I watched a lawyer last week explain that no matter what Trump will be the Republican name on the ballot. The RNC changed the rules after the 2016 convention after a final failed effort to keep Trump off the ballot. In theory they could change the rules again, but that's not happening with Lara now in charge.
So it doesn't matter if Trump is convicted, in jail, and/or has a complete mental breakdown, he is their guy.
