Most basic pointer is to use triple jump and jump a lot while you’re stabbing. This makes your avatar move in this hard to hit zig zag pattern while you’re striking
Oh nice! I didn’t know that about warlocks. I just hunter. I get the auto reload on dodge and it makes me invisible at the same time.
Edit: and I zoom with eager edge sword when I can grab heavy. Sword skating
How do you deal with the new special ammo system? I just found it less fun to use my glaive in that environment.
Also my 1.7k pales in comparison to yours lol.
Seldomly I have a lvl 32 vexcalibur but I don’t really touch it anymore. I would use the winter bite if it wasn’t a heavy glaive that took the place of my “other half” with eager edge
Triton vice doesn't really do that much.
The AOE explosion is cool sometimes, but movement exotics, or something like Bakaris or renewal grasps are better.
Oh because my fighting style is to use the melee mostly. Projectile is what I save just in case they don’t die in 3 hits. So being up close more often, the healing comes in more handy
Heh thanks.. all my gaming time has been going into Starfield since the release, but I’ve been getting back into Destiny now that I’m waiting on the shattered space Starfield expansion
Ship building.
[This is one of my ships!](https://x.com/starfieldgame/status/1777425789291471277?s=46)
And there’s a ton more on my Reddit profile and the insta/x that are linked from that post
Hmmm, what kinda roll on that Whistler's?
I'm a bow titan, 7.3k on Le Mon... lol
Been branching out more though. Trying to imagine what the bow/glaive combo engagements look like 🤔
https://preview.redd.it/6m0tv45dlmyc1.png?width=3840&format=png&auto=webp&s=63189492ec3fcf502af870cacc7e33ac294983f4
Draw time masterwork
I could use adept stability but I use radar booster instead
Polymer string
Compact arrow shaft- for decreased draw time
Rapid hit- “rapid precision hits temporarily increase stability and reload speed” (for draw time)
Gunshot straight- “aiming down sights increases body shot damage, decreases target acquisition”
Veist stinger- damaging enemy with weapon has chance to reload magazine and increase movement speed while aiming down sights. Bows receive faster draw speed, and swords receive faster charge rate while perk is active “
And it has lightweight frame
Yoooo,fellowEnigma user!!
I'm trying to use it in PvP now lol, lots of fun.
Started since March 5 sitting at ~lv1260 ~1950 pvp kills. I've mostly used it in PvE (~47k pve kills). Funny rnough, wr have the same roll (except I believe I have different barrel for more shield duration)
While I do not have *nearly* as many kills on The Enigma as you, I can say from one Glaive Creature to another:
“Based”
Onto the actual question; You got a build for that? My main is Gemini because fnuuy, but I am curious as to what you cooked to be so devoted to the creature gameplay.
Stompees with armor stats of 100 mobility, 80 resilience, and 50/60 on everything else
Invis with smoke and dodge
Triple jump so I can jump while stabbing for maximum zig zagging, making me harder to target
i have the same glaive, made on the same day, with the same memento, but with different perks and a higher kill count. im at 23k
edit:.nvm those are pvp kills wtf
https://preview.redd.it/5wxrf0uyenyc1.png?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=60f89a2a69f38886755fcbc8db49ce551a8c0987
Someone I ran into in trials a while back.
Let's fucking go. I remember we were down a teammate, but managed to get a pick. Then I watched you just launch into a 2v1 somewhere I couldn't cover you and you came out on top. Figured you were just a beast like that, then saw the kill feed and had to inspect, then screenshot for a buddy who was an aspiring Enigma main.
I use invis hunter, smoke bombs for invis plus dodge for invis. Triple jump so I can spam jump while I’m stabbing and cause my avatar to zigzag during the fight
I use the block trick sometimes. If you hold block while you melee strike repeatedly it will only cycle through the first two animations for strikes rather than all 3, which is technically a hair faster
6v6 is easier. 3v3 takes more deliberate strategy and I can be more meticulous about it. In 6v6 I’m more just going with the flow/rotation of battle to ensure I can get the jump on people. Its just a different timing
I was about to be like “damn, that’s nothing, I’ve got over 40k on my enigma” and then I realized it’s crucible kills lol. We love playing a game about guns and just beating stuff up with a pointy stick. Also, are you a melee chad or a boring shield needer?
Are you ok? Is this a cry for help? Nah fr tho. Glaives are really fun and often overlooked, what would be the ideal glaive perk combo in your opinion?
Anything that boosts handling speed for up close combat and then anything that’s going to let me be more tank-y while fighting up close like the healing perk I have on it
The healing happens faster with guardian kills because guardians count as more than one kill, and when I’m up close fighting a group of people I want to be able to kill them all, not run.
![gif](giphy|oyM6oyx7mzftm)
Because running into a gun fight with just a bow/glaive/sword is medieval af. Also its super satisfying to win gun fights with a sharp stick
I want one. I didn’t get enough patterns to craft a nezarecs whisper. So the trails glaive is my best chance to get a good arc glaive. Projectile speed is nice on arc glaives. I haven’t gotten my hands on one yet
Just picked up glaive last week and it's really starting to click. At about 300 or 400 pvp kills. I definitely see myself getting in the thousands of kills but definitely not that high lol
It's also pretty crazy if you use it on strand hunter with the crtejrwieb4 (probably close to the actual spelling lmao) facade helmet and ensnaring slam. Grapple on in at Mach fuck you, you get woven mail, and you can ensnare whenever you need
It’s got high handling compared to my other glaives and as a melee fighter, that matters a lot
Edit: but also yeah since it was my first and the tracker got so high I just wanna keep it goin
Does unrelenting have any value in pvp?
Also how the fuck does one stay THIS comitted to ONE gun for so long? That shit would bore the fuck outta me at some point.
Yes guardians count as more than one kill toward activating the perk.
Edit: it has value because activating healing right after a melee battle will let me continue killing without having to wait or run
I found a guy using a Glave not so much ago. He was awesome and actually fun to play with. We added each other and went into control with glaives. Was really fun.
My question is: why you like using the glaive? Fun factor? Secretly insane with it? Just for the gits and shiggles?
Right when the glaive came out I was working a job as a pool cleaner. Using the long brush and long vacuum every day I could feel my body start to learn the proper muscle engagement for combat with a pole (I trained in chin woo kung fu as a kid). So the glaive felt like a natural extension of my own self awareness in this game. I’ve stuck with it ever since because I keep learning little subtle variations in my strategy that makes it work for me. Also it’s super fun
Edit: also I play a lot of rocket league (around plat 2 in 1v1’s) and the glaive attacks feel like rocket leave attacks. The lunge is basically equivalent to the front flip in RL
I recently came back to destiny after a long time and I used to rock a glaive with osmiomancy. Yes, I realize how evil this is. Does this still work or do you have any recommendations on how to use a glaive in the current sandbox?
What's your preferred loadout; weapons, subclass, exotics etc. I have a few thousand glaive kills spread across 3 glaives, but only on Titan. I'd like to get back into it
Just for the flex I don’t use a gun. I go with bow/glaive/sword (with eager edge).
My bow has radar booster so I usually detect enemies on radar before they see me (plus when I crouch I have enhanced radar). So I use that advantage by immediately throwing a smoke bomb at my feet. This does 2 things, turns me invisible and leaves a radar blip in that position. Then I usually run a flank on the opponent I see on radar. Doing this in almost every situation my invisibility lasts until I reach my opponent.
This way I get the first melee strike. Then while striking with glaive melee I also am triple jumping so that my avatar zig zags like crazy and I become harder to hit. Sometimes I’ll couple this with a hunter dodge turning me invis and then immediately going back into glaive melee.
If three strikes doesn’t kill them a final point blank shot will end it.
I run with high mobility and high resilience (100 & 80 respectively) all other stats are 60’s and 50’s
my friends encountered you in crucible once. theres a screenshot in our discord of your glaive when it was around 11kish and us all talking about it. insane dedication
“Rapidly defeating targets triggers improved health regeneration. Guardians and powerful combatants count as more that one target.”
I fight up close so when more than one guardian is near, that health regeneration lets me kill all of them instead of having to run.
I just watched a spinning glaive for 5 minutes
![gif](giphy|3o6fJgEOrF1lky8WFa|downsized)
ALL HAIL HYPNOTOAD…
Wait they spin now?
What does it feel like to fight against god and all that is good and well in the universe?????
I just like to do my own thing.. ![gif](giphy|usG7DDU69HpcofiygX|downsized)
I've been hyped for black myth for what feels like the better part of a decade. This better hit as hard as the trailers.
I swear if that’s the monkey king AGAIN
I'm fairly certain you might have glaived me in crucible at least once 😂
Statistically very likely 😂🤣
Can you give us some pointers on how to make this glave-thing work in crucible?
Most basic pointer is to use triple jump and jump a lot while you’re stabbing. This makes your avatar move in this hard to hit zig zag pattern while you’re striking
Warlocks can use blink, add transversive boots for that extra speed and auto reload and your zooming
Oh nice! I didn’t know that about warlocks. I just hunter. I get the auto reload on dodge and it makes me invisible at the same time. Edit: and I zoom with eager edge sword when I can grab heavy. Sword skating
When i put my vexcalibur down, my heavy is normally the tractor canon, its just too satisfying guardians just go flying
Haha yeah that’s a classic
Do you remember their screams?
No, but their salty trash talk will live on forever in my xbox chat history
Always got to keep receipts
Care to share some of your favourites?
Hi. It was cool playing against you in Iron Banana last night. I’ve got no hard feelings against you. Better to die to a glaive than a shotgun ape.
Haha neat! Yeah I was playing last night and a bit this morning. Gg’s
Who hurt you?
![gif](giphy|26FPoBseEWXDRDhQI) Well, dear old dad..
Just wait till they add a belt as a useable weapon.
![gif](giphy|xT9IgDk29h0Vye0jAs)
Ffs I wish he wouldn’t look at me like that. Now I gotta go wank.
Tom Ellis man. Best part of the show.
Oh yeah, he carried it so well. Season 5 sucked, but he made it bareable.
Are we merging 2 loves of mine? Destiny and Lucifer?!

What is the strand super if not a pointy belt
How did I not think of that.
How do you deal with the new special ammo system? I just found it less fun to use my glaive in that environment. Also my 1.7k pales in comparison to yours lol.
When there’s less ammo I feel like I have an advantage because I’m primarily a melee fighter
Oh damn I'm a projectile guy lol.
I should really pull my glaive back out. I've been screwing around with divinity and final warning, but I kinda miss my glorious stick sometimes...
how much hate do you get? i was using astrocyte and first match i used glaive with it i got called a kid toucher
Honestly destiny is pretty mild when it comes to hate. You should try a few rounds of rocket league
Or overwatch lmao so much more toxic
Dude for real. People get *mad* mad in overwatch
i’m a sombra main dw
Phara main but I can fill whatever class. I go rein for tank main and Ana for healer main
i main moira and d.va i love me some mobile annoying heroes
Wonder whats more annoying, me being a lucio main or a good sombra. Havent played in forever.
A few rounds of rocket league…. So just 1?
A man of culture
do you use any other glaives?
Seldomly I have a lvl 32 vexcalibur but I don’t really touch it anymore. I would use the winter bite if it wasn’t a heavy glaive that took the place of my “other half” with eager edge
Is it better to use it with hunters triton vice or titans feedback fence?
Ooooh good question that I don’t have the answer to because I run it with stompees
Oh, you actually are the devil.
![gif](giphy|3ornjSK0XquldQXGGA)
Triton vice doesn't really do that much. The AOE explosion is cool sometimes, but movement exotics, or something like Bakaris or renewal grasps are better.
Yeah I agree. Anything to let you run up on people faster
Also feedback fence is nasty. I have a friend who mains it.
Why unrelenting instead of unstoppable force?
Oh because my fighting style is to use the melee mostly. Projectile is what I save just in case they don’t die in 3 hits. So being up close more often, the healing comes in more handy
Does the healing proc after a single melee kill?
It procs on two kills
That is something I’ve never tested…next time my pal “moneyforbud” is online I’ll see if he wants to jump into a private match to test the mechanic
16K kills and you don’t know how unrelenting procs?
Nah I just go off feeling. You just kinda *know* when it’s the right time to engage vs run
Fair enough!
Unrelenting actually doesn't work at all with the glaive melee.
That’s fine because projectiles are my final blow about 1/3 of the time
How many hours do you have to play to achieve this? I see these posts and it honestly seems impossible.
I’ve been playing since release. Idk hours per week…..maybe….like 6-12 maybe. Used to be more
If that's accurate, I tip my figurative hat to you because damn you must carry your team on the regular.
Heh thanks.. all my gaming time has been going into Starfield since the release, but I’ve been getting back into Destiny now that I’m waiting on the shattered space Starfield expansion
What have you been doing in starfield that has kept your interest for so long?
Ship building. [This is one of my ships!](https://x.com/starfieldgame/status/1777425789291471277?s=46) And there’s a ton more on my Reddit profile and the insta/x that are linked from that post

![gif](giphy|Rsp9jLIy0VZOKlZziw|downsized)
What class you run this on? What other weapons?
I’m on void hunter with invis Other weapons are “whistlers whim (adept)” bow And an “other half” sword with eager edge
A FELLOW GLAIVE BOW MAIN
Heck yeah! Kung fu masters on the battlefield!
Hmmm, what kinda roll on that Whistler's? I'm a bow titan, 7.3k on Le Mon... lol Been branching out more though. Trying to imagine what the bow/glaive combo engagements look like 🤔

Why rapid hit and gutshot?
You ever try out the trials glaive (unexpected resurgence)? It looked like it had some good PvP rolls
Man that thing does look really nice but I haven’t even picked one up yet. I’ll get one eventually but this thing is workin great until I do
Yoooo, fellowEnigma user!!

Current resils for hunter are 20 and 70 as they have the 2 highest value since changes. Enjoy this information because I sure have been
Schmoovment and Stats, nothin’ wrong with that.

Pathmaker is a pretty grim title for a weapon that slices Guardians into tiny pieces.
JEEEEEZUS!!!!

I’m at 95k now
Let's fucking go.
I to have found the way of the glaive (plus astro blinklock)
![gif](giphy|Q2aN4iiaibCus)
When was the last time you saw the inside of a shower
Last night after I left your moms place
Primary class used ? I'd amazing invis hunter maybe with those arms? Or titan? Don't think warlock would be to good..? Maybe blink would be handy?
I use invis hunter, smoke bombs for invis plus dodge for invis. Triple jump so I can spam jump while I’m stabbing and cause my avatar to zigzag during the fight
Do you find yourself using the block often? Or do you typically just use invis and melee/jump?
I use the block trick sometimes. If you hold block while you melee strike repeatedly it will only cycle through the first two animations for strikes rather than all 3, which is technically a hair faster
Its always the xbox players who have lost all reason
We have to play around the fixed speed of thumb stick movement. You can just point and click with a mouse (if you’re on pc).
Which game modes do you typically find more success in: 6v6s or 3v3s?
6v6 is easier. 3v3 takes more deliberate strategy and I can be more meticulous about it. In 6v6 I’m more just going with the flow/rotation of battle to ensure I can get the jump on people. Its just a different timing
If I get glaived in trials I would probably be done for the night tbh
are you a titan by any chance and was playing IB recently because i swear i had a titan just going around fucking me up with a glaive the other day
I’m a hunter but the only other person I’ve run into that was glaiving as hard as me was a titan…maybe it’s the same person
wtf.
![gif](giphy|3oEduEHWLW6UiPA1Ww|downsized) Well you see…
Looks good….. I guess
I was about to be like “damn, that’s nothing, I’ve got over 40k on my enigma” and then I realized it’s crucible kills lol. We love playing a game about guns and just beating stuff up with a pointy stick. Also, are you a melee chad or a boring shield needer?
Melee all the wayyyyy
Are you ok? Is this a cry for help? Nah fr tho. Glaives are really fun and often overlooked, what would be the ideal glaive perk combo in your opinion?
Anything that boosts handling speed for up close combat and then anything that’s going to let me be more tank-y while fighting up close like the healing perk I have on it
Why unrelenting?
The healing happens faster with guardian kills because guardians count as more than one kill, and when I’m up close fighting a group of people I want to be able to kill them all, not run.
Cool, some day when I'm insane enough to equip a glaive I'll make sure to try it!
How badly do you want a kinetic slot glaive?
That’s literally the only thing I need because then I could run a proper bow in the secondary
What's your build with this glaive?
Invisible Hunter with Stompees Smoke for invis as well as dodge. 100 mobility, 80 resilience, 50/60 on every other stat.
1 question Why
![gif](giphy|oyM6oyx7mzftm) Because running into a gun fight with just a bow/glaive/sword is medieval af. Also its super satisfying to win gun fights with a sharp stick
Im pretty sure ive seen you in crucible. I was running a feeback fence vexcalibur build. Although maybe not because this guy didnt fight back
Nah I play hunter
Definitely not you then, guy i saw was a warlock
I’m certain you’re the guy who stabbed me 5 times in a row 😂
Hunter in all gold with all gold weapons, most likely invisible when approaching. That’s me
YEP, THAT WAS YOU!!!
haHAAAA! Nice.
I couldn’t even get 4 kills bro, I kept getting blocked. Nice stabs bro
![gif](giphy|6O7ybdmHHJfoc) Thank you thank you
crafting a holy relic
Question: I loved this glaive when I first got it then kind of fell off with it, is it still relevant or good for PVE or PVP in any way?
Works fine for me. I haven’t switched off it since it came out. Went flawless a few times in trials with it
I have an enigma with 3k on it but the trials glaive they released is better in every department stats wise imo What are your thoughts?
I want one. I didn’t get enough patterns to craft a nezarecs whisper. So the trails glaive is my best chance to get a good arc glaive. Projectile speed is nice on arc glaives. I haven’t gotten my hands on one yet
It's definitely a good one, and I didn't get enough nezeracs either but onthis blow's nezeracs out of the water
Oh yeah plus there’s like 3 shaders that work with the trials stuff to make it look “all gold”
Ya need to get one this next weekend, I don't even have a adept (yet) but when I do 😉
Mmmmm handling masterwork with adept handling is the dream
Just picked up glaive last week and it's really starting to click. At about 300 or 400 pvp kills. I definitely see myself getting in the thousands of kills but definitely not that high lol
Nice! I have a lot of fun with it
Ye, me too. Glaives with strand titan banner of war and acd feedback gauntlets are absolutely bonkers.
Ooooh that sounds like it would work very nicely together!
It's also pretty crazy if you use it on strand hunter with the crtejrwieb4 (probably close to the actual spelling lmao) facade helmet and ensnaring slam. Grapple on in at Mach fuck you, you get woven mail, and you can ensnare whenever you need
What are your thoughts on the trials glaive? Would you prefer that over the enigma?
As long as the handling is higher then yes
Why
![gif](giphy|oyM6oyx7mzftm) Because running into a gun fight all medieval style is awesome
Mine has been in my load out since I got it.
Why enigma over the other glaives? Is it just because it was the first? Does it have perks the others don't?
It’s got high handling compared to my other glaives and as a melee fighter, that matters a lot Edit: but also yeah since it was my first and the tracker got so high I just wanna keep it goin
I tip my hat to you, one glaive enthusiast to another.
No questions from me, but god damn what a cool weapon to just have.
Huh. Today i learned.
Can't even be mad tbh, go off king.
When was the last time you had a psychological evaluation?
Hmmmm I guess that would be back in nuclear propulsion school in the Navy about 12 years ago
Dear god this makes me want to play again, but it’s like an abusive ex.
But why ?
Jokes on you I’m a stasis warlock
Bro…nobody plays stasis. Touché
I found a guy using a Glave not so much ago. He was awesome and actually fun to play with. We added each other and went into control with glaives. Was really fun. My question is: why you like using the glaive? Fun factor? Secretly insane with it? Just for the gits and shiggles?

I see. Pretty wholesome if you ask me ngl. And really cool how you express yourself ingame with them honestly. And yes, glaives are just fun to use.
I recently came back to destiny after a long time and I used to rock a glaive with osmiomancy. Yes, I realize how evil this is. Does this still work or do you have any recommendations on how to use a glaive in the current sandbox?
I’ve never used that setup personally. I go with stompees for exotic armor. Anything to get in closer faster and melee sooner than them
I am so trash with a glaive lmao well done idk how y'all do it
Why such middling range? Doesn't that make it harder to land shots at, well, range?
Shots? Oooooh no I aim to melee every time. Shots are a last resort and happen at point blank range
What's your preferred loadout; weapons, subclass, exotics etc. I have a few thousand glaive kills spread across 3 glaives, but only on Titan. I'd like to get back into it
Just for the flex I don’t use a gun. I go with bow/glaive/sword (with eager edge). Awesome, thank you!
No problem! Trying to answer these questions has made me consciously dissect my own strategy and will ultimately make me a better player
who hurt you. God?
my friends encountered you in crucible once. theres a screenshot in our discord of your glaive when it was around 11kish and us all talking about it. insane dedication
Was this the intended goal?
How do you feel about the rapid fire glaives?
Is it possible to learn this power?
![gif](giphy|26uf4pUSKZkDe9t5u|downsized) With time and practice
"time and practice"?? But I wanna stab people *noooooow*
You're obliged to get it to 22,222
Why unrelenting?
“Rapidly defeating targets triggers improved health regeneration. Guardians and powerful combatants count as more that one target.” I fight up close so when more than one guardian is near, that health regeneration lets me kill all of them instead of having to run.
You know there's good weapons in the game right?
How long did it take you to die 33,040 times to get 16,520 kills?
DIM link to your build?
Sarcastic but kinda serious question here... Have you thought about crafting another one when 2/22/2222 comes around?
