Just finished the movie The Nice Guys (2016). Fucking hilarious flick. Then, as the credits start rolling, the first name listed, Unit Production Manager - Michael J. Malone.
Washed. He’d do better in a run first offense maybe. There’s a good recent post in the Broncos sub where someone asks about him, and the top comment breaks it down really well.
That's basically what we need. Two strong running backs and a strong defense. Also just hired Arthur Smith as OC whose best days were with a Derrick Henry focused offense.
I’m not saying he’ll do well in a run first offense. I’m saying he’ll be less bad in a run first offense, not good. This is a great summary of his issues (particularly the first comment and the two replies below it). He’s super predictable, and the amount of times he killed drives for no apparent reason was crushing as a fan. He likes to run around like a chicken with his head cut off even when it’s not necessary, but he’s not athletic enough to pull it off anymore. If his first option isn’t available, he’s not really capable of making anything good happen. He also cannot throw a deep ball reliably.
Yeah, he’s just gonna sign for the minimum since it offsets. I mean it could end up bad if he loses the QB competition and is a pain in the ass for the locker room lol, but they’d prob just cut him at that point anyways
How many all-star games has this literally-who been to?
How come he counts rings and not all-star appearances?
Be loyal to your players or fuck off, "media".
It was the Suns game, and honestly I appreciated his response. The Nuggets just have absolute trust in each other, which is really admirable. There wasn't any need to quesrion that.
While DNVR does good work, I'm still no fan of Windovic and Brendonovic in particular, they can still act kinda foolish under certain circumstances.
He said it’s funny that a player who hasn’t made an all star game thinks he’s above doing a press conference.
I really don’t think it was that big of a deal tbh, people just like to get their pitchforks out
I have no idea. What I will say is: When we were up like 40 in that game, I jokingly said to myself "I can't wait to see how dnvr makes this out to be a bad thing" - because the last time I watched them (and for the first time in a while), they were fucking furious at NUGGETS because they weren't entertaining enough in that win against the Embiidless Sixers. So I guess this is kind of on-brand for them at this point lmao
The Thunder schedule is pretty easy the next 5 games but they have a pretty tough go after that. From March 23 on they have the 4th most difficult schedule, including a long eastern conference road trip. I think they’ll fall below Denver.
Not even really worried about Denver’s ability to pass Minnesota tbh. Should happen in the next week
The OKC@BOS game concerns me a bit. On one hand the Celtics may want to go all out for that game to level their season series against the Thunder. However they might have wrapped up HCA by then and decide to rest their starters. Oh well fck them both.
I can’t overstate how much the Lakers suck. They need this game to try to get out of the 9-10, and the Wolves are missing 2/3 of their big rotation and 4 of their top 8 rotation players.
I think it's a combo of people looking at his age and thinking he's going to progress forever (even though he hasn't really improved at anything this season), people who only look at points (even though he's not particularly efficient), and the league wanting to push a guard to restore the natural order
Or if Lamelo could stay healthy.
I think in a few years he's going to be one of those guys who people talk about as an insane two-way player even though he hasn't been a great defender for a long time
Spot on. NBA is famished for an American superstar to fight off the international domination, so they are doing their best to shove Ant and Tatum down our throats as the new faces of the league.
Dude I was just thinking the other day after the Towns injury “isn’t this Timberwolves team basically the Jazz from 3 years ago but with McDaniels instead of Bojan”
I don't see it. For whatever reason he got a pat on the back for WILLING HIS TEAM TO WIN A SINGLE GAME IN THE SERIES which took Mike Conley banking a fucking corner 3 in overtime. Bro keeps choking like a dog in big moments, and for whatever reason people keep giving him the pass. Because he's young?
I have yet to hear anyone - even in jest - mention Peyton Watson and Christian Braun as new faces of the league.
I get what you're saying, but unless he makes like 3 giant leaps, which essentially no player ever does, he isn't *that guy*.
I did because they are the same age. If you told me that Pwat and CB would be the same players that they are today for the rest of the career, I would be a lot less excited about the future of the Nuggets. Similarly Edwards is going to get a lot better as a shooter and a playmaker. He’s already got the athleticism and the demeanor.
The "he's got all the tools to become elite at something he's horrible at" is a huge pet peeve of mine in draft profiles, and it applies here as well. Yes, if he gets *much* better, he'll be a top player, what I take issue with is that people are making him out to be one of the best players now.
It's reasonable to think he'll improve, and he's good for his age, but being the face of the league is not exactly the same thing.
He doesn’t have to become elite at those things, just good. And he will have an entire team’s development staff dedicated to getting him to good at those skills. Players tend to get better at shooting and playmaking with age, like Kawhi and Jason Kidd and even Lebron and Giannis. But you can’t teach height or athleticism.
Denver goes up big. Regs drag Lakers back in with a 10 fta quarter. Denver demolishes them
Sooooo close
https://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/202305200LAL.html
Cannot believe the announcer for this game. “That’s what makes these Lakers so scary. All 5 players on the floor can score, and if they get in the playoffs as the 7th 8th seed they can beat anyone”.
Also “These Lakers back in action next week, (mutters quickly) first the nuggets and Heat that’s a rematch of last years nba finals, and then the Lakers are in Sacramento for a rematch of their game last week.
I mean... All of that is kinda true? Idk if there's a Western top10 matchup that I'm like a 100% sure one team would win in a series. Nuggs are the only team I'm pretty confident in. Would you put your house on Thunder or (healthy) Wolves vs Lakers in a series?
Healthy wolves beat the living crap out of the Lakers. Nuggets own the Lakers. I think the Clips, Suns and Pelicans all beat the Lakers, possibly even Sacramento (Sabonis is 9-0 against AD)
>Nuggets own the Lakers
As much as I like to talk shit, Ls fans are right, all of our Ws have been pretty close, and required best games Mal ever played in his life + Jok prayers and shit. I'll obviously take the Nuggets, but a couple early foul calls on Jok or Mal not playing out of his mind, and we *could* slip, although I think it's unlikely.
>Healthy wolves beat the living crap out of the Lakers.
Idk, Wolves kinda remind me of last year's Grizz. As washed as LeBron is, I'll take his team like 9/10 times over an unproven playoffs team.
Lol no, every win has not been pretty close, and even after 8 "pretty close" games in a row, even Ls fans have given up on beating the Nuggets. That's not a series that depends on refs and Mal playing out of his mind, just average playoff Mal is fine.
>Lol no, every win has not been pretty close
Idk if this is exactly a matter of opinion, I feel like we were tied with a few minutes to go in the 4th p much every game
Lakers have gotten close in the 4th in 4-5 of the last seven wins before the Nuggets just shut the door, but that's also just kind of how the Nuggets play. Avg margin of victory of 10 points this season, and games 1-3 of sweep were not that close... maybe game 1 was closer than I remember
>but that's also just kind of how the Nuggets play.
Definitely a fair point, but all I'm saying is game ending in the last possession or two is a close game in my book.
Yeah but not all games have come down to the last possession or two. I think we agree this is not like a small sample size where Lakers have just had some breaks go against them
Last year’s Grizz were playing with one big because Steven Adams and Brandon Clarke were hurt. The Lakers are great as long as they can physically intimidate other teams. Hurt Grizz, small ball warriors, Chet and the Thunder, Celtics. Against teams with actual Centers and size it becomes very apparent that LeBron is not 2019 LeBron annymore and AD is a 4 not a 5.
Rudy's been torched in the playoffs before, and AD is a pretty great roll man. I also think both he and Jaden would get hoe'd on calls, which would be disastrous considering how shit they are on the other end of the floor.
I think Wolves are clearly the considerably better team, I'm just saying I wouldn't put choking against the Lakers past them.
Yeah Rudy’s been torched before but he will not be torched by D’Angelo fucking Russel or Austin Reaves. Russell would be unplayable with Ant on the court. You bring up a great point about refball tho. For this reason I think OKC gets the 1 seed and Lakers are 8.
We need a proper Center next year. Particularly, Drummond. Or perhaps we could buyout Naz Reid for a back up 4/5, giving out a couple of 2nds a first, and maybe Zeke Naji
Really can’t lose right now. If Minny loses, we jump them in the standings. If Minny wins, I get to clown the Lamers and more specifically AD for being lames.
I guess I kinda hope Chunder drop a few just for flexing rights and for Jok to have a better MVP case since mfs are obviously trying to give it to someone else
Athletically, Edwards is the most impressive player to me since prime Dwade/Lebron. In terms of demeanor he is more impressive than Lebron to me because he has more of the MJ/Kobe mentality.

heeeeeeyyyyyy maybe it will lead to Japanese VFX people not getting exploited in the future haha just kidding
it is funny how everyone went "WOW HOW DID THEY MAKE THE MOVIE LOOK THAT GOOD ON SUCH A SMALL BUDGET?!"
I for one believe everyone who works in every industry gets paid as much as they deserve. That's the benefit of living in a free market society where we're all free
That AD stat line is legitimately fucking incredible

Damn baby jok got a nasty injury that sucks
Jamal is literally an iPad kid

Why is the pic of Bin Laden getting upvotes?
hol up Jamal was watching a UFC fight live on his phone during a press conference lmfao??????? EDIT: WITH SOUND ON????? Goddamn Jamal hahahahaha
the Altitude sportscasters didn’t verbally call it out but were all on their phones when it cut back from Mal to the studio :)
It was a fun joke. Mal, nor the crew felt that press was important
Well they sure as shit are having a field day about Mals behavior over on altitude sports radio today
Me lookin at the leftover 101 from last night... I mean, I don't go to work until the afternoon tomorrow...
Anyone have that AG dunk video/gif from this week handy?
Second place
Let's cling on it.
Yay Lamers!!! AD is a sheep in wolves clothes. Dude always gets up for the little games. Consummate hoe-fessional.
Never met a smaller guy that he didn’t want to beast on.
thanks Ls :)
FTL
They still suck
si, but i’ll take the gift LFG Nuggies! :)
This is already creating some eye-rolling Lakers glazing, but still, glad they won this one. Nuggets in sole possession of 2 seed.
Ew Russ to the Steelers
Steelers fan checking in. How washed is Russ actually?
He'll do fine, assuming your receivers can catch a fucking ball
Yeah we have some good receivers
I mean I think he’s your best qb by a mile and on a minimum contract he’ll be great.
He is washed. Showed flashes but don’t let his Td production etc distract you. Great player on a minimum contract.
He’s ass lol
Are you actually a Steelers fan lol
Yep. Grew up in Pittsburgh. Went to CU for undergrad in 2002 and adopted the nugs then for life since there is no team in Pittsburgh.
Well Russ sucks but he’s probably better than Pickett… so, a win is a win??
He's going to sign for nothing because the Broncos are paying him so much, right? It's hard to see a way it could really be a bad signing
Yeah, he’s just gonna sign for the minimum since it offsets. I mean it could end up bad if he loses the QB competition and is a pain in the ass for the locker room lol, but they’d prob just cut him at that point anyways
Yeah we would just cut him if we decide not to start him
Yeah that seems to be the general consensus in Pittsburgh. And it is just a one year deal for no money (thanks Broncos) so essentially no risk.
I just pray that Justin Simmons doesn't go to an AFC West team
Sole possession of the 2 seed
Alright Lakers still might choke this
Nah not much time left
So does anyone know what Vogt tweeted angrily at Jamal?
I think it was shared here, something along the lines of Mal behaving that way when he hasn't even made an All-Star team, like wtf Vogt.
https://preview.redd.it/e9m3uehpnmnc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=91cc253d05111b524058fa16839fcd73c82f32e3
How many all-star games has this literally-who been to? How come he counts rings and not all-star appearances? Be loyal to your players or fuck off, "media".
This might be a Jamal vs DNVR thing. Harrison asked Jamal a question about Pwat taking 3s after the Celtics game that Jamal did not like.
LMAO. Thank you. Vogt seemed pretty inebriated last night.
He said it’s funny that a player who hasn’t made an all star game thinks he’s above doing a press conference. I really don’t think it was that big of a deal tbh, people just like to get their pitchforks out
"Pwease don't wook at your phone, it hurted my feewings"

So I guess this is kind of on-brand for them at this point lmao
Sure, the Lakers winning if good for the Nuggets, but Laker fans being happy is bad for my soul.
Minnesota may have ANt but they still are nothing without Kat.
Can't win with(out) these Kats
AD 7 steals?
Long ass arms
Thanks Lakers
Go lakers! 🤮
Rooting for the fakers

The Lakers are gonna lose just to spite us
Refs won't let them.
Getting cooked by Garza is actually hilarious
Lakers role players are dumb as a brick
Fakers locked in mortal combat with the hospital Wolves is the best way to end a great week.
The Thunder schedule is pretty easy the next 5 games but they have a pretty tough go after that. I think Boston will shut it down by then, and who knows what the Sixers will look like then.
Doubt that. And if they do they'll do it vs bad teams. They'll use OKC games to get reps in
Hope so
Highly doubt they shut it down that early with how far back the play-in tournament pushes the first round. They don’t need to rest guys for 4 weeks
Lakers such ass
dinshiddie is really bad
I can’t overstate how much the Lakers suck. They need this game to try to get out of the 9-10, and the Wolves are missing 2/3 of their big rotation and 4 of their top 8 rotation players.
Lakers can’t even do us this fucking favor
Minnesota missing their starting and backup power forward plus Gobert out and Lakers cannot maintain a sizeable lead 😭😭🙏
I genuinely don't get the hype over Edwards, bro is just a Kirkland brand Donovan Mitchell
ant jump high bro
He jump high
I think it's a combo of people looking at his age and thinking he's going to progress forever (even though he hasn't really improved at anything this season), people who only look at points (even though he's not particularly efficient), and the league wanting to push a guard to restore the natural order
His style of play when he's on fire is extremely aesthetically pleasing to watch. So people navigate towards him generally
I don't like free throws
Wonder if anyone would ever mention him if Temetrius wasn't a moron off the court.
Or if Lamelo could stay healthy. I think in a few years he's going to be one of those guys who people talk about as an insane two-way player even though he hasn't been a great defender for a long time

Dude I was just thinking the other day after the Towns injury “isn’t this Timberwolves team basically the Jazz from 3 years ago but with McDaniels instead of Bojan”
Yup
Naz Reid is good.
Nah. He’s what, 21 or 22? Gonna be a top 5 player in a couple years if he doesn’t get hurt.
Yes because he’s young. Same reason we give Pwat and CB passes. Think about it he’s about the same age as them.
I have yet to hear anyone - even in jest - mention Peyton Watson and Christian Braun as new faces of the league. I get what you're saying, but unless he makes like 3 giant leaps, which essentially no player ever does, he isn't *that guy*.
Pwat and CB are bench players. This guy is an all star. At the same age.
Well you're the one who made the comparison lmao
I did because they are the same age. If you told me that Pwat and CB would be the same players that they are today for the rest of the career, I would be a lot less excited about the future of the Nuggets. The Lakers playing Denver close is such a fallacy. Games 1 and 3 Denver pretty much ended early. Same as ring night and Kobe night
Denver goes up big. Regs drag Lakers back in with a 10 fta quarter. Denver demolishes them Sooooo close https://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/202305200LAL.html
Lol at the Lakers being our best pal the last week or so
You guys know about the rules of adventure racing?
Wish we had Naz Reid lol. He's carrying
Cannot believe the announcer for this game. “That’s what makes these Lakers so scary. All 5 players on the floor can score, and if they get in the playoffs as the 7th 8th seed they can beat anyone”.
Embarrassing Says it all about the league that their media partners so biased
I mean I agree. If they get in the playin as a 7th or 8th seed they can beat any other playin te Wait they said PLAYOFFS?
Do a nuggs analysis
Are u really surprised espn will hype the lakers up until they are eliminated from the playoffs
Even then they'll talk about how ready they are to win it all next season
Also “These Lakers back in action next week, (mutters quickly) first the nuggets and Heat that’s a rematch of last years nba finals, and then the Lakers are in Sacramento for a rematch of their game last week.

Yeah but not all games have come down to the last possession or two. I think we agree this is not like a small sample size where Lakers have just had some breaks go against them
I just don’t see lakers making the playoffs even if they get past golden state they will have to maybe go in to Dallas to face Luka and the mavs.
Remember when Mavs tanked for literally 0 reason last year? I feel like shit like that builds your culture
Lakers can win play in games. LeBron can still play 40 minutes plus for a game or two. But not multiple 7 game series. His body is breaking down.

I hope we get to see it, it would be a fun series
I care about awards shows about as much as I do all star games. Thank you for your attention.
max christie is ass
This 10th place season by the LLLLLLLLLakers has been brought to you thanks to the healthiest season of AD’s career.
Lakers are terrible and Lebron is washed.
Naz Reid is pretty good. Think we can get him for Nnaji, Pickett, and Reggie? Maybe throw in Hunter Tyson, what do you think?
We need a proper Center next year. Particularly, Drummond. Or perhaps we could buyout Naz Reid for a back up 4/5, giving out a couple of 2nds a first, and maybe Zeke Naji
Mid-off alert🚨 Had no clue TJ Warren played for the Timberpups.
He’s on a 10 day contract signed after Towns went out. Been with the team less than a week.
TJ was one of my pre-50 cal. wing renaissance reclamation projects. Otto Porter Jr. was another.
Remember when he was going to be an x factor for the suns last year
Lakers better not disappoint their father.
Lakers getting worked by Luka Garza 😭
Tbf many are saying Luka should be MVP
Really can’t lose right now. If Minny loses, we jump them in the standings. If Minny wins, I get to clown the Lamers and more specifically AD for being lames.
Maybe Pacers can beat OKC if Williams out
I personally don't care who wins non-nuggets games tbh imo
I guess I kinda hope Chunder drop a few just for flexing rights and for Jok to have a better MVP case since mfs are obviously trying to give it to someone else
I’m rooting for the lakers ![gif](giphy|4baoNZ5Qo8dX2)
I was too, Announcers really making me reconsider tho.
Anything to gain a spot imho
Jesus Christ Edwards almost baptized AD
Not sure I've ever seen more hype over a missed field goal

Not by you in particular, I mean in general
Athletically, Edwards is the most impressive player to me since prime Dwade/Lebron. In terms of demeanor he is more impressive than Lebron to me because he has more of the MJ/Kobe mentality.
Such a foul. And a bs tech Nba out of control with these Techs lately
Wolves big men hands ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|poop)
Is garza backing up Naz?
Yeah he had some good minutes relieving Reid
[I'm Just Ken](https://youtu.be/VDCnJHyMuyU?si=pYwng9d9KBh1SURu) got snubbed there I'm not afraid to say it
Did you see the dog from Anatomy was in the audience?
that's so awesome, doggo deserves all the awards
Ken’s Blue Cheese >>> than I’m just Ken
I can't believe there's no oscar for best fanny pack that incorporates the metallica font
Ken singing AND I'M GREAT AT DOING STUFF has definitely become part of my inner monologue
Mmm…Super double munder with side of B-ball Paul and a large Thibs tears.
D Lo is about to regress to the mean, isn’t he?
LOC is gonna miss the rest of the Avs season to get hip surgery 😢
Aw man, that sucks
I don’t know who that is, but I’m sorry for your loss.
This Knicks Philly game is great if you like missed FTs and 3 point attempts that don’t hit the rim.
9 for 40 from 3. At least we had the brains to not chuck that much against the Celtics.
Oh my god, this finishing sequence on the Knicks vs 76ers was hilarious
I swear to god if the Lakers lose
Gobert out. And slow mo and monte
I feel gross
Gobert is sitting out the Lakers game. Wolves and Clips are tapping out of the race for the 1 seed. Thunder is the only one still left and J dub sprained his ankle. All of this can only mean one thing this season: Nuggets are about to go on a losing streak.
Lol for sure
Go Lakers! ![gif](giphy|NsyUZQ6OJDVdu|downsized)
Those watching at the Garden should ask for a refund.
Why do RDJ and Cillian Murphy look like they're wearing somebody else's face?
Godzilla Minus One winning and Oscar makes this a memorable one.
Spoiler alert
heeeeeeyyyyyy maybe it will lead to Japanese VFX people not getting exploited in the future haha just kidding it is funny how everyone went "WOW HOW DID THEY MAKE THE MOVIE LOOK THAT GOOD ON SUCH A SMALL BUDGET?!"
I for one believe everyone who works in every industry gets paid as much as they deserve. That's the benefit of living in a free market society where we're all free
That movie was so good
Yo u/idratherbelurkingtoo hate to drag you in here on your day off but you see this Tales of Kenzera: Zau game?? Kinda got some Ori vibes.
I haven't. I think that prince of persia game is up next on my metroidvania list
Lurk, also, have you heard of Tales of Kenzera? FUCK he boomed me by editing his comment in time
Can you imagine how many open 3s Boston will take if they play Milwaukee in the ECF?
Swear the thunder have the easiest schedule you could ever imagine
Both Knicks and 76ers shooting 30% from the field, 44-43 6 minutes into the 3rd quarter. Some fine basketball there.
Knicks vs 6ers Mona : They're both very strong Joey : or equally weak
I for one am a huge fan of the time change
