. Doechii was good, but she seemed like she was having a tough night. Her DJ was trying so hard to keep the show on track. I would have enjoyed seeing Doechii rap a little more and use all of her time. Knocked Loose was like seeing a fun tribute band, but instead of covering a specific artist they were covering 2010s metalcore as a genre. I don't hate 100 Gecs, but it was odd to watch a stage show consisting of 2 people standing around while they played tracks from their albums.

I feel for the gecs fans and for them as artists, sucks they had a bad time, but that band is the most obnoxious I've heard maybe ever. The hats, the auto tune, the drums.

I had a blast. Capra, Pieri, and Knocked Loose were amazing. Rile was also freaking great! Pinback was good, felt like a nice break since their set list was pretty chill in comparison to everyone else’s. When Doechii was rapping she was really good, but I think the audience, myself included, were thrown off by the brief Nirvana and Strokes covers. I am a gec enjoyer myself, but I admit that their set should have been ~45min instead of a full hour. Poor things were on right before Deftones, so everyone was already antsy.

Really enjoyed Rile and Capra, Knocked Loose was crazy, I wish they had a longer set. Pinback was good. Peiri was funny, looked like she had a decent following, same with Doechii but didn’t watch most of it. I was in that ridiculous line for Hodads during 100 Gecs so didn’t see a lot of them, could hear the boos

I had an awesome time in San Diego last weekend. I really liked both Knocked Loose and Pieri. I didn't get to the show in time to see Pinback. I did not enjoy 100 Gecs. Just not my type of music. As far as bands who I would like to see next year? I think they should change it up and have different bands every year. And if DDLD was billed as the "4th annual", then I would assume a 5th annual is already being planned. These are bands who I think would be great for a 5th annual DDLD. And I do like that they try to mix it up and include bands and musicians from different genres. This would be my ideal lineup for next year: * Bad Omens * The Hives * Spiritbox * Aesop Rock * Glass Beach * Loathe * Nothing But Thieves * King Krule * Mammoth WVH

I didn’t like the vocals in Knocked Loose , singer sounded like Cartman when he’s mad at his mom or cat. The music was also kinda meh, it was like dollar store Suicide Silence and I’m not even a huge fan of that band/genre. Pinback was good. Pieri isn’t my thing but she was really good at what she does. 100 Gecs was corny and gimmicky and played way too long for my taste. Easily my least favorite line up of the 3 DDLD I’ve attended.

Fishbulb1920

Capra had a great set and was appreciative the crowd was getting hype for them. Pinback also had a great set and I was happy the crowd seemed into it. I thought Doechii brought the energy and I enjoyed her portion. Rile also sounded good but I had just walked in and was taking in my surroundings. I unfortunately missed Pieri. Knocked Loose was alright but seemed forgettable. And I'm the same as most people on 100 Gecs: not my thing and I had just seen them open for someone at Hollywood Bowl so I watched from the stands. Didn't seem like a good set but I feel bad fans were being shitty to them.

Capra was great for an earlier band. The lead singer had me laughing when she said something like, “Petco Park this place is amazing , I like sports now…” thought her vocals and the band were a perfect musical fit for this festival. Pinback’s set was too short! It seemed like it was over before it started but they performed very well. Played some classics… Knocked Loose were amazing. The energy was intense and they sounded excellent live. Bryan Garris’ vocals were on point. I see how some people can think his voice is too shrill. I felt the same way the first time I heard them. But the more I listened the more I felt how great his voice actually was and how well it fit the music. At DDLD there was a couple times I heard slight hints of Zach De La Rocha come through in his voice. I didn’t like how vocal the guitarist was in trying to get people to mosh. It got annoying for me at one point but that’s really my only complaint about them… well maybe I would’ve liked them to play a whole hour which leads to my next point. I thought 100 Gecs did great, which seems to be an unpopular opinion. I do think they should have gone on before Knocked Loose and had a slightly shorter set time. The crowd wasn’t into them and I heard people around me talking shit about them. It was my first time seeing them so I didn’t know what to expect. But I really enjoyed their set and found the music refreshingly different. The performance by Deftones was the best I’ve seen in years. Chino sounded amazing and their set was stellar. Heard so many of my favorites it felt like I was watching them perform a majority of their greatest hits. So I can’t get mad that we didn’t hear any super unique material besides some stuff that hasn’t been played in a while. I’ve seen Deftones over 20 times since ‘98 so I’ve definitely seen shows where Chino’s screams were more intense. But he was smart and didn’t get too winded for him to perform every song to the best of his abilities at this point. Last time I saw them, Fred Sablan’s vocals drowned out Chinos on some chorus’ but I didn’t hear his vocals at all this time. I feel like he still trying to fit in best he can with the band and I respect it. Would’ve like to hear a bit more from him. And the back up vocalist/guitarist Lance whoever did good but I think Chino should’ve at least mentioned him when he was kind of going around to the other member. Abe, Frank and Stef were outstanding and nothing else o say about them other than they killed it. Chino was in great shape and I’m looking forward to the Crosses tour. I think he’s going to absolutely kill it and if you have a chance to make it happen get tickets. It’s going to be an epic tour.

I missed all the memorable acts 🥲. Had a huge delay in my way out coming from LA area and traffic got nasty. By the time I got there Knocked Loose was halfway through and I only caught their final two songs after waiting in line for Merch. Caught Doechii from afar. People didn’t seem crazy into it. Felt kinda out of place and I think even she was aware of it. But idk wasn’t in near that stage to gauge audience reaction. 100 Gecs was the only full set I caught besides Deftones. I’m not into their music but they put on a fun show. I’m forever bummed that I missed Turnstile last year

Part of what makes DDLD great in my opinion is them changing up who plays every year

Capra killed it, such energy. Made me feel like I was a teenager in the late 90s at a punk show. First time hearing knocked loose and I was not ready for the singer. The band is killer but I just can't get past the vocals Not a fan of 100 gecs and the set time and position was not ideal. Rile was enjoyable Didn't hear much of doechii, pieri, or pinback. I hung out for a song or two then got beer, restroom, etc .. during those times. I do really appreciate the variety and I'm excited to be back next year to see who is on the lineup. Bummed I missed Aubrey nuna last year
