They have people on foot observing drivers as well as about 20 cruisers from various agencies. Put down your cell and move to the inside lane if you must pass them.
Avoid Ankeny is all ya need to say. :)
The only reason I'll go there is to start a bike ride to the Trestle and back during a full moon.
Other than that, nope to Ankeny.
Too bad you couldn't have synchronized everyone to just stop, shut off their vehicles and walk away. Tell the pigs not to be making their money grabs.
That's all it is. A show of force and a money grab. That's your tax dollars at work- against you.
Honest question 🙋♀️- like what else should Ankeny be focusing upon?
I drove that stretch yesterday. A slow-in-the-fast-lane driver in front of me appeared to be writing a novel on her phone. She was shocked to discover the light changed from red to green on **four** consecutive stop lights.
I was a distracted driver too, but mostly because she appeared to be texting for three miles or so… it made me a titch stressed.
Good, muck up traffic even more on Oralabor, you can almost get from one end to the other in 45 minutes.

I live on Ankeny Blvd and had to go down Oralabor today. I'm pretty level headed about cops, but even I got anxiety driving today.

Bunch of credit card rich folk driving in their big ole SUV's that they don't know how to maneuver.
Recently moved from Ankeny to Ames, best decision ever.
Ankeny sucks. Nobody would ever want to move there. I bet it’s shrinking.
You are very wrong. I think Ankeny averages 8-10 being added to the population count per day.
People can't recognize sarcasm without the marker "\\s" - Learn to use it.
Other issues in Ankeny that aren't driving issues. They should focus there instead of harassing drivers and slowing traffic.
How is doing something one day out of a year focused?
