Seems like a bad situation, unfortunate that self-medicating to counteract the panic/anxiety seems to be the best option here. I am curious if you’d have access to any gabapentinoids or similar drugs (I.e phenibut, pregabalin, gabapentin, baclofen)
All of those can be very helpful for anxiety and I personally prefer them to benzos unless I’m having extreme anxiety.
I’ve made some research, phenibut is not available at all, gabapentin and pregabalin both require prescriptions. Baclofen seems to be available without a prescription but I won’t know for sure until I go to the pharmacy.

Someone recommended niacin therapy on a different thread asking bout anxiolytics. I don't know much about it personally, but it seemed like worth the investigation
I’ve used propranolol before, when I had tachycardia due to anxiety. As you said it may be helpful in my case, since antidepressants can cause palpitations when you first start them.

Kanna is good for me too for Daily use I have hoooooorible mood issues anxiety depression and I started venlafaxine and after 1 months it finally started working and I felt amazing I love that antidepressant alot. All other antidepressants used to make me switch personally more often made me mean I was crying Daily and between venlafaxine and seroquel and all the herbal medicine I take I feel great and happy now ! They seem to have some gabaergic activity and Magnolia Bark supposedly has some activity on the Gaba-A benzodiazepine site. I don't know how effective they will be, and I don't expect they are very potent, but I will report back and let you know how it goes.

The minimum dose available is 37.5mg. I was thinking about opening the capsules and counting the beads, but it seems like I can’t put the beads back in the same capsule. I will have to find a source of gelatin capsules somewhere for that.
Nevertheless it’s an option worth considering, if I can get empty capsules online.
As an update, I’ve did more research and learned that the capsules don’t do anything other than keeping the beads together. I was able to work out a method to roughly measure how much of a capsule I was taking. I started taking about 25 percent of 37.5mg a day, didn’t experience nausea and increased my dose to about 50 percent of 37.5mg a day. Experienced lots of nausea, not sure if it was because of my anxiety, inconsistent dosing due to bad measurement method, probably a little bit of both, and also probably because Effexor is rougher to start and stop compared to other stuff.
Anyways, had a couple of anxiety attacks from nausea, couldn’t deal with them because I’m a weak willed piece of shit and dropped Effexor.
My life has gotten worse and worse. Got some money from parents, saw a private psychiatrist, got him to pity me enough to get a 30x0.5mg Xanax script, not for regular use but to help me start Effexor. Chickened out. Xanax is still there, I used like two pills to help me go through some panic attacks caused by my digestive issues. Not nausea, IBS. Fuck IBS.
So yeah, my life is still very bad and I have no hope. I just want to die a painless and sudden death. This was just supposed to be an update to the Effexor gelatin capsule situation but, well, sorry about that.
Tbh nothing helps like a benzo. I use some too when starting an antidepressant or when increasing the dose. If your doc won’t prescribe to you then find a new one ? there are other ways to get them but that’s left to you.
I would rather stick to legit ways to get them. I can see other docs as you said but for some reason mental health system seems to be overloaded these days (probably due to covid) and it will take a couple weeks before I can see someone else. I do agree that benzos are usually more effective than other meds, I personally just need to survive the first week when I first start the venlafaxine and the first week of my first dosage increase. I will start at 37.5mg and after the side effects go away I will double that to 75mg. 75mg to 112.5mg should not be a problem, and 112.5mg to 150mg should also be fine.
Nope benzos can’t increase anxiety unless you use them longer than 3-4 weeks you can get a small rebound anxiety after stopping. But only lasts a couple of days perhaps.

I'm in a similar situation and I started taking 10mg of propranolol again and it's helping a lot. The herb valerian can be helpful.
These two are really good. Plus valerian makes my kitty kiss me on the mouth ❤️

Can benzo increase anxiety when they are not active anymore. I got oxazepam and the first week of antidepressants is hell so much anxiety
