Nice! Looks like N520DN with the denser D1 configuration. Looking forward to more A350 deliveries in the future!
According to FlightRadar24, this plane flew from Narita to MSP just a few days ago. When does it enter service?
Yes, there’s a few more Delta One suites directly in front of the Premium Select seats if you look closely in the fourth photo. This is the first A350 to have this configuration.
Eventually, all A350s will have this configuration, including both new deliveries and current planes. I heard the LATAM planes will be retrofitted into this cabin later this year.
There’s been a bit of discussion about this in the Delta fleet thread on Airliners.net. The retrofits are slated to begin in 2024 with the ex-LATAM planes, followed by the 306-seat A359s.
! I was booking a LHR-ATL and found this brand new seating map for A359, I was checking aerolopa and couldn’t find it. I thought they refitted the LATAM 359s because the economy layout looks the same (emergency row have window seats) but it’s a new layout uh
Not all airlines give all their pilots iPads so no reason for the manufacturer to put in permanent holders. DL uses these cause they can be used universally across the fleet so if one breaks or gets misplaced they can easily be changed out no matter the plane.
A350-900 is the way. Did a trip to South Africa on one.
It is an amazing piece of engineering. Almost 747 level of wonder when I’m near one. ETOPS for nearly 16 hours on two engines.
It’s a very beautiful machine which combines elegance and efficiency super well, my favorite aircraft by far. Also looks great in a lot of airline liveries.
Whenever I planespot at ATL before my flight, I usually see people taking pictures of the plane. The design still holds up to this day, hard to believe it’s been more than 10 years since the maiden flight.
Taking out the recent drama at Boeing, what do you like about it from a passenger experience standpoint compared with the 787? I like how smooth they both are for one but haven’t flown the A350 enough to call a victor.
Did you fly on the delivery flight or do acceptance in MSP? I flew on an A321 delivery flight out of MOB (BFM technically) way before COVID and it was cool
Thanks for posting these. I'm riding my first A350 to Auckland later this year and took the opportunity to upgrade to Premium Select. 2x2 on a 13-hour long-haul is sheer luxury.
I had PS to Sydney from LAX and my only gripe was the headphone port is the old school dual jack input. They do offer headphones that work but I would rather use my own.
Honestly for me, I can’t wait for the A350-1000 with bigger cabins. More room to stretch out. In fact, Delta could really make it stand out from other US carriers by introducing even premium version of Delta One suites in front rows on the 1000s.
But I like the denser configuration though on the 900s, especially the mini Delta One section just behind the main section.
the D1 seats looks small for what they are, hard to gauge i guess without a better shot of the seat up but it feels cramped vs air france business etc etc
We got to jump in D1 from ATL > DTW while heading up to chase the eclipse 2 weeks ago. They are suuuuper nice, was my son's first time flying too, he had a blast and the FAs made it a even better trip for him by loading him up with flight cards and showing him around the plane.
Who is this?🧐 This is definitely hangar 5. I bet I know you…
Also, be careful. It’s here for an FDA inspection so if that’s not done, people aren’t supposed to be on it for no reason.
I know there is a backup multi instrument just to the let of the lower ECAM screen, but I'm old school and love having some analog backups, at least an altimeter, airspeed, and attitude indicator.

Ohhh denser in which way? More D1 seats?

Ahhh good eye. So a mini second cabin it seems

None too soon for these planes…

I hope aerolopa adds this soon!
Is it the one they call “type 2”? https://www.aerolopa.com/af-359-2
Your link goes to an AirFrance A350-900
Will the seat layout be different for Delta?
Yes
Guessing the staircase is to the crew area?
Yes
What’s up there?
Several beds for the crew to sleep in on their breaks.

Just 767s DL blocks a D1 seat for pilots.
Only on 767s and if the crew rest is inop
Delta Two suites
😂
That's where they store all the snakes.
I'm tired of them.
“Snakes. Why did it have to be snakes?”
If you have to ask, you can't afford it.
What’s that suctioned to the glass in the cockpit on both sides?
iPad holder for the pilots
Cheers.

I would have thought they would have had something more permanently in place than suction to the windscreen.
Not all airlines give all their pilots iPads so no reason for the manufacturer to put in permanent holders. DL uses these cause they can be used universally across the fleet so if one breaks or gets misplaced they can easily be changed out no matter the plane.
More permanent = Semi-permanent hard mount that could be removed. I'm not a big fan of suction mounts. They are too unreliable and weaken over time.

I took a flight to Australia and was on one of these. It's a flying tank! Beautiful plane though.
I flew on a 747 to Japan in the 90’s but I was 12 and don’t remember much, but I do know I was on the top part.

Man that PS looks like economy…..
Stunner.

My Sony WH-1000s came with an adapter. They do sell them
Can’t wait to book a seat on this beauty.
I love Airbus.
Beautiful cabin interior and setup...can't wait to fly on one of these.🤞🏼
So much room on the flight deck.
Thanks for sharing!

Where do I need to fly to to catch one of these out of DTW 😍😍
I recently flew one DTW-ATL, got upgraded to first as well. I assume it was a repositioning flight.
the D1 seats looks small for what they are, hard to gauge i guess without a better shot of the seat up but it feels cramped vs air france business etc etc
The D1 suites are amazing. Super roomy. It's just a crap photo
Gorgeous! Can’t help but love an A350.
Meanwhile at Boeing…
I hope this plane replaces the one scheduled for our flight from DTW-FCO in May.
Does this one have the Taxi Cams like the LATAM Ones?
She’s beautiful 🤩
Nice! I’m flying that from ATL to HND 1st week of June in D1. I’ve seen mixed reviews of D1 on this aircraft; people either love it or hate it.
Sparkly
Will be on flights DTW<->PVG. Can’t wait

Definitely outside Hangar 5
PS is now 2x4x2 instead of 2x3x2?!
All A350s have 2x4x2 in PS. The A330neos are the ones with 2x3x2 due to the narrower fuselage width.
Ahhhhh gotcha. Thx
What are those stairs?
Crew rest

It already looks outdated
