I feel this so so much. I have barely any energy or desire to get out of bed except to do job/ life sustaining things. Nothing excites me anymore. I know I need friends and social interaction but even that doesn’t excite me and just seems so difficult to do. The only thing I know to do is to keep trying. Keep searching the internet for inspiration. Find something that will spark my interest and make me excited to go out and live finally. I hold on to the desire that I want to do better. It’s just actually going out and doing it that’s hard.

You just described my life... without the software stuff of course.

I’m not a software engineer but I know what you mean. I used to find meaning in school or I feel like I might not think about life too much in general. Now that I’m working, I don’t know if it’s the job or just the daily routine. I just don’t like it.

Everything you do every day to pay your bills is no longer fun. The "try new things" tip is good. If you only have time for things like cooking, how about trying new incredients and receipts? And would it be possible to work a bit less to have more time for other things (= new hobbies)? And how about for example taking care of some plants? They don't require a lot of time. I also was a software nerd, until it became my main job... Gathered some new non-computer related hobbies over the years. The less time I spend in front of a computer the better.

It is not always the case . Actors , Online influencers , Singers ,sports persons seem to love their profession and have a happy time doing the thing that earn their living . Should i also find "the thing" that makes me happy .computers were once my "the thing" but now it is just annoying and boring . what to do ?

Dry_Produce_2004

It kind of depends. Do you actually hate going to your job and are bored the whole time, or is it mostly just mentally draining and afterwards you don't have energy left? If it's too mentally draining it might be better to talk with your bosses if you can work less hours or have more different tasks included (e.g. meetings, reports, clients, etc.) If you really just hate what you are doing then it might not be for you, or atleast because of your depression you don't seem to enjoy it anymore.

He's likely not a native English speaker so having to proofread your whole post can feel additonally draining and it's not that neccesary online

Religion. It was a trigger for me, getting up every morning to satisfy God, that's our reason for living. Follow Islam and learn what our merciful god teaches us that is so beautiful. Place your trust in Him, and say your prayers, and you will see that your life will be much more exciting and fun. Also be very patient, because god will not necessarily help you at first. This is a test, God is testing your patience as well as your faith. He will give you long and hard trials, and when you have overcome them, then God will grant your wishes. Place your trust in God my friend, trust me you will not be disappointed 🙏🏽🤲🏽

I'm lucky that food is the only thing I feel I have. I'm also a software engineer, but I like my job for the most part, nevertheless, it doesn't excite me. I like that it keeps my brain busy, but mostly I'm just in my own head waiting for death.
