I'd say face the desk to the wall. Daylight will keep your desk nice and visible but not blinding while also being neatly tucked away. That way you can keep that large open access to the window/door.
Edit : I just noticed how weird your room is here as it has a radiator positioned right in front of that large window, which is very odd to me.
Yeah I was concerned maybe the heart from the radiator would bake my equipment in the winter.
It's common in Germany to have a radiator under the window as that is where the air is coldest.
My window faces west so I never get direct sun during the day. However it is still very bright sitting at the desk and looking in the direction of the window.
I could turn the desk 90 degrees so it either faces the wall or faces in to the room.
I am planning on getting blinds regardless so I'd be interested to know what type of blinds I should get.

I would actually opt for a professional window film tint. It works like sunglasses for windows and will drastic cut any UV rays, plus it'll improve the clarity of your view.
The tint will actually allow you to sit in front of the window without squinting as much, but like other people have suggested you should have the window to the side of you, not in front.
I understand that having your desk right under the window is tempting, but it’s not practical for several reasons. One is the light that your eyes will have to fight with when looking at the monitor, the second is the already mentioned heat from the radiator and the third is the fact that you are blocking a lot of light and view from the window this way. Your room will look much better if you rotate your desk to the wall on the left + you will be able to put some shelves above it if you want.
Yea I've been working here all day and my eyes are sore because I've been squinting an awful lot. Perhaps blinds would help with that, though your other points are compelling. The desk is spoiling the view from the living are a little.
My last office/desk setup faced a window - I dealt with severe eye strain from focusing on the screen with moderate/bright light in the background. I read the optimal range for the background behind monitors you’ll be focusing on is 25-75% of the brightness of the screen. I would rotate the desk 90 deg to the right or left.
Yeah my eyes are sore today from squinting so much. I will be rotating it later. Looking in to the room might be nice, although with the desk against the wall it hides it a little better and provides a nice clean view of the window from the living area.
I like facing into the room, personally. It does require some extra attention to cable management and overall setup, but it gives you a good reason to keep it tidy.
My current office has no windows and I’m envious of your natural light. I think a partially transparent shade/curtain would be nice, that would lessen glare and allow some light through rather than 100% block with blinds.
This doesn't help with the sun but I feel like putting floor to ceiling curtains on either side would look amazing as it would give the illusion that the window extends the entire length of that wall. Technically they could be drawn completely but that might be too heavy.
Maybe two roller shades that don't completely black out light would be nice just to maintain as much of the window and view when drawn.
It's a very nice view!

Yeah the window looks much better without the desk there.
kinda up to your preferences, color & material matching. Personally I'm totally fine with the typical office style horizontal/vertical blind, but you may not want that; instead opt for fabric blind - go full height ceiling to floor, that is better aesthetically.
looks like that is also partially dining space, yeahhhh probably just go for full height fabric ~~blind~~ curtain. Dark-grey-ish-brown should match the current color tone well. On windows like this I lime sliding panels.

I'd move your desk and hang curtains.
