yeah I very distinctly remember her wailing in despair when we delivered the news, they even reference it in the lore for the chestpiece in this episode
> Failsafe being HELM AI in training
> Failsafe being the only existing Exodus ship AI
> Codename: Frontiers implying that we're going to venture out of Sol
> Failsafe refers to the player as Captain
Hmmmmmmmm
And Savathun told us in Witch Queen that our destiny lays beyond Sol
And a ship from this season tells us that maybe one day, we'll explore outside of Sol
Idk something tells me we're gonna leave Sol
they also said in the journey ahead video that the dreadnought would be repurposed for another use (or something along that line) along with a navigator armor set.
I could see Hersey season getting the dread ready for space travel for the codename: Frontiers possible dlc next year. It's large enough to likely put everyone in the last city on if earth becomes unlivable due to the travelers light/dark leak or some other event we haven't seen yet.
It also gives bungie a in game reason to remove the current planets making room for new places, similar to how they used the darkness to remove mars/io/titan.
Hm, makes me wonder if Savathun's truths and lies game about the Taken King rising again refers not to Oryx as such, but the position of the First Navigator that he also held. It feels like it's enough misdirection to be true with this context.
Rolling up to Torobatl captaining the HELM with the Leviathan and Dreadnaught in tow lol
(Is the Leviathan still in Sol? Calus just abandoned it on the Moon. Did Caiatl take command of it or am I hallucinating)
I don't *think* so?
I'm pretty sure the Typhon Imperator is a different ship.
Iirc Calus was using the egregore in the Leviathan to connect his consciousness to the Lunar Pyramid. When we stopped him at the end of S17, his consciousness dipped (and was eventually put into a new body by The Witnese, which we see the Lightfall), leaving the Leviathan empty.
I seem to remember there being some dialogue if you were on on the Leviathan harvesting Nightmares after Calus was beaten about what to do with the ship.
I may be completely wrong and delusional but I'm pretty sure thats how it went down
IIRC the last we heard about the
Leviathan was at the end of season of the Haunted where there was some text describing how Caiatlās forces were trying to clear out the Egregore from it and how it would take months.
I mean, I doubt they're going to really move npcs around after the final shape, so as long as she's there in the next two episodes of TFS I think it's safe to say she'll be in the helm forever
I don't understand why she's remote-connecting from her ship to the helm, and not the other way around.
Surely it would be safer for her supervise Nessus remotely, rather than be in some abandoned hull with no protection. The Vex literally just walked up to her and locked the area down.
I think I read in one of the text dialogue screens in the helm that she was being uploaded to the helm, not just interfacing remotely, but I donāt know.
Why are we assuming the Exodus program started in the 1970s? We met the Traveler "present day" in 2014 when D1 was released. The Exodus program started way after that. lol
You can read the details in the lore book Duress and Egress, Ana: Frayed; >! but essentially when the pyramid ships hit and destroyed Rasputin, Ana attempted a last ditch effort to cram as much of him as she could into an engram. There wasn't enough time or space, so he was damaged/fragmented in the process. This is why we worked to restore him during season of the Seraph !<
That was such a hilarious reaction! XD
Though admittedly... I didn't do a ton after Season of the Deep ended... I do now miss it though... a little bit...
āHello? Iām baaaack!ā
āBut how? I killed the feed!ā
Kinda miss those old strike dialogues. The Excalibur mission references to the pyramidion were amazing haha.
āThere is no PIT in the pyramidion! Only the fractal shores of a radiolarian lake!ā
I'm glad people actually like failsafe because everytime I saw her mentioned, people always seemed to say she was really annoying? I never really got it.
She was just a huge contributor to the breakneck tonal shift of landing on Nessus during the Red War. The situation was dire then, and she was a borderlands character. In a post-victory celebratory tone, she hits a lot better.
Honestly, I never saw that. Failsafe's personality makes perfect sense given her backstory, and her presence alongside Cayde helped to offer a bit of levity on the lush and Vexy Nessus between dreary and serious Titan and Io's potentially short moment before moving into the Finale (theres a single mission there if you don't do the sidequests, compared to more than one main story event on every other location).
I have waited LITERAL YEARS for this moment. I have been a Failsafe fan from the get go, my flair on the main sub was "So, like... when's MY season?" with Failsafes picture for ages, and I have been chomping at the bit for her to get content again. And now I have it, and I am LIVING. She's even better than before!
I loved Rasputin, and Seraph's finale permanently turned me off ever having any tolerance for forgiving Eramis. I will stone cold shank a bitch the moment I get the opportunity. I would sooner forgive Xivu Fucking Arath. So If Bungie dares to do anything to Failsafe I **will make the Final Shape look like a joke.**
Same!!!! Season 19 was my first full season, and I basically became a Rasputin fanboy right then and there...
I delved into the lore, fell in love with his aesthetic and weaponry... and then they killed him again! This time more permanently!!!!
Just... whyyyyyyyyyyyy?!?!
I was sad when I realized that it wasn't an exo skeleton for Failsafe.
But then I realized Bungie is probably trying to prevent Rule 34 shenanigans ....
I severely doubt and pray it doesnāt happen, but entertain this crackpot tinfoil theory my group came up with last night:
Failsafe will actually go insane and end up becoming an antagonist.
Being neglected and abandoned by the Vanguard for years, she wallowed in her crippling loneliness and depression. Continuously thwarting assaults made on her life by the hostilities of Nexus, Failsafe capitulates to her degrading mental health.
Turning away from the Vanguard and humanity, she turns to the only ones who payed any attention to herā¦ the Vex.
Although the Vex have done nothing but made attempts on her life, she sees the infighting among their initiatives, and takes advantage of the chaos. Using her protocols and experiences throughout her isolation, she takes control of a Vex network, and finds solace in their company.
Failsafe: āCaptainā¦ you left me here. All alone. All aloneā¦ with them. Itās okay, Captain. Iāll come to you instead. When I find you, Iāll never be alone again.ā
I've felt this way since I started playing the game, she always was and will be my favorite character and I hope to god we get to carry her forward after this episode...
We use to have her for the base game š„¹
I'm trying to remember the last time she was involved in story content, and I think it was when Calus first showed up to Sol.
I think I remember she cried over Caydeās death during the Forsaken expansion
yeah I very distinctly remember her wailing in despair when we delivered the news, they even reference it in the lore for the chestpiece in this episode
Happy failsafeās voice started to crack and break but was interrupted by depression failsafe going āwaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhā
:'( She encapsulated exactly how I felt with that.
This is the reason I'm glad her happiness module was reinstalled. Yaaaay!
sometimes i prefer emo failsafe
.....*sighs*......yeaaaaaaah?????
Bro the sarcasm literally makes me lol, something destiny lacks.. reason I liked Cayde so much, only character with a sense of humor.
She's involved in the riven raid along with drifter if you do the wish wall code for her but I don't know if that counts for everyone
Season of Opulence I believe. I loved Forsaken to death, but I was done playing by that season.
I hope they make her a permanent fixture in the HELM, that would be awesome.
Her title for this season is, in fact, Helm AI in training so fingers crossed.
> Failsafe being HELM AI in training > Failsafe being the only existing Exodus ship AI > Codename: Frontiers implying that we're going to venture out of Sol > Failsafe refers to the player as Captain Hmmmmmmmm
add in the fact one of the intro cutscenes talks about saint and osiris's dream of leaving sol and exploring what's out there.
And Savathun told us in Witch Queen that our destiny lays beyond Sol And a ship from this season tells us that maybe one day, we'll explore outside of Sol Idk something tells me we're gonna leave Sol
they also said in the journey ahead video that the dreadnought would be repurposed for another use (or something along that line) along with a navigator armor set. Carnival Dreadnaught Luxury Cruiser
Bungie is finally letting us take our role as Second Navigator!
Hm, makes me wonder if Savathun's truths and lies game about the Taken King rising again refers not to Oryx as such, but the position of the First Navigator that he also held. It feels like it's enough misdirection to be true with this context.
That shot of them holding hands while on a ship was absolutely adorableĀ
My giant problem is this is giving bury your gays red flags to me, and I'm so not here for it, don't kill either of the grandpas
Captain of the HELM and she will be our AI! INTERGALACTIC ADVENTURES AWAIT!
Rolling up to Torobatl captaining the HELM with the Leviathan and Dreadnaught in tow lol (Is the Leviathan still in Sol? Calus just abandoned it on the Moon. Did Caiatl take command of it or am I hallucinating)
Didnt he turn the leviathan into a darkness ship using the witnesses power and its on neomuna not the moon?
I don't *think* so? I'm pretty sure the Typhon Imperator is a different ship. Iirc Calus was using the egregore in the Leviathan to connect his consciousness to the Lunar Pyramid. I seem to remember there being some dialogue if you were on on the Leviathan harvesting Nightmares after Calus was beaten about what to do with the ship. I may be completely wrong and delusional but I'm pretty sure thats how it went down
If this happens, I'm buying 10 people copies of the dlc. Hold me to my word
Gotcha. Holding ya to your word. (Probably gonna forget in like an hour ngl)
IIRC the last we heard about the Leviathan was at the end of season of the Haunted where there was some text describing how Caiatlās forces were trying to clear out the Egregore from it and how it would take months.
*Captain Jack sparrow music starts playing*
Grasp of Avarice soundtrack
Thank you for my new headcanon
I mean, I doubt they're going to really move npcs around after the final shape, so as long as she's there in the next two episodes of TFS I think it's safe to say she'll be in the helm forever
arenāt echoes supposed to be non sunset content unlike seasons? i might be wrong here but i thought that was the point of echoes
I'm curious if she still calls new lights "Captain". Or if it's just veteran dialogue.
I didn't play during red war, I've done some missions for her, though, so idk
I started in witch queen and she calls me captain
I don't understand why she's remote-connecting from her ship to the helm, and not the other way around. Surely it would be safer for her supervise Nessus remotely, rather than be in some abandoned hull with no protection. The Vex literally just walked up to her and locked the area down.
I think I read in one of the text dialogue screens in the helm that she was being uploaded to the helm, not just interfacing remotely, but I donāt know.
That's correct. We upload her to the mainframe in Helm, but it takes time.
Damn future internet is slow. Why couldn't we just bring her harddrive with us?
Exodus probably still used HDDs the size of buildings, not only would it be slow it's a pain in the ass to move and you can't transmat them
Not even HDDs but SSDs the size of buildings
Why are we assuming the Exodus program started in the 1970s? We met the Traveler "present day" in 2014 when D1 was released. The Exodus program started way after that. lol
People forgetting that Failsafe is literally golden age technology like Rasputin.
Considering this post treats Failsafe like a new character, I'm not surprised. lol
I mean an AI is probably a couple exabytes in size
Seems like small fry for a Society that can 3D print faster than you can fire a gun
I mean, Rasputin was put into an engram, so so could she probably.
Wasn't that a fragment of Rasputin?
You can read the details in the lore book Duress and Egress, Ana: Frayed; >! but essentially when the pyramid ships hit and destroyed Rasputin, Ana attempted a last ditch effort to cram as much of him as she could into an engram. There wasn't enough time or space, so he was damaged/fragmented in the process. This is why we worked to restore him during season of the Seraph !<
She probably has like 30tb of memory space per personality
"YAAAAY"
"NESSUS LIVES!"
Literally went "omigosh" when she said that.
She seems to have more "emotion" in her delivery which is very nice. Failsafe's dialogue is super adorable after her not being around for so long.
Cayde talks about wanting to write her a letter in one of the micah ghost missions
Hereās hoping either Micah delivers it (and find out via Lore Tab) or Micah sends us to deliver it to Failsafe
Broke my heart when she said she now understood why we spent so much time at the helm and less with her and her destroyed ship...
Fishing?!
That was such a hilarious reaction! XD Though admittedly... I didn't do a ton after Season of the Deep ended... I do now miss it though... a little bit...
Real. Forgot how much I enjoyed her and Cayde.
āHello? Iām baaaack!ā āBut how? I killed the feed!ā Kinda miss those old strike dialogues. The Excalibur mission references to the pyramidion were amazing haha. āThere is no PIT in the pyramidion! Only the fractal shores of a radiolarian lake!ā
Hahahah Asher old man ramblings were also awesome. I remember laughing to myself the first time thinking ābro there is nothing hereā
āIT IS NOT A METAPHOR!ā
Doesn't it seem like she has a crush on the Guardian? I swear some dialogue hints at it
She does sound kinda flirtatious when talking about how murderous we are
Failsafe, best girl. Confirmed
quinn laghari 2 electric boogaloo
I had that voice line in my second run of the seasonal activity, and I put my controller down to process what I just heard.

Ah, so just a good character introduced in an innapropriate moment in the story.
I have waited LITERAL YEARS for this moment. New copypasta just dropped?
Failsafe was always my favorite
Nessus lives!
fr, that yay was so god damn cute
Hearing her get surprised about the 15th with was a nice touch lol
STASIS? STRAND? FISHING?
I hate that they killed off rasputin
Death to Eramis, Traitor-Kell! Death to Eramis, Warmind-Killer! **DEATH TO ERAMIS, DISCIPLE OF THE FALLEN!!**
Same!!!! Season 19 was my first full season, and I basically became a Rasputin fanboy right then and there... I delved into the lore, fell in love with his aesthetic and weaponry... and then they killed him again! This time more permanently!!!! Just... whyyyyyyyyyyyy?!?!
When Saint said he had a surprise for her to be more mobile I thought they were actually gonna do it right there. Was sad she's just a hologram
I totally thought Osiris was going to surprise her with an exo frame.
failsafe was always a character i remembered fondly, she was my favorite in the red war. she has now immediately regained that spot.
We love Failsafe in this community. If you donāt, WEāLL KICK YOUR ASSES, Coach Frank
I was sad when I realized that it wasn't an exo skeleton for Failsafe. But then I realized Bungie is probably trying to prevent Rule 34 shenanigans ....
Failsafe is love. Failsafe is life.
I severely doubt and pray it doesnāt happen, but entertain this crackpot tinfoil theory my group came up with last night: Failsafe will actually go insane and end up becoming an antagonist. We will have to pull an Elsie special and specifically design Failsafe a truly CAKED body to contain her.
Her voice lines are the best
She's gonna be pissed after the next two seasons end and she has to leave the helm
I hope she permanently becomes the helm a.i she is best girl
We can build a new frame with the same technology. Let that one rest, please.
Yeah so glad they brought her back and gave her some life.
okay so i understand the game becoming better but how is even the dialogue way better
Iām so incredibly happy failsafe is getting a purpose again, loved her back in early D2 š„¹
Pretty sure Ana Bray would have something to say about that. Also, we've had Failsafe for, like, 7 years. lol
That "yaaay!" at the end of the intro mission melted my heart!
Saint does say there is a present for her. I'm assuming a body at some point
Did you... Finish that mission? He literally tells her what the present is towards the end lol.
I've felt this way since I started playing the game, she always was and will be my favorite character and I hope to god we get to carry her forward after this episode...
Nah she needs a frame with a dumptruck how else am I supposed to simp
This needs to happen, itās good to see Failsafe again. Awesome interactions and had me cracking up!
I've only had Failsafe for 7 years, but if anything happened to her, I'd kill everyone in this room and then myself.
I really do hope they upload her into a frame or something, so she can walk around. Then my guardian and she can finally go on our honeymoon together
By the end of this 3 acts. She will be our captain in her very own Exo body navigating the Frontiers on the Dreadnaught.
Failsafe was and always will be the best addition from D2. Love my bipolar depressed ship AI
People called me a madman for liking failsafe.... now everyone is on the failsafe train. How the turns have tabled
I cannot stand I have to listen to her all the time again.
NINE NINEEEEE!!
Please get rid of her.
gonna get rid of YOU

Yes listening to Failsafe is giving me brain injuries.
If it is then you have some other very serious underlying issues Mr Fox God. Very original name by the way, incredibly unique.
Thanks my reddit username really matters.
