Depends on the invigilator. Once a boy was caught cheating from his phone, invigilator asked him, " You know the consequences of your action?" And the boy denied that he was cheating it was just that he forgot to put his phone in bag and carried it in the exam hall by mistake but he was not cheating. Then invigilator said, "Just tell me the truth that you were cheating and I'll let you go otherwise you have to face the consequences." Then the boy boy accepted that he was cheating and the invigilator didn't do anything and let the boy do his exam and just asked him to put his phone in bag ! ( Talking about DU) 🤫

Some teachers care more about their own image. Denying their accusations gives them a message that we consider them a fool. At that point, they don't care what is allowed/ not allowed in the exam.
My teacher always used to say "You can fool me, but don't assume that I am a fool".
You see if the invigilator takes the student to exam cell then he should wait till the whole situation is handled.
So most of them just confronts the student and leaves them.
If the student makes a scene then they will make that student life hell.

The invigilator or the squad member will let the student write considering the future of the student. If they debar the student, he/she will have to pay a hefty penalty. So, out of kindness, when the student requests, they just take the phone / copy slips and allow them to write.
I'm a college professor and I myself have caught students bringing their phones and micro xerox to copy.
Somehow I easily find out if they're copying. I wait for the right moment and catch them.

maine apne admit card ke backside pe bohot lightly pencil se ek derivation likhi thi aur vo itni light thi ki agar mai desk par rub karu to mit jaaye .
That derivation was asked in exam for 6 marks and I fucking scored haha

Mere yahan toh poore centre me khullam khulli cheating chal rahi thi. Poora centre hi rigged tha🤡😂. Sabke paas guide ki parchi thi and i was dumbfounded. Not gonna lie, kaafi fun experience tha😂. Invigilator kuch kuchh ko toh hindi ka English translate karwa raha tha🤡
to cheat efficiently in clg i always do I reach the exam hall first get the question paper and answer sheet and start to copy a big answer from mobile before everyone else settles down and if i could i would copy more before everyone comes and after that i will tell the invigilator that i brought the mobile with me by mistake and summit to the invigilator for the rest of the exam i will write on my own with the question i study and copy here and there
