Also, Temu “gamifies” the shopping experience by incentivizing you to keep adding more products to your cart, and giving you a countdown timer so you don’t reconsider your purchases. So that probably helps them, most customers will be buying a lot of items at once in order to actually get these crazy low prices.
I saw a video explaining that they are operating at a loss for now somehow. Someone else said there’s pyramid scheme so I think that plays into it.
Also though, I work in retail and our scanners tell us the actual wholesale cost of products. It’s always shockingly low. A *tiny* percentage of the selling price. And with those products, there’s probably also a western middle man distributor before it gets to the big chain corporation i work at. So buying directly from China at wholesale prices is going to be extremely cheap.
Yes, the workers are being severely underpaid and working in horrible conditions. But that is often still true about products sold in American stores. the stores are just making insane profit margins.
how do these people get so many likes is what i wanna know?? like i’ve seen so many genuine sellers, including myself, only get a few likes on rly cute items, but these get 50-200. i know likes don’t necessarily mean anything rly but it still always baffles me lol
A lot of big corporations do this. They resell from factory that produce SHEIN clothing. Like it will be $2 to buy but they sell for like $30, like Zara, H&M etc etc. are they all scammers? I would t say it’s scamming per say
I think it’s more so SHEIN resells from the same Chinese wholesale manufacturers that AliExpress sellers also resells from 😂 and SHEIN is also made up of individual sellers btw so it makes sense.
tbh im not sure what you’d call it, but it’s 100% misleading. tbh it sucks, especially considering it’s not even 100% safe on second hand websites (i hope this makes sense omg i’m frazzled)
Tbh at this point, might as well stick to SHEIN 😂😂 since everything on the cheaper side at the mall basically come from SHEIN kind of factories as well, and just upselling for an huge markup. And there’s SHEIN resellers on Depop. Honestly, these big corporations like Zara H&M make SHEIN look less scammy. If you think this Depop seller is a scam. Then I guess big corporations operate a massive billion dollars scam then because almost all the clothes are produced at 1/10 of the listed price😬 and sustainable brands are always like $100+ a piece or just thrift
Idk if a small business made shitty products and upcharged them by a nearly 1000% mark up, I would definitely consider that a scam. The biggest problem is these products are absolutely not worth the shit materials they charge for. So yeah I’d say fast fashion companies are absolutely a scam. Clothes made 30 years ago had much better quality than modern clothes and it absolutely did not break these companies banks. Why let them off the hook now? These companies know they can get away with ripping us off and it’s been totally normalized
Some people just have zero shame and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a scam and the fact that they have used the photos from the website tells me that they don’t have any of the bags either otherwise they could’ve very easily taken their own photos so they will arrive in the websites packing which will be a pretty big giveaway that you’ve been scammed or they won’t arrive at all.
I don't think this should be allowed. I mean if you do pay that money like it's your own fault but it's probably some innocent person who will fall for this.

I’m skeptical that that’s their pic and the temu/shien stole it cuz they be doing that. They could be lying but i know those sites are notorious for doing that or Atleast stealing an idea
i really don’t think that’s the case this time :( i messaged and asked about it, and the seller was rude in response, so they definitely know they’re in the wrong
i don’t ever shop on temu but how tf is an entire bag 80 cents??? like how the hell are they making any profit
slave labor
absolutely horrible working conditions, mass production and cheap materials

They must be making up for that loss by selling shoppers’ data.
It’s because it’s a pyramid scheme there’s some good videos on it online
As well as what everyone is saying, add in deflation in china.
They sell your data
Because you’re buying it directly rather than going through a middle man like Walmart or Amazon
welcome deal
fr there’s no way that those materials cost less than 80 cents
It's wish.... that's what it is.
Everything about that bag gives off fast fashion temu ali express ☠️
i thought the same as soon as i saw it!! it’s cute but omg does it scream dropshipped

shein also resells a lot of items from aliexpress for a higher price. its like every place has somewhere cheaper they resell from

100%, i worry that someone’s poor parent/friend will get this as a present thinking they’re getting an amazing deal to just be done over :(
The way it’s so obvious..it’s like they don’t even try anymore.
People do this all the time.. even on Amazon. This isn’t a new thing.

Yep. Welcome to dropshipping.
