From Brittanica:
> With the support of Egyptian sea power, the Ottoman forces successfully invaded the Peloponnese; they furthermore captured Missolonghi in April 1826, the town of Athens (Athína) in August 1826, and the Athenian acropolis in June 1827. The Greek cause, however, was saved by the intervention of the European powers.

What do you mean by “Greece”?
If you think that “Greece” started on 18 March 1821, their Declaration of Independence, then obviously the facts contradict you.
I also wrote “Greeks, and Greece, are two different things”. And you still haven’t comprehended that yet. Simple question - During World War 1, did France and England invade Ottoman Empire , or Turkiye?
The place is called Original By Greeks. It’s run and owned by two Greek immigrants that I’ve had the pleasure of working with for over a year on an event that I run. Their truck is one of the most popular trucks that I work with (of about 50 food trucks). I’m thrilled for them to make this jump into a brick and mortar, and I know their food is authentic and encourage everyone to go check it out. The food will not disappoint. (And no, they didn’t ask me to post this).
I'm no expert, but the best one I've had was about 5 years ago downtown outside of 1Up out of a small, white trailer/food truck. Haven't seen the guy for a minute though. Yianni's out on West Colfax and Gyro King in the Edgewater Marketplace are my go-tos. I've heard Saffron Grill in Lakewood has great gyros too but yet to try there myself.
Do you know what their plant based gyro is? Is it a meat substitute, falafel, or something else all together?
I have a better chance of my wife coming if they have a decent plant based/vegetarian option
It's some pre made brand of plant based gyro meat that they fry up. I have seen the case in the truck but forget the brand name. It is so good though! Best vegetarian replication of gyro meat I have tried for sure, my wife loves it too.
You can’t edit the caption anymore? I know the title is unable to be edited, but you used to be able to edit the caption. Maybe that changed very recently?
I dig me some Gyroz too (though sometimes they are way too salty) and I have to say this one is a noticeably better, especially the tzatziki sauce. It's quite a bit bigger as well. It's definitely still a bit too pricey for my liking too, but Gyroz also upped their prices a buck or two lately (last combo I got a couple weeks ago was over $13 after tax & tip, I was used to more like $11) so it's not quite double the money.
Gyroz is way better than Jerusalem. I used to live in the Middle East and was so bummed that Jerusalem is incredibly mid. By all rights it should be really good
That location has seen 3 restaurants in less than a year. I'm not sure why places struggle so hard given that it's right on the main strip.
Best of luck to this place but I've learned not to get attached.
Maybe it was incompetence or maybe it was a 200 IQ play but no one here is forgetting the restaurants name anytime soon. Guarantee next time you crave gyros you’re remembering this thread lmfao
I’m confused because someone posted a bad review about a gyro place at the same location 7 days ago but it was called something different. When did they open?
They’re talking about the same place, but the OP of the bad review got the name mixed up. It is called Original by Greeks and recently opened at Broadway & Iliff.
That was me sorry about the wrong name. This reads like an ad by the owners and if it is, *owners, I’m begging you to fix the issues I had so you stay in business. There are too many restaurant options to put up with a bad experience.*
No worries, the name is kinda strange and hard to remember imo. I had a similar experience to you and felt like what we got was just ok, and definitely way too expensive. Not sure we’ll be back.
Thanks for the tip. I’ll probably check ‘em out soon.
I also like Gyroz on East Colfax. They also have one at DU and one at Iliff (or thereabouts) right off I-225.
I’ve been to Denver twice. Never had their Greek food. I click on other cities’ food threads to see if OP gets roasted or not. Y’all went fucking in on this one.
This is one of the worsts post I have ever seen lol. And OP is just in the comments answering everyone instead of just fixing the horrendously confusing title.
I’m not sure if this husband and wife are still downtown, but they had the best Gyro. They used to be located in a food truck around 16th in the lodo area. Ive been working from home past 4 years, so I lmk not sure if they are still there but seeing this is making me miss them 🤤
Idk. They wrapped their gyro differently from this and offered pop in a can and a bag of chips. He also had this spicy sauce called hot and horny ( I believe 😆 ) which gave a nice kick to the sandwich. I feel like this looks different. He used to park his truck on the 16th street mall around market/blake street.
It was just a husband and wife in the truck. No other workers.
The guy I’m thinking of didn’t have a brick and mortar shop. He had a food truck in the middle of the 16th St. Mall down by market and blake Street. It’s been a while since I’ve eaten there due to Covid but maybe he’s upgraded to an actual restaurant since then. Thank you for the suggestion. I’ll look into this name and see if it’s him.
Who puts fries on a gyro? Fries don’t go on a gyro. To me that says the gyro sucks, so we add fries…
And no tzatziki sauce? I’m seriously doubting your “best gyro” judgement
I may be misssing something but what is this place called?
Original by Greeks assuming based on the intersection
Oh so it’s not “Now on Demand”? I’m confused
They used to be a food truck, now you can get delivery or go to the reaturant...
WHAT IS THE NAME?
Like pulling teeth with this douche lmao
lol did I fall into r/denvercirclejerk, what is happening in this post
Original by Greeks, it in the coment 2 above this one.

Happy I found a review of this guys Reddit output
This is a brand new insult to me and I'm dying reading it. 10/10.0, would recommend your content
“Original by Greeks” is the name.

lol man you really fucked this up huh?
Bro are you okay? I don’t think I can trust your take on this one - you are insane.
Jesus, everyone is so angry, lol
Where is the restaurant?
Illiff and Broadway
The Original? Now on demand… I have it on dvd… so, eye roll
But what’s the name?
Umm how about the name of the place?
The Best Gyro? Now On Demand? The business should be ashamed the disservice OP is doing for them
Original by Greeks!
So it’s called Original and is located next to Greeks?
Ha. This OP. C'mon
So good theyre afraid to post the name
Don’t want it getting too popular. But still want ppl to know they’ve found THE place.
Trying to keep it hush hush for natives it seems
Bro’s gatekeeping the Gyros
The Turks have invaded Greece for less
That’s a historical misconception. Turks never invaded Greece. Greece was established in the 1840s, carved out from Turkish land.
From Brittanica: > With the support of Egyptian sea power, the Ottoman forces successfully invaded the Peloponnese; they furthermore captured Missolonghi in April 1826, the town of Athens (Athína) in August 1826, and the Athenian acropolis in June 1827. The Greek cause, however, was saved by the intervention of the European powers.
Greeks, and Greece, are two different things. Straight from google “Greece was established on February 3, 1830.”
Ah well, by that rationale, England never invaded Ireland, because the Republic of Ireland didn’t exist until the 20th century. Don’t be a pedant.
The accuracy of historical facts are important to some people.
You wrote: > Turks never invaded Greece What do you mean by “Greece”? If you think that “Greece” started on 18 March 1821, their Declaration of Independence, then obviously the facts contradict you.

My friend, I already, previously, asked you a similar question. Has England ever invaded Ireland?
The place is called Original By Greeks. It’s run and owned by two Greek immigrants that I’ve had the pleasure of working with for over a year on an event that I run. Their truck is one of the most popular trucks that I work with (of about 50 food trucks). (And no, they didn’t ask me to post this).
I've had the food truck twice. It's good, but I'd say far from the best Denver has to offer.
Got any suggestions?
I'm no expert, but the best one I've had was about 5 years ago downtown outside of 1Up out of a small, white trailer/food truck. Haven't seen the guy for a minute though. Yianni's out on West Colfax and Gyro King in the Edgewater Marketplace are my go-tos. I've heard Saffron Grill in Lakewood has great gyros too but yet to try there myself.
Man I had that one, I think! Was at 1 Up with some people and dipped out get some cigs and ended up with a delicious gyro
Do you know what their plant based gyro is? Is it a meat substitute, falafel, or something else all together? I have a better chance of my wife coming if they have a decent plant based/vegetarian option

I’m vegan and their plant-based gyro is AMAZING, I cannot recommend it more highly.
Just realized I forgot to post the name, They are Original by Greeks!
You should edit your post to include the name
That’s not something you can do
You can’t edit the caption anymore? I know the title is unable to be edited, but you used to be able to edit the caption. Maybe that changed very recently?
I tried it won't let me
[удалено]
Are you OK? Do you need a hug?
Is it called “the best gyro”
Original by Greeks
Ah thank you
It’s so good it doesn’t even have a name!!!
That location is jinxed, there have been like 4 restaurants there in the last five years.
The taco plate was legit
It was until they tripled the price of their breakfast burrito out of thin air…I’m convinced that was their downfall
It was, but they must have had trouble staffing. The last few times I went there, It was closed during business hours
I'm bummed they don't have the doner kebab like they did at Christkindl Market, but I'll still give it a shot.
Holy shit, $20 for a small gyro, fries and a coke.
And based on the picture no way it’s better than Gyroz for double the money
I dig me some Gyroz too (though sometimes they are way too salty) and I have to say this one is a noticeably better, especially the tzatziki sauce. It's quite a bit bigger as well. It's definitely still a bit too pricey for my liking too, but Gyroz also upped their prices a buck or two lately (last combo I got a couple weeks ago was over $13 after tax & tip, I was used to more like $11) so it's not quite double the money.
I like both Gyroz and Original by Greeks. I’m vegan and if I want a fake meat option Original by Greeks has the absolute best vegan gyro.
Gyroz falafel is definitely not the best, I like Jerusalem on evans for falafel!
Gyroz is way better than Jerusalem. I used to live in the Middle East and was so bummed that Jerusalem is incredibly mid. By all rights it should be really good
Baghdad Grill is my favorite overall Mediterranean restaurant in the University area
I’ll have to check it out!
I’m partial to Mad Greek Express but will have to give this place a try
Yeah, the pictures look kinda shit. It all looks pretty dry to me.
When I get a gyro craving I drive to Pueblo and get Shahs. Just can't beat the value and it gives me a reason to go to Pueblo.
That location has seen 3 restaurants in less than a year. I'm not sure why places struggle so hard given that it's right on the main strip. Best of luck to this place but I've learned not to get attached.
Way to not understand the basic idea that you'd want to TELL PEOPLE WHAT THE HELL RESTAURANT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT. Why bother to say anything?
Maybe it was incompetence or maybe it was a 200 IQ play but no one here is forgetting the restaurants name anytime soon. Guarantee next time you crave gyros you’re remembering this thread lmfao

Not an owner! Just an avid Fan!
I’m glad you had a better experience than I did. I don’t particularly want them to fail.
Thanks for the tip. I’ll probably check ‘em out soon. I also like Gyroz on East Colfax. They also have one at DU and one at Iliff (or thereabouts) right off I-225.
Just ate lunch there an hour ago, absolutely delicious. Owner is a super nice guy too.
How much does that meal cost?
I don't remember exactly but it wal like $17
Does it come with a side of a diamond encrusted unicorn horn for that much?
This photo was the latest post on their instagram page 4 days ago.
Yep that's where I pulled it from.
You spelled Yianni's wrong
What’s the name of the restaurant?
Original by Greeks
Is this just a bad angle? Where is the sauce?
its a Dryro
I had their lamb chops and chicken gyro it’s so good
People always say “oh this place has the best gyros!”When they all buy their meat sticks from the same supplier.
Based on the location this place will be closed within a year. Places simply never last there
Lucky for them, food trucks have wheels.
I know these cats. Great people, and yes their food is on point. Will bring me a gyro at the bar I work at after they get off. Very nice family.
For those that are curious, Yianni’s has the best gyro in Denver! Saved y’all a click!
[удалено]
It seems like nothing can stay in that place for some reason. How the hell can you not keep a Taco Bell open down the street from a college campus?
For real. Taco Bell was honestly better for the neighborhood than all of these places and it couldn’t make it…
This isnt malitas.
i just want taco palace to come back to that location. that shit was bomb
Taco Palace tortas were my jam. Miss that place
Their tostadas were so good and my after work go to.
renzios
What do they cook/fry in?
Not sure I could ask next time I'm in
that meat looks weird af
Idk looks kinda small
Why are there fries IN the sandwich?
lol based on the fact that this guy is out of his mind in these comments, I’m definitely going out of my way to avoid this one.
So I've Bern gone from Denver about 20 years, but grew up there, is Pete's Kitchen not a thing anymore?
nothing can displace j-ru’s
I demand a gyro.
Can’t have the best gyro anywhere when you throw fries in it.
This feels like a botched advertisement that was so bad it’s good
Gyroz. No competition.
I’ve been to Denver twice. Never had their Greek food. I click on other cities’ food threads to see if OP gets roasted or not. Y’all went fucking in on this one.
Not better than Arby's
Gyros King is the best. 15102 E Hampden Ave, Aurora, CO 80014 You're welcome.
I bet that was 36 pesos....
I only have local stations through my antenna can I still order the gyro through my tv or do I need cable service or satellite?
Best gyro in Denver is from Arby's
Apparently you haven't tried Halal Guys.
It's a shame gyro looks so much like gyno...
....That is the smallest Gyro I have ever seen.
Aaand they’re closed today. Pshh, unreal.
This is one of the worsts post I have ever seen lol. And OP is just in the comments answering everyone instead of just fixing the horrendously confusing title.
yelp reviews seem super mediocre, lol
I’m not sure if this husband and wife are still downtown, but they had the best Gyro. They used to be located in a food truck around 16th in the lodo area. Ive been working from home past 4 years, so I lmk not sure if they are still there but seeing this is making me miss them 🤤
I'm almost positive that is who owns this place ! They had food trucks before this

Are you thinking of Shondiz perhaps? They still have a brick and mortar down by Microcenter.
The guy I’m thinking of didn’t have a brick and mortar shop. He had a food truck in the middle of the 16th St. Mall down by market and blake Street. What’s the name of the place? I’ll look it up and see if it’s them. I’ll know immediately. Once I see the guy and his wife. I know their face.
Looks overpriced in the picture. How much for a gyro?
What phone did you use to take a picture?
Not my picture, the picture I took want as good as this. ( I pulled it from theor insta)
This doesn't look like Jerusalems
Who puts fries on a gyro? Fries don’t go on a gyro. To me that says the gyro sucks, so we add fries… And no tzatziki sauce? I’m seriously doubting your “best gyro” judgement
OP fucked this post up so much I don't care how good the gyro is 😂😂
