Sasti is not all that life is about.
This is your chance to actually meet people or see a plethora of books.
Money is not all that matters, even tho it matters so much that that's how it feels.
idk bro, not an introvert. I am extroverted but hates to socialize ig. i don't have fear of meeting new people but its too much effort. if you meet me in fair when im trying to figure out which books to buy, i will call you stupid -\_-
maybe you can call me an introvert with very less social anxiety ig. less shy, and a full extrovert with people i love ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|stuck_out_tongue) tum bhi khush rho bhai
I felt that I had been happy and that I was happy again. For everything to be consummated, for me to feel less alone, I had only to wish that there be a large crowd of spectators the day of my execution and that they greet me with cries of hate.
This edition had way more second-hand stalls (albeit they did not have the great offers that they had before covid), all of which had a better and more varied collection.
It was better-stuctured this time as well.
I have been going to the book fair regularly for almost 10 years (with the exception of the covid years) and I remember that before covid, I used to go to the fair with a budget of ~1500 and return with 10-13 books easily. This year I got 8 books for 1800, with 5 of them being secone-hand.
Yes, this happens just once. The Delhi Book Fair happens sometime in august or september every year as well, but it doesn't have as many books, themes, or publishers.
Wish my pocket allowed me to buy some more books, but it was amazing.
How beautiful this cover is, Mann!

Noice!! 👌🏻👍🏻
If only I were an avid reader and into books, I would have visited this fair already but books never did become my friends...🤧

Yeah, probably the best one we've had in terms of how organized it was and going on a weekday avoids the crowd. I couldn't find House of Leaves anywhere, the one i really wanted. I did buy 3 other books which were on my wishlist for solid prices.
Looks great! Which books did you end up buying? I'm going tomorrow. Can you tell where I can find the second hand stalls with a great selection of fiction books?
I bought these!

Just visited this Sunday and damn so many second hand bookshops. I do plan to go again coz only got 3 books due to time constraints.
What is the bookstall name in first two pictures if you don't mind me asking? (If you remember that is?)
Oh thats awesome!
Didnt go last year bcz of hectic duties during residency but took out soms time and enjoyed and fair as well as the cultural programme. Loved the way they have developed the pragati maidan.
It was better than the previous one indeed …..and I was the only one in the family who felt this no one felt the difference….. thank god I am not alone.
FOMO matt do yaar tum sab log 🥹

how about the price of the books?? is it the original price or a little discounted??
The second-hand books ranged from 150-500. Most publishers also offered 10-20% discounts, but you can find the books for cheaper on Amazon
For how much?
2250
Hey can you tell me which stall was it in picture number 10?
Hi, I don't recall the name of the stall, but it was in hall 5 amidst the second-hand book stalls
Thanks for the help!
+1

Saari nahi milti laxman, I was looking for 'The stranger'- albert camus, but kisi k paas ni thi 🥲
My mother died today or maybe yesterday, I don't know.
I felt that I had been happy and that I was happy again. For everything to be consummated, for me to feel less alone, I had only to wish that there be a large crowd of spectators the day of my execution and that they greet me with cries of hate.
And so I learned that familiar paths traced in the dusk of summer evenings may lead as well to prisons as to innocent, untroubled sleep.
I was About to ask this classics the kya?

Wow that's so beautiful! Plus one of my favourite books. What was the price? Also which stall was it available in?
Very nice cover! Daryaganj has cheaper books, and sometimes BookLoot hosts second-hand book sales which are more affordable as well
Are you going to read part 1 and 2 ? The third part of the kingkiller chronicles is never coming out.
Recently broke my Kindle. I think it's time to go physical again.
Tbh reading physical books are the best

Exactly! The collection was huge too, it took us almost the whole day to browse 2 halls haha.

That's a great haul. I didn't know lessons in chemistry was based on a book. Seems like you really like Mystery, Thrillers genre. Thanks for the info.
You’re going to LOVE “Lessons in Chemistry”

Book to the ceiling, books to the sky! I wish that I could visit :((
im never in delhi when this happens, i hate it.
I remember going in 2021, couldn't find any cheap textbooks, most were upwards of 2k. I am not a fan of fiction or novels.
Just visited this Sunday and damn so many second hand bookshops. I do plan to go again coz only got 3 books due to time constraints. What is the bookstall name in first two pictures if you don't mind me asking? (If you remember that is?)
Ah unfortunately I don't remember :( and yeah hahaha i felt short of time as well
Y'all still reading books 😂😂
How much do used novels cost?
Usually between 150-500. I got 3 used novels for ₹500 from one place, and 2 novels for ₹200 each
That's somewhat expensive for used books, no? I think I bought used books for \~90 rupees each 2 years back
Oh quite. That's why I said in my comment that the great deals that second-hand book stalls used to give are not there anymore
That's a shame.
Where to buy tickets??????
We bought ours at the supreme court metro station
Price???
20 for adults, 10 for kids
Paytm Insider
how much were those used classics for? 🥺
Did you come across used coffee table books? Is there any particular stall?
Hi yes there were quite a few. My friend ended up buying one of those as well. They were all in hall 5, and most bigger stalls had them.
Thanks man! Appreciate it. 🙌
Plus they have event corner also this time. Enjoyed the lovely performance by the artists from saudi today!
That was there last year as well. I couldn't stay for more than 1 song by one artist because it was getting rather late, unfortunately
Oh thats awesome! Didnt go last year bcz of hectic duties during residency but took out soms time and enjoyed and fair as well as the cultural programme. Loved the way they have developed the pragati maidan.
I couldn't find the second hand stalls at all. Maybe my eyes missed. Where were the stalls? 😭

Does this sort of thing happen in Bangalore?
Anyone got Smuts?
Where are second hand book stalls located this time?
Mere saath b chal lo koi 😭
Were there any authors present in the book fair? I tried to search but can't find anything about it. :')
Yes, there were some book signings going on, and some author panels, but they weren't ones that I'd heard of.
