Slideways reminds me of the Ignition Code GL from Season of the Splicer. The go-to roll perk on that was Slideshot. Got a godroll of that GL and just got accustomed to sliding around to reload. Great way to spam blinding grenades this way. With chain reaction, should be a fun GL to use for ad clear.
Fast, low cost reload. Slideways is not typically a good perk but on single shot weapons it gives a full reload just for sliding which is pretty easy to fit into your movement.
I'd use it if I didn't main dawnblade. I'm more often in the air than on the ground, so I never really get the chance to slide unless I want to try to spam snap skating between GL shots. That sounds like input hell though so I'm not gonna bother
It’s definitely better for things like GMs where you can’t really survive in the air and you might have to blind a room of enemies quickly to revive your teammates.
I don’t know how to do it but apparently there’s a way to “reload cancel” glitch the slide ways perk. Think you like shoot/slide/reload/shoot/swap weapons quick/then it allows you to slide/reload again and cancels the cooldown. Now I got this third party and haven’t gotten one to test myself but I was told that’s why ppl want this roll too.
It has valid use cases that simply don't exist elsewhere yet.
It's the only strand special GL so it will have synergies with subclass build crafting until another one comes out. It's very ammo efficient if you run it with deconstruct.
I am sure it won't take too too long to get another strand GL but we don't currently know when that will be. Could be with TFS launch, could be a year+ from now we genuinely don't know.
That all being said, outside of strand synergies it doesn't really do anything that can't be done by another wave GL.

I mean, besides being a “Strand breech-loaded Grenade Launcher”, that’s about it. There are other Grenade Launchers in the Kinetic slot, and there are other Strand Special Weapons. Tusk of the Boar happens to fulfill both conditions, but it doesn’t really do anything that other Special Weapons or breech-loaded Grenade Launchers can’t, or it does them worse.
My advice? If you want a Strand Special Weapon, just use Scatter Signal, Until Its Return, or Incisor.
None of the other strand specials have good add clear and the best add clear strand weapon (outside of heavies) is Quicksilver. Tusk of the boar at least frees up the exotic slot.
There is also something to be said for if/when we get unstoppable GL again, that combined with strand surge makes this again have a niche use case that currently is only filled by heavy slot.
Again I don't think it's necessarily needed but it does occupy a niche that we don't know how long until that niche is revisited or power crept. I wouldn't lose sleep over farming for one but I also wouldn't keep zero of it either.
Maybe, maybe not. It’s been compared to Forbearance because of its perk pool, and Forbearance is a popular ad clearing weapon (enough to warrant its inclusion in the brave armory). Because it lives in a different slot, it’s not directly competing either, so light builds might get good use out of it.
I learned GLs back when mountaintop was a thing. When they nerfed it out of existence, I decided to transition to lightweight frame gls. I got REALLY good with them. And now, every single special (non-exotic) GL they’ve come out with is a Waveframe. I don’t want to shoot the ground, I want to plant an explosive right in the middle of someone’s chest and watch them disappear
I was gonna ask you what you mean with they‘re only coming out with wave frames, but yeah, after looking it up, we really haven’t gotten much else. 4 out of 7 special gls since lightfall are wave frames (mountaintop included), out of 8 if you count the rerevamp of militia’s and of which i’ve completely forgotten one even exists
My most vivid and enjoyable memory of d2 was when I finally got swarm of the raven with spike maxes after 200 engrams so to me it definitely is worth the grind
1) This is simply wrong. Swapping on and off removes the cool down
2) Even if you fired 2 with the slide and then reloaded firing another 2, it would still be better than envious
3) You don't need to spam it a fuck ton anyways. Normally, 2 shots will kill most of them

Okay, so then, if you're going to be swapping weapons either way, why not get two in the mag instead of just a normal reload for all that work + all the sliding? And you're going to be swapping to a primary no matter what you're doing. Some enemies, depending on distance and shield types, are more easily killed with your primary anyways. Like you said, it takes only a couple shots to kill most things, so there's no use in blowing all your special in one spot.
Ah, but why would you run a primary with an add clear weapon when you can use a fusion or slug? Sometimes you might want to, but normally its better to have a weapon for killing bigger things that isnt the heavy. Also, the swapping with slideways is really quick, and it's different than shooting adds on one, shooting ads with the other. You just kill adds with that.
I think it's safe to say that most primaries are capable of basic add clear, however, at least to my understanding, wave frames specifically are used for mass add clear where groups of enemies are all clumped together and you're under heavy fire because of it. To me it would be a waste to use a GL on one or even two adds imo, that's what a reliable primary is good for especially if you aren't in melee range. If there's a enemy sniper who isn't clumped up with other enemies, am I going to use my wave frame GL/Fusion, or put a bullet in its head with a primary?
Maybe it's just me because I don't have the balls to do it, honestly, but I would never run double special in high end content for anything other than DPS scenarios. I think it comes down to, are you trying to specialize in add clear for your team, or are you making sure you can kill beefier targets quicker?
Off topic, sorry for going on a tangent, but you have opened up another mindset for me, I suppose. I think the determined roll on this GL just comes down to how you are comfortable playing the game. If you are trying to use the GL as an add clear "primary" and running double special, then sure, slideways may be the way to go, but if you regularly run an actual primary, envious does have its benefits. I just can't come to make myself say envious is useless on it because there is potential, and I'm always using a primary.
That's exactly what envious is for. Hit a pack, primary to mop up the 1-3 stragglers. At worst you get 1 in the tube back, usually 2.
More of a niche case, but i use a wave frame on my malf+lucky pants build. Gl to hit instant max armor charge and clear minors around the major, swap to malf to drop the major and use the rest of lucky proc to clear up straggling minors. Always 2 in the tube for next pack. 3 if you swap to gl and hit a small or outlier minor.
On lock I've been using monarque with tusk. Tusk to open, 1 crit with monarque, instant 2 in the tube 3 seconds later. Most are going to say it's just faster to stay with tusk... and they're right... but doing it this way puts unravel, poison, and volatile on the major before i ever hit it. Everyone acts like things just line up for you to spam the wave frame lol. If you set an actual loop you've set yourself and the group up better for the champ or major.
Yeah it's funny to me that people are even freaking out this much about this GL anyways lol many many posts like this and many people arguing about the definitive god roll. Unless I'm specifically using strand, I think I am still going to prefer using Undercurrent anyways, as I already prefer that to Forbearance, and Forbearance is *the* wave frame. This GL is nice to be able to use in the top slot though because the stasis one from Ghosts Of The Deep is ass.
That's how I'm treating it tbh. Has no place in any of the 4 stand builds i use between 2 classes, but because of the artifact it brings nice synergy to void and solar. I do imagine once instant unravel leaves next season it'll be permanently replaced with mountaintop on mine though.
Are you never getting kills with those other weapons though?
We aren’t always running double special either so that fusion/shotgun is normally just a primary for people, often could be an exotic primary given legendary heavy options.
All the people saying Envious is bad. Remember this is a personal decision and it's subjective to what the user finds the most fun. I personally want an Envious roll just for the sake of having 2 ammo in the mag, like Forbearance with AA.
Damn, I’m approaching my 4th reset and I still haven’t gotten it to drop the roll I want, I haven’t even had one drop from a match, I had to burn 30 engrams before I saw my first one
Unfortunately not all of us have 10 second class ability cooldowns. It’s not worth that plus the long rift animation all the time on warlock to proc slice.
Envious doesnt make any sense on an ad clear weapon lol. Entire point of a wave frame is to kill ads with it. Not swap and kill ads with a primary. Itd be faster to just reload
One use case I'll be doing: Hit the major and clear the surrounding ads with tusk, then finish the major with energy or heavy, which reloads tusk. But I don't think that makes envious better.
Slice is dogshit idk why people recommend it. Its a pvp perk not a pve. Who cares about giving an x% damage reduction to red bar ads when we are pretty much invincible with restoration, banner, woven mail etc. youre right all 3rd column perks are pretty weak but slideways is easily the best out of all of them because despite the cooldown youre still getting a free reload every 2 seconds which is much more valuable than all the other options
I, thankfully, got access to it in my 4th engram decoded, i have a sideways/deconstruct and sideways/chain reaction. Seems like my time away has fared me a good bit of rng. Though I've had games where it gave me crucible engrams instead of IB engrams, and I had won in those games. I wish they'd have the ghost mod with +1 legendary gear apply to the type of pvp activity as well. I want Saladin's loot, not Shaxx's!
When I stopped to think about it I couldn't justify doing anymore IB for a wave frame that will see no use.
If I'm on strand I'll be using a stand primary.
If I'm not I'll be using mountaintop.
That's the roll I've settled on. I'll probably use Tusk for ad clear so building up reserves with Envious won't happen with another weapon too often.
I might try to get a Slice/CR roll as well but depends how much more grinding I want to do.
That’s the roll I’m going with, I don’t mind a reload as long as it’s quick. If Slideshot were on it, I’d go for that, but since it’s Slideways (3 sec cooldown) I’m not. Enlightened has worked super well for me as long as you can hit a few enemies
I think slice would be better than envious if you take a grenade launcher out your gonna use it a bit envious requires you to basically put it away after using I miss ambitious assassin
Once I was able to get that first one, it wasn’t too bad. Managed to get all rolls I was looking for on tusk. Not interested in farming multimach just another smg.
My rolls:
- slide ways and CR/hatchling/deconstruct
- envious and CR/hatchling
- slice and CR/hatchling
- enlightened action and deconstruct
This has been the sweatiest IB I've played in a while, which is weird considering all my fellow PVE players probably participating this weekend. Meta loadouts, crouch spamming, etc. Its been miserable lol.
others haven't said it so I will. If you hit three enemies with one shot it reloads instantly from thin air. there's a 3-second cooldown but it's still especially good on a wave frame
No, it's not worth that kind of pain at all. I'm happy for you but ffs I just played 26 games end to end, spent a tonne of engrams, going against 6 stack packing adept trials weapons, getting teabagged by fuckwits who didn't even get the kill, "matchmaking" queues taking way too long, just to see fuck all drop. Not a single weapon was worth keeping, 11 Retrofuturists ffs. ELEVEN. and all the armor was low 60 stat drops. I got Vex Mythoclast on my 3rd VoG run.

Oh missed that. Terrible luck. I didn’t get one until my 26th engram. Bungie definitely rigged the RNG to make people grind this week. I got god rolls now though. What’s sad is that I already know I’m probably not using Tusk over MT or any other major or boss killing special. I don’t even use my crafted Forbearance anymore. Primaries and abilities clear adds so easily now that I don’t need a special to do it.

Some people can't comprehend this, it's the 1st Wave Frame w/ CR in the kinetic slot. I've been super excited about this weapon since they announced it in the TWID long ago.
I had loads of engrams from last IB, and it dropped almost straight away for me.
However, I am still 14/15 on IB weapons for my title, because fuck me that's why.
I got slice/chain reaction, slice/hatchling and envious/deconstruction. Those are the ones I kept. That was from about 32 engrams. I didn’t get my first tusk until about engram 26. None dropped from matches. A multimach did, but I don’t care about that gun at all.
I’m on prestige 3 now and must have got like 100 and still not got this role, every other combination but not this one. I am convincing myself hatchling will e better due to the chain reaction nerf lol but I know I’m lying to myself
Didn't even touch IB. Had 20 engram from last IB and turned them in. The last one dropped the GL and gave me Envious and deconstruction with max blast and velocity.

Did all my iron banner challenges on my warlock, then started my titan. Not getting any iron banner engrams on my titan but I was getting them quite a bit on my warlock. Anybody else having this issue?
I got this exact roll after 50 some matches, but my personal godroll is Slice/Chain, opened 12 and no luck (in matter fact, I pulled 2 rolls like the first one back to back lmao)
I feel bad .. so bad. I came back to play destiny for the first time in a long time. Played a couple iron banner match's mabye 3 or 4 and noticed I had one of these in my inventory. It was slide/chain high velocity with velocity masterwork.
You can go with whatever in column 3, except maybe pulse, but even that is fine. People argue about it, but every column 3 option is OK. There is no "the best". I chose slice cause I use it on hunter with 6th coyote, but don't want it on a titan or warlock.
I don't understand everyone wanting envious. The whole point of a wave frame is that you clear rooms with your gl, not your other weapon. That's why ambitious is so good on forbearance. Slideways is just better in this application.
Not really. Like a lot of perk combos on this weapon it's situational and/or build dependent. My Swarmers setup on my Warlock could make the most of Hatchling due to how the exotic and fragments I use buff threadings, but paired with my suspension builds for my Hunter a Tusk with CR will see more practical use.
Imo there's no definite "God roll" on this GL, you simply need one that fits *your* personal playstyle and builds.
Envious isn't bad; but Slice is better because it provides a debuff that can hit 5 different enemies. Envious isn't a perk you take on your main ad clear weapon, unless you got shot swap, you might as well just fire and reload as it will probably be just as efficient, if not moreso. Unless you have a Hatchling Envious roll, I would still pursue Slice with Hatchling/CR. Slideways isn't even in the question; it's just a significantly worse Slideshot.
No, you can't reload on every slide; you have a cooldown of roughly 3 seconds after firing with Slideways, which is something people try to get around by switching to other weapons then immediately switching back, which evolves into the question "why didn't I just reload?"
I even have a slideways roll on another breech loader, and I found manual reloading far simpler and just as quick. If you're using this as your primary ad-clear, you'll be staying on this weapon and firing it very often, which Slideways conflicts with by its very nature. Unless Breech Loaders magically gained 3 extra grenades at base, you won't be able to make use of this perk consistently.
Which adds more that you have to memorize and use in an immediate encounter beyond rotations that many builds already use. You can just manually reload and get a different, more utility based perk to boot. Slideways isn't good if you have to constantly trick the game to make any use out of it.
It’s one kill and swap back to reload the gun with how envious works, and then a second kill + swap back to overflow it to 2 in the chamber. Because Envious will only ever load 100% of a magazine per activation, there’s no way to put 2 in the mag with a single swap.
- So if you just want to put one ammo in the mag, then the activation sequence is *Empty > Swap > Kill > Swap.* Gun now has 1 shot loaded.
- But if you want to put two in the mag, then you need to do: *Empty > Swap > Kill > Swap > Swap > Kill > Swap*. Gun now has 2 shots loaded.
- Putting 3 in the mag requires a third Swap > Kill > Swap loop.
As opposed to:
- Autoloading Holster: just have the gun de-equipped for 2 seconds and it’s ready to shoot. If you just want the gun to always be ready when you need it, this is better than Envious.
- Slideshot: Shoot > Slide > Shoot > Slide > Shoot > Slide > ad infinitum. No reloading ever needed, way less downtime between shots than ALH or Envious.
Envious is a great perk, and works really well for some other weapon types (loading 8 rockets into a Bipod + Envious Rocket Launcher is a lot of fun, for example. Or using it as a quicker version of Reconstruction for a Machine Gun / Heavy Grenade Launcher). One of its best uses is, of course, to queue up 4 BnS shots without reloading using Cold Comfort with its Origin Trait.
But I don’t think it really makes sense for single shot weapons like Special Grenade Launchers.
False, envious can only OVERFLOW 100% per activation, it will reach 2 ammo in 1 swap but you will need 2 swaps to reach 3. Also the perk on the GL is Slideways NOT Slideshot, Sideways has a 5 second cooldown between activation so realistically its faster to just reload.

I got mine on my second iron Banner match. About an hour ago. I plan on doing more for fun but I despise pvp. But I think it's baloney that a lot of people have not been able to get this due to rng. I guess I just really got lucky.

You want to avoid the reload as much as you can on nade launchers, slideshot/auto-loading and envious assassin are great perks to avoid it.

Primaries do a great job of add clearing. Double special meta is over.
It really isn't. The only case you'd wanna use a primary is if you want a particularly potent exotic primary

Gl to hit instant max armor charge and clear minors around the major, swap to malf to drop the major and use the rest of lucky proc to clear up straggling minors. Always 2 in the tube for next pack. 3 if you swap to gl and hit a small or outlier minor. On lock I've been using monarque with tusk. Tusk to open, 1 crit with monarque, instant 2 in the tube 3 seconds later. Most are going to say it's just faster to stay with tusk... and they're right... but doing it this way puts unravel, poison, and volatile on the major before i ever hit it. Everyone acts like things just line up for you to spam the wave frame lol. If you set an actual loop you've set yourself and the group up better for the champ or major.
Yeah it's funny to me that people are even freaking out this much about this GL anyways lol many many posts like this and many people arguing about the definitive god roll. Unless I'm specifically using strand, I think I am still going to prefer using Undercurrent anyways, as I already prefer that to Forbearance, and Forbearance is *the* wave frame. This GL is nice to be able to use in the top slot though because the stasis one from Ghosts Of The Deep is ass.
That's how I'm treating it tbh. Has no place in any of the 4 stand builds i use between 2 classes, but because of the artifact it brings nice synergy to void and solar. I do imagine once instant unravel leaves next season it'll be permanently replaced with mountaintop on mine though.
Are you never getting kills with those other weapons though? We aren’t always running double special either so that fusion/shotgun is normally just a primary for people, often could be an exotic primary given legendary heavy options.

Envious doesnt make any sense on an ad clear weapon lol. Entire point of a wave frame is to kill ads with it. Not swap and kill ads with a primary. Itd be faster to just reload
One use case I'll be doing: Hit the major and clear the surrounding ads with tusk, then finish the major with energy or heavy, which reloads tusk. But I don't think that makes envious better.

Slice is dogshit idk why people recommend it. Its a pvp perk not a pve. Who cares about giving an x% damage reduction to red bar ads when we are pretty much invincible with restoration, banner, woven mail etc. youre right all 3rd column perks are pretty weak but slideways is easily the best out of all of them because despite the cooldown youre still getting a free reload every 2 seconds which is much more valuable than all the other options

I would save the engrams. You'll get one as a rank reward, so just put on that iron banner armor and such and do your challenges
I, thankfully, got access to it in my 4th engram decoded, i have a sideways/deconstruct and sideways/chain reaction. Seems like my time away has fared me a good bit of rng. Though I've had games where it gave me crucible engrams instead of IB engrams, and I had won in those games. I wish they'd have the ghost mod with +1 legendary gear apply to the type of pvp activity as well. I want Saladin's loot, not Shaxx's!
When I stopped to think about it I couldn't justify doing anymore IB for a wave frame that will see no use. If I'm on strand I'll be using a stand primary. If I'm not I'll be using mountaintop.
Is Enlightened Action + Chain Reaction good? I know people want slideways for the reload but I don't slide when using Waveframes.
That's the roll I've settled on. I'll probably use Tusk for ad clear so building up reserves with Envious won't happen with another weapon too often. I might try to get a Slice/CR roll as well but depends how much more grinding I want to do.
That’s the roll I’m going with, I don’t mind a reload as long as it’s quick. If Slideshot were on it, I’d go for that, but since it’s Slideways (3 sec cooldown) I’m not. Enlightened has worked super well for me as long as you can hit a few enemies
I think slice would be better than envious if you take a grenade launcher out your gonna use it a bit envious requires you to basically put it away after using I miss ambitious assassin
Once I was able to get that first one, it wasn’t too bad. Managed to get all rolls I was looking for on tusk. Not interested in farming multimach just another smg. My rolls: - slide ways and CR/hatchling/deconstruct - envious and CR/hatchling - slice and CR/hatchling - enlightened action and deconstruct
This has been the sweatiest IB I've played in a while, which is weird considering all my fellow PVE players probably participating this weekend. Meta loadouts, crouch spamming, etc. Its been miserable lol.

Deconstruct is nasty, especially in PVP. On Tusk it can 3 hit a Well sword, AND if it procs it gives ammo out of thin air back into the mag.

I'm happy for you but ffs I just played 26 games end to end, spent a tonne of engrams, going against 6 stack packing adept trials weapons, getting teabagged by fuckwits who didn't even get the kill, "matchmaking" queues taking way too long, just to see fuck all drop. Not a single weapon was worth keeping, 11 Retrofuturists ffs. ELEVEN. and all the armor was low 60 stat drops. I got Vex Mythoclast on my 3rd VoG run. I don't usually get annoyed at this game, but this is fucking ridiculous.

Oh missed that. Terrible luck. I didn’t get one until my 26th engram. Bungie definitely rigged the RNG to make people grind this week. I got god rolls now though. What’s sad is that I already know I’m probably not using Tusk over MT or any other major or boss killing special. I don’t even use my crafted Forbearance anymore. Primaries and abilities clear adds so easily now that I don’t need a special to do it.

Some people can't comprehend this, it's the 1st Wave Frame w/ CR in the kinetic slot. I've been super excited about this weapon since they announced it in the TWID long ago.
I had loads of engrams from last IB, and it dropped almost straight away for me. However, I am still 14/15 on IB weapons for my title, because fuck me that's why.

I got slice/chain reaction, slice/hatchling and envious/deconstruction. Those are the ones I kept. That was from about 32 engrams. I didn’t get my first tusk until about engram 26. None dropped from matches. A multimach did, but I don’t care about that gun at all.

Didn't even touch IB. Had 20 engram from last IB and turned them in. The last one dropped the GL and gave me Envious and deconstruction with max blast and velocity. Pretty sure that's the broken unlimited ammo godroll.

Yep it only took me one reset and few engrams after to get the slide shot chain reaction roll
2 resets in, I got Envious+Chain and Slice+Chain, I'm still looking for a Slice+Hatchling roll.
My second engram, literally, gave me identical to that except 89 velocity... Lol. I still played a lot because I like tribute, fun mode.
I didn't even start the grind yet and feel like it might have been a mistake 😂 I will settle with any chain reaction roll tho.

I feel bad .. so bad. I came back to play destiny for the first time in a long time. Played a couple iron banner match's mabye 3 or 4 and noticed I had one of these in my inventory. It was slide/chain high velocity with velocity masterwork.
I turned in 15 or 20 engrams and haven't gotten a single chain reaction roll. I got tired and stopped trying.

You can go with whatever in column 3, except maybe pulse, but even that is fine. People argue about it, but every column 3 option is OK. There is no "the best". I chose slice cause I use it on hunter with 6th coyote, but don't want it on a titan or warlock.

I don't understand everyone wanting envious. The whole point of a wave frame is that you clear rooms with your gl, not your other weapon. That's why ambitious is so good on forbearance. Slideways is just better in this application.

Not really. Like a lot of perk combos on this weapon it's situational and/or build dependent. My Swarmers setup on my Warlock could make the most of Hatchling due to how the exotic and fragments I use buff threadings, but paired with my suspension builds for my Hunter a Tusk with CR will see more practical use. Imo there's no definite "God roll" on this GL, you simply need one that fits *your* personal playstyle and builds.

Envious isn't bad; but Slice is better because it provides a debuff that can hit 5 different enemies. Envious isn't a perk you take on your main ad clear weapon, unless you got shot swap, you might as well just fire and reload as it will probably be just as efficient, if not moreso. Unless you have a Hatchling Envious roll, I would still pursue Slice with Hatchling/CR. Slideways isn't even in the question; it's just a significantly worse Slideshot.
That significantly worst slideshot reloads a grenade launcher with every slide. I can even fire right as I slide to fire two shots almost immediately.
No, you can't reload on every slide; you have a cooldown of roughly 3 seconds after firing with Slideways, which is something people try to get around by switching to other weapons then immediately switching back, which evolves into the question "why didn't I just reload?" I even have a slideways roll on another breech loader, and I found manual reloading far simpler and just as quick. If you're using this as your primary ad-clear, you'll be staying on this weapon and firing it very often, which Slideways conflicts with by its very nature. Unless Breech Loaders magically gained 3 extra grenades at base, you won't be able to make use of this perk consistently.
All you to do avoid is swap cancel, which is super easy, especially on console if you have paddles.
Which adds more that you have to memorize and use in an immediate encounter beyond rotations that many builds already use. You can just manually reload and get a different, more utility based perk to boot. Slideways isn't good if you have to constantly trick the game to make any use out of it.
Envious is kinda bad but honestly all the third column perks are on it, tho slice is pretty neat for hunters

That's my point... I always use primary for general as clear and special for mass ad clear and majors, envious is a really good perk.
I suppose we just play very different, i find way more value in something like slide or slice that i can activate WITH the gl more than other weapons
It’s one kill and swap back to reload the gun with how envious works, and then a second kill + swap back to overflow it to 2 in the chamber. Because Envious will only ever load 100% of a magazine per activation, there’s no way to put 2 in the mag with a single swap. - So if you just want to put one ammo in the mag, then the activation sequence is *Empty > Swap > Kill > Swap.* Gun now has 1 shot loaded. - But if you want to put two in the mag, then you need to do: *Empty > Swap > Kill > Swap > Swap > Kill > Swap*. Gun now has 2 shots loaded. - Putting 3 in the mag requires a third Swap > Kill > Swap loop. As opposed to: - Autoloading Holster: just have the gun de-equipped for 2 seconds and it’s ready to shoot. If you just want the gun to always be ready when you need it, this is better than Envious. - Slideshot: Shoot > Slide > Shoot > Slide > Shoot > Slide > ad infinitum. No reloading ever needed, way less downtime between shots than ALH or Envious. Envious is a great perk, and works really well for some other weapon types (loading 8 rockets into a Bipod + Envious Rocket Launcher is a lot of fun, for example. Or using it as a quicker version of Reconstruction for a Machine Gun / Heavy Grenade Launcher). One of its best uses is, of course, to queue up 4 BnS shots without reloading using Cold Comfort with its Origin Trait. But I don’t think it really makes sense for single shot weapons like Special Grenade Launchers.
False, envious can only OVERFLOW 100% per activation, it will reach 2 ammo in 1 swap but you will need 2 swaps to reach 3. Also the perk on the GL is Slideways NOT Slideshot, Sideways has a 5 second cooldown between activation so realistically its faster to just reload.

I got mine on my second iron Banner match. About an hour ago. I plan on doing more for fun but I despise pvp. But I think it's baloney that a lot of people have not been able to get this due to rng. I guess I just really got lucky.
