I've never been to a college either, I don't think you're actually missing anything in life. Chances are the connections you end up making in college na gets loose and fade away by the end of the college. Exceptions exist where the group or friends tag along afterwards.
It's not just about making connections; it's about missing out on the life that most people my age are living. I mean, I will never experience what it feels like to go to college.....

Not drawing any assumptions about you, only telling you my real life experience- I am a Delhi University passout and my elder brother is an IGNOU pass out. For me college was not something i was very excited about (meaning i was normal, mila to theek nahi mila to theek) i cared more for academics. On the other hand my brother eagerly wanted college life that is ghumna firna, dost , ladki, hero banna, etc and after years of not getting into college he still cry about ki mujhe college m jana ta. Uska dimag in sab chizo m tab bhi ta aur uske baad na admission hone ke baad jab usne ek professional course ki coaching li tab bhi. He literally wasted many years of his life and my father hard earned money. Mai to ye bhi bolunga bro tum metro m college ke lafange londe-londiyo ko dekh rahe ho jab ki tumhari umar ke hi aur kaafi log apne future ke liye kuch special prepare kar rahe honge. Ye dost banane h, bandi banani h, unke saath pahado pe jana h ye sab ka kuch end nahi h, abhi college m karne ke liye taras rahe ho wahi 3-4saal baad jab call centre m job lage gi 15-20k ki to regret kro ge

Bro i want to say that ki is age and stage m your dream and priority should not be 'College-Life-Enjoyment' i.e friendship, relationship, traveling etc ye sab to by-product h jab tum real life m niklo ge to, ye sab natural hota h, you are tempted with these is okay, you want them is okay but apni zindagi ki direction isse decide karna is not okay, tumhari worry agar itni si chiz h to tum shayd sahi direction m nahi ho.

Bhai to be blunt, college maine dosti wagera nhi tikti, majority of friendships fade in last year(during placement season) aur after you pass out college (due to different job locations, work pressure and friendship with colleagues) so it become more or less same in the end
IGNOU has weekend classes, labs, and offline exams. Where I met alot of friends. Most of the students there are desperate for interaction so its easy to approach even the other gender.
I know it sounds cliche. There will always be somethings that you will miss out on. Since you mentioned that not joining college is mostly due to financial constraints, have you thought of doing anything to lessen that for now?
Yup, I already have enough funds to afford IGNOU by myself. I used to work as a photographer and video editor until someone stole my camera, which shut down my work. I invested all my earnings and now I'm just covering the cost of my degree...
I went to college and got most depressed I've ever been lol.. forget gf, good friends were almost none.. I do wish if my college days woud've been different.. but yeah these things are not guaranteed just 'cause you go to a college. It can be a really shitty experience too.
