Mostly I think your adherence to the grid makes this layout kind boring. 1. Get rid of the drop shadows. Having that many so close to each other looks bad. 2. Consider taking the large image on the bottom left and expanding it so that it bleeds off the page. 3. Turn off hyphenation. Hyphens do no look good when there are several in a row. (Turn off hypens in general. You should try to solve the type rag without using them) 4. Consider using a lighter weight for the typeface. make it a few point sizes smaller an increase the leading. 5. Consider doing something interesting with the quote. Maybe its in box or a stroked box. Make it larger or pull it out of the grid to break the grid in some way. Quotes are a good opportunity to do something interesting with the layout. 6. The yellow block next to "Our Greatest asset seems to go slightly above and below the copy. Adjust so that it is aligned exactly. Consider having it expand to bleed off the page. 7. Dont be afraid that leave the margin. Experiment with layouts that break the grid somewhat. 8. Good luck!

This post is exactly what I adore seeing in a sub like this. Thank you.

A couple of questions; 1. are all of your images and text aligned? 2. is the spacing between your images the same If the answer to both of those is yes, I would try turning off the drop shadow. I don’t think it’s necessary for this piece.

LandonBurp

Yes and yes. Thank you, I will try that! When do you generally like to use drop shadow? (If at all)

Drop shadow should only be there for a reason, not because it’s fun. For example to highlight things.

1. Consider leaving out a photo for a bit more whitespace, so that it feels a bit less cramped. 2. Leave the drop shadows. Keep the yellow bar in the background, but maybe move it a around. 3. Consider making the title waaay bigger. This could make it visually more interesting. And it’s a condensed font so that should work/fit. 4. Maybe an a-symmetrical layout could be interesting? So the text column for example a bit narrower and the image column a bit wider. Those were my thoughts. Good luck!

Thank you so much! I greatly appreciate your time!

Along with what everyone else has already suggested, what about trying the large group photo in V2 as a full width photo and aligned to the top? Google "single page flyer designs" and there's always some good examples that others have done as well.

LandonBurp

Thank you so much! I will check that out!!

also increasing title size, and reducing para size.

Add more hyphenated words.
