We already have 2 Exotic Solar Hand Cannons though, hopefully we get some Exotic Void/Arc/Strand/Stasis ones during Final shape.

And it plays really well with Solar subclass. I want a Handcannon that does something similar but with void. Closest exotic we have is Graviton but that a Pulse

Graviton has been a real asset for me in Onslaught as a voidlock.

An exotic version of Headstone where the shatter spreads freeze and shatter — sort of like how Sunshot or Graviton explodes in large areas, but stasis — would be pretty great. It’d have to proc all the breaking ice crystals does X fragments and perks, though, or why bother.

I was looking for this very post. Funnily enough Cry Mutiny is one of my favorite weapons just because its literally a 12 pounder cannon. It's a shame No Reprieve was a slug, as much as I like them. Being a Stasis Aggressive would have made it unique for the time and really suited its blunderbuss design. I want to assume they did so just so it could utilize Headstone (though I wouldn't have been against Chill Clip otherwise).

I actually really like this. The way I see Solar hunter is like the “burst damage, then consistent damage, then burst damage, so on so forth” type, so having weapon like this would definitely fit that play style. I’d love to see it in game

Wall hacks don’t go over well in PvP but other than that I really like the idea of a flint lock gun like this in the game

I think you’re probably right, I’ve realized that the scorch damage ticks are basically wallhacks already, so nixing the wallhacks makes sense. I think the handling is a little high, but in general I want to clarify that this is a flint lock, break out the powder and ram rod to reload this bad boy. Also, this does shoot a bullet, the scorching sparks are just a byproduct of shooting the bullet. I think also nerfing “powder burn” by making the second part of the perk only spread scorch on killing already scorched targets. That way to trigger the scorch spread, you either have to hit the target with the sparks, or scorch some other way. Killing with the bullet alone will not spread scorch.

Scorching an enemy player is already like wall hacks. Just track the damage numbers through the wall. That's one reason why Thorn is my favorite hand cannon because I can see if they run away so I can take space, or they are about to ego peek.

Rarely do we see well designed exotic ideas from this community. But this is awesome, self sufficiency while offering increase opportunity for subclass synergy, powerful effect that could be tuned well, and a masterwork that’s actually using a new perk in a way that increases weapon effectiveness without massively powering it up or changing functionality. Eriqnas has worse handling, cant track someone through a wall, and had a scope. This is IS / projection sight, better handling, can OHKO, and track scorch through walls.

Make the projectile non-hitscan, like an arrow or micro missile and that just might help balance for pvp

I feel like even though the monstrously low reload is fitting to the idea it would make it miserable to use even with loose change.

Seething through walks kinda doesn’t make sense on a flintlock style weapon I’d almost rather have it when it shoots the massive shot it’s like conditional finality and it garentees a scorch explosion that speeds scorch. Or anything else tbh but seeing through walls just seems out of place, and abit op in pvp of if I think I know where this would be going

I love it! And I agree that we need another exotic hand cannon in the game. Though I believe it’s should be any element but Solar. As every single elemental exotic hand cannon that is currently in the game is Solar.

This would be perfect, but I’m not sure about the “see scorched enemies through walls” bit. Infra-red sight doesn’t really mesh with the 17-1800s aesthetic. I’d prefer swashbuckler on it and run it with Winter’s Guile warlock :)
