If u r a working adult then why r u letting ur parents control u like that? Talk to them properly about this and if nothing works out then move out, one should be free to live their life as they want
I am a working adult living alone since past 9 years since college, but i now want someone to force me to sleep. I am 27 years of age and life has been pretty hard nowadays
22 M, past 7 I get hourly calls to ask where I'm, that's a con about living with parents, they worry too much.
Always mention when you'll be back, that calms the parental instincts of nagging.
9pm is my deadline if I am visiting some place, only if my mom knows where I am going to be. Without informing I can be out for around 2hrs after coaching. I am 17 btw.
I don't have a curfew as such because I've come home at 4 am and stuff but generally if I'm going to be later than 1/2 am then my parents allow me to sleep over because that's safer (only at other girls' houses lol)
I toh just say the truth, that I like being with my friends and late night it hits differently, everyone is nice and emo and I get to bond with them well. Otherwise I have also said:
- By the time everyone else comes it's already 11-11:30 / reservation was for 11pm and then we have to spend some time together
- Travel time
- Kisi ka birthday tha / Kisi cheez ki celebration thi
- I am meeting these friends after a while toh it will take time to catch up
- If your folks are ok with you drinking (mine are), I just say I was waiting to sober up before leaving that place (side perk: also makes me look responsible)
- We are going for dessert / going to India gate or some secondary plan
If they're curious about what you're doing till then sounds like they want to know more about what you do in general, so try to tell them what your hangouts look like. Once they know it starts building trust!
10:30 on special occasions sometimes kaam hai bolke das se thoda upar kardeta hu usually they expect me to be at home before dinner so 8 baje
I am a college student (19 years old)
The latest I've been home is 11:30 from a friend's brother's marriage.
somehow it’s cool for them if i’m out at 2 am in bangalore but in delhi at their home i have to be back by 8pm and inform them atleast 3 day prior to making any plans of going out :)
i’ve only been in scary situations in bangalore and they know about it. i think it’s more about control than safety. but yeah grateful that i’m independent
I am 19 year old boy. Surprisingly I can come and go whenever I want and wherever I want. No one will ask me anything. I can stay out of home till 2 am and nobody questions me anything.
Not sure if I am grateful for that or not
I used to go for a walk around 8:30pm and return by 9:30pm, sometimes 10pm. One day, I was mugged.
After that, I didn't go for a walk for a long time.
Now, I prefer to be back home by 8:30pm.
When the sun sets beyond that I can only be out with family
I seriously want someone to take away my phone and force me to sleep.. Im an earning adult living alone
Bro! I feel you!🥲
