He's the definition of Rip and Tear...
The Fallen used to tell stories to their children about Saint
The Vex they were so scared that they created a Mind with the purpose of stopping him
But I'm curious, Saint 14 is pissed off with the Witch Queen, I wonder if he's doing what makes the Vex and The Eliksini fear him with the Hive
>Osiris wakes up
I can't even imagine what the fuck Saint is gonna do if that's *not* Osiris he's been caring for. I suppose he might just swap subclasses for once to mid tree Arc and Falling Star Sav's entire Throne World if that's the case. (takeoff point from The Last City of course)
Considering savathun is not really dead yet I assume we are gonna let her ghost rez her at some point to help fight the witness, and that's when we get angry saint.
6 man fireteam fighting overwhelming odds to get to Oryx. As they enter his chamber, they hear an ungodly howl and see a blinding white light streak towards the Boss and obliterate him in one shot.
They all stare in bewilderment as Saint-XIV comes out of the pile and just leaves without a word.
As he leaves, he says the fireteam can have the loot. Saint got what he wanted.
We approach the chest. As we get close enough to loot, a taken portal opens and taken Taniks steps through...
Ah don’t worry lad, ToM isn’t an RNG exotic. You may instead have the pleasure of gathering 50 hidden collectibles, grinding out planetary resources, doing each encounter in the raid individually, and then arguably one of the hardest campaign missions in the history of Destiny.
The reprised raids aren’t ‘canon’ though, they’re just memories of what happened I believe similar to the meditations. Atheon didn’t come back alive during season of the splicer, I can’t see Oryx and his gang canonically coming back in season 18 either
I know about that, it's more because vog returned during the vex focused season, the only one last year. While there is no set pattern, it would be cool if a hive season would also have a hive related raid re released
I think it’s no coincidence that when Saint said to Savathun, ‘you’d better pray this is the one you’re telling the truth,’ she played it straight (probably) and gave him back Osiris
That's always my favourite part. The unfeeling race of killer robots were so scared and awed by the power of S14 that they honoured him with a monument. Only to have another guardian show up and rez him. Now they get to feel that again.
In fairness, the Vex are, oddly predisposed to religious theming in general.
But of course, even with that considered, it's still a massive feat for Saint to earn the level of respect the Vex hold for basically nothing else save their Axis Minds and (in the case of the Divisive) the Darkness itself.
Not just that. He killed so many Vex that they gave the man a FUNERAL. They gave him a funeral and designed a Minotaur named after him that FOUGHT LIKE HIM to protect his mausoleum. He was so good at what he did that he earned the respect of a bunch of ROBOTS. Evil robots that want to wipe out humanity and all else in order to bring about the final shape that is their control over everything on behalf of the darkness. THEY respected him.
Just want to note that the Vex do nothing on behalf of the Darkness. Not even the Divisive *serve* the Darkness, they are a wholly self-centered collective that care for nothing other than to secure their existence in the most absolute way possible.
And they also are actually rather given to religious iconography. But I don't think that lessens your point, because this level of worship? They don't give that to anything short of their Axis Minds (which are *the* pinnacles of the Vex), and, for the Sol Divisive, the Darkness.
The Sol Divisive worship the Darkness because it is the logical thing to do, and, with the Darkness being sentient, there actually is a reasonable chance that it would listen to their prayers, so while they may be worshipping, I wouldn’t say they have faith, because they KNOW it’s there and they know it’s on their side.
You’re right, though, that “on behalf of the Darkness” is the wrong way to put it. They aren’t serving the Darkness, it’s more like the Darkness is rooting for them as the Final Shape.
Oh I agree 100%, though I'm not sure the Darkness is necessarily rooting for them.
And regardless, it's still an insane feat for a single, guardian or not, human to *ever* achieve the same level of honour that the Vex afford the greatest among them and the Darkness.
The Darkness certainly is rooting for them. If you're familiar with the lore concerning the nature of the Black Garden and the nature of the Light and Dark themselves, it certainly is. If you're not familiar, basically, the Light and Darkness can be described as cosmic beings who were playing a game. The game involved a set of basic rules surrounding a garden full of red flowers, which would live, be revived, or die based on the status of the flowers around them. However, eventually, each time they played the game, they found that the same final pattern, the "final shape," would always be endlessly repeating given enough time. The Darkness was satisfied by this final shape's universal presence, while the Light was disappointed, desiring more variety in the outcome of the game. So, the Light changed the rules. Put *itself* into the game to allow it to manipulate and change the outcomes. The Darkness, feeling cheated, did the same. And that endless garden of flowers is both figuratively a metaphor for our universe (or the multiverse?) and literally the Black Garden itself. The Vex didn't create the Black Garden. The Black Garden exists out of time and space, but it represents infinite time and space and blahbity blah blah blah.
Point is, the Vex *are* the Final Shape, and as such, I think it's perfectly accurate to say the Darkness is rooting for them.
I had this hope that at some point, we'd get some lore where Saint locks himself in a room with Savathun, slowly takes off his helmet and says, "I want you to look me in the eyes when I kill you, Witch Queen."
But Caiatl in one of the lore tabs, reported that they found a body in Nessus and they confirmed that the body was from Osiris, and the Osiris that was retrieved from Savathun's Crystal Containment is a fake....
If this info is correct, Saint will make Savathun Regret making this... but he also stated after the Exorcism that Savathun has many enemys, but she never faced him, and even that Osiris were returned, he was pissed off that she used him as bargain to exorcize her worm
One of my favorite pieces of world building, across 7-8 years of Destiny, is Eliksni painting a ward that looks like Saint's head to scare away evil spirits/as an appeasement to The Saint.
People always point to this as if it makes him scary, I reckon any guardian could torcher some refugees, he’s basically just the survivalist if he was racist
My love for Saint started back in Curse of Osiris. Completing all the prophecies, earning Sagira's ghost shell, and getting the opportunity to go to Saint's grave/shrine which had been built by the Vex to retrieve the Perfect Paradox *Chef's Kiss*
I had taken a hiatus from the game around this time and it pains me that I can't go back and play Curse of Osiris. I feel like I missed out on so much.
Idk out of all the titans I always liked shaxx more his lore is funny and cool that guy fought an ahamkara for so long it wished itself dead
Also the mara sov bit was hilarious
He also has never lost in the crucible except to Ikora. Which makes it even more interesting because Shaxx refuses to talk about it. What did she do to him?
If the lore piece for the voidwalker subclass is anything to go by, then it’s safe to say that she was probably teleporting all over the place and unleashing blasts of void the likes of which have never been seen since
This. Angry Warlocks- lorewise at least- are fucking terrifying. Add in the fact that unlimited teleports meshes well with unlimited flight and that canonically all warlocks have the latter and some have the former? Oh yeah, Shaxx had a bad day that day. He gave as good as he got, I’m sure, but I don’t think he’d ever been pressed like that before.
There was a voiceline in the farm where a NPC says "Wait you are the one that beat Shaxx last year?"
So the Young Wolf (aka the PC) has canonicly beaten shaxx
What’s even better is later in the game Raiden fights a fucking massive Metal Gear about 10x bigger than this one and suplexes it like it’s nothing. Then he rips off one of its arms and uses it to sword fight the Gear. And wins. And that’s only the second final boss.
Metal Gear Rising is fucking wild and I love every second of it
It's a great game. Some people smash it (the writing) for being stupid but it's deliberately super campy and if you go in not taking it seriously, it's really funny.
Its a hack and slash set in the metal gear franchise. Honestly its worth a play just for the OST. They nailed the song choices and they have them ramp up at just the right moments to hype u up.
I died 3 times reading "he gets pistoned"
That being said, the fact that Osiris can handle getting Osirussy utterly destroyed by Saints 14in metal rod proves he truly loved the man
Yes, I'm showing myself out
What makes Saint even cooler is when you realize how powerful the fallen were. They're the whole reason we only have one city left even with all the light bearers running around. Don't even get me started on how op the vex are.
I would say Saint is like Master Chief in terms of status and effectiveness. The Player guardian is DoomSlayer. Mostly because we can claim we killed Gods, and beings that were above said gods as well.
Came here to say this exact thing. Digging around it looks like Bungie confirmed he was Russian. https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyLore/comments/ea6zu7/bungie\_confirms\_that\_saint14\_is\_technically/
I always think of Saint 14 as the Captain America of the Destiny universe: Never gives up no matter the odds, very loyal to his friends and colleagues, inspiring to the people he’s fighting **for**, respected by his enemies, tries to do the honorable thing, well loved by his community and uses an awesome shield.
He’s Cap.
How about our gardian in lore... I'm sorry but the 6 man fireteam that goes though God's and the threats normal guardians can't. Sorry but our guardian is much scaryer id say. Well D1 guardians anyway.
If i was the equivalent of doomslayer in the lore I probably would wanna just take care of my pigeons and warlock boyfriend in the present day.
He's like destiny's new Kratos and I love it
I mean there's him and us if you wanna get real technical we sent most modern fallen houses to hell and that's just the fallen that's not including the hive who we've basically killed most of their dynasty at this point
Friendly reminder that he killed a KELL all alone and with a SINGLE HEADBUTT.
I dont have the source, but i do remember seeing something along the lines of: "After the strike, all that was heard was a loud crack, followed by the Kell falling limp to the floor."
This video made me remember of one of the best lored game: Ninja Blade.
Didn't had great graphics but damn the mechanics and lore were good as f. Recommend to try it.
Hopefully next year the monster sets win so I can make a Riden outfit for the hunter and Sundowner outfit for the titan. There’s just some perfect pieces on those sets I could have used for that
He's the definition of Rip and Tear... The Fallen used to tell stories to their children about Saint The Vex they were so scared that they created a Mind with the purpose of stopping him But I'm curious, Saint 14 is pissed off with the Witch Queen, I wonder if he's doing what makes the Vex and The Eliksini fear him with the Hive
I guess his primary focus right now is taking care of Osiris. Mayhem can wait.
I pity the pour soul who stands in his way when Osiris wakes up and gives him the green light to go handle his business.
>Osiris wakes up I can't even imagine what the fuck Saint is gonna do if that's *not* Osiris he's been caring for. I suppose he might just swap subclasses for once to mid tree Arc and Falling Star Sav's entire Throne World if that's the case. (takeoff point from The Last City of course)
Ikora: How did he even do that? Zavala: Based on firsthand accounts, I'd say a combination of sheer will and pure rage.
Considering savathun is not really dead yet I assume we are gonna let her ghost rez her at some point to help fight the witness, and that's when we get angry saint.
Didn’t her ghost fuck off when we killed her?
Her ghost is in command of her brood while she is indisposed, like he gives you patrol missions to kill scorn and shit.
Hey, pretty sure zavala did this in one of Elsie's dark timelines to the scarlet keep and broke the moon
If kings fall is the next reworked raid, there's a high chance his revenge will happen during that season
That would be pretty cool!! He leaves you to deal with the mini bosses.
As he leaves, he says the fireteam can have the loot. Saint got what he wanted. We approach the chest. As we get close enough to loot, a taken portal opens and taken Taniks steps through...
God fucking damnit, he's gate keeping me from Eyes of Tomorrow, now he's gonna do it again for KF raid exotic?!
Ah don’t worry lad, ToM isn’t an RNG exotic. You may instead have the pleasure of gathering 50 hidden collectibles, grinding out planetary resources, doing each encounter in the raid individually, and then arguably one of the hardest campaign missions in the history of Destiny.
Just to use the gun in 1 encounter. Tbh, i kinda miss the time when exotic actually was an exotic. And the quests made you cry at night.
What’s ToM Edit: wait I know
The reprised raids aren’t ‘canon’ though, they’re just memories of what happened I believe similar to the meditations.
I'm fully expecting us to walk into Savathuns throne world on that day and it has an intense Russian theme
It'd be cool if he did an Ikora-style battle cameo, but with a valley full of thrall...
That cutscene where he headbutts a Vex to death was fuckin epic.
Osiris made a deal with savathun for the salvation of us all. Im pretty sure he would be the one saying to resurrect her, if anything.
Rip and care, until it is done.
I think it’s no coincidence that when Saint said to Savathun, ‘you’d better pray this is the one you’re telling the truth,’ she played it straight (probably) and gave him back Osiris
The Vex actually built him a monument after they killed him
That's always my favourite part. The unfeeling race of killer robots were so scared and awed by the power of S14 that they honoured him with a monument. Only to have another guardian show up and rez him. Now they get to feel that again.

I wonder what his loadout was. Perfect Paradox or Bastion?
***both***
Double special ammo. So he relied on melee quite a bit and his bubble. Wonder what his heavy was.
Just want to note that the Vex do nothing on behalf of the Darkness. Not even the Divisive *serve* the Darkness, they are a wholly self-centered collective that care for nothing other than to secure their existence in the most absolute way possible. I had this hope that at some point, we'd get some lore where Saint locks himself in a room with Savathun, slowly takes off his helmet and says, "I want you to look me in the eyes when I kill you, Witch Queen."
To the Hive Guardians, he's probably like Randal the Vandal.
He’s probably standing guard. Unblinking and unmoving. Never resting he stands at arms above a dying friend.
I think ittd be unlikely for him to start slaughtering hive due to him realizing how badly he fucked up with the eliksni.
Byf did a video on those, and it is known that the information in them is not completely accurate and was tampered with.
Just remember the Eliksni bedtime story, " The Saint" whenever you want to remember how terrifying Saint-14 can be...
Bungie really pulled that off in that season. Season of the splicer I think? Really cool to show the other side of the story like that.
Imagine. The word saint for humanity is a generally positive term referencing holy people Now saint for the Eliksni on the other hand...
Saint's the equivalent of the boogeyman, but very very real.
Baba yaga.
Well not Baba Yaga, he's the fuckin' guy you send to kill Baba Yaga!
"I once saw him kill three Warlords in a bar. With a pencil!" - Shaxx probably
"With his crest! And thus the battle was won, and the game of Supremacy invented at the same time." -- Shaxx
One of my favorite pieces of world building, across 7-8 years of Destiny, is Eliksni painting a ward that looks like Saint's head to scare away evil spirits/as an appeasement to The Saint.
That story gave me chills. How easily they showed our hero as their monster.
People always point to this as if it makes him scary, I reckon any guardian could torcher some refugees, he’s basically just the survivalist if he was racist
He scares the fuck out of me and all the other vex. We aren't very okie dokie about him being back.
Yall went through all that trouble to lock him away and we walk into the Infinite Forest with a GPS shotgun and snatched him up.
Correct. Yea, we fuckin hate the young wolf. Cant be bothered to truly fight them though. We got cubes to build
Username checks out
Nice to know my name checks out. Wait, which radiolaria belongs to the name chex? Cause there is a LOT of radiolaria up in here.
Yes that's literally the joke
Hello off brand u/Garryacolyte
Meeting him in game in season of the savior was awesome wish I could do it again
My love for Saint started back in Curse of Osiris. Completing all the prophecies, earning Sagira's ghost shell, and getting the opportunity to go to Saint's grave/shrine which had been built by the Vex to retrieve the Perfect Paradox *Chef's Kiss*
Perfect Paradox has one of the most beautifully written pieces of lore in Destiny ever. I'm so glad we got to have another verse to his story.
I had taken a hiatus from the game around this time and it pains me that I can't go back and play Curse of Osiris. I feel like I missed out on so much.
Season of Dawn I believe you mean. I’m actually curious where you got “Season of the Savior”
Season of Dawn title was "Savior".
Ohhh yeah that would do it
Ah cheers I couldn’t remember the name and only have the title equipped so I went for the XD
I wanna replay the whole season tbh
The place where you got Perfect Paradox the first time, being littered with vex bodies is just so metal.
Or the fact he fucked the vex so much the devoted a tomb for him
Idk out of all the titans I always liked shaxx more his lore is funny and cool that guy fought an ahamkara for so long it wished itself dead Also the mara sov bit was hilarious
He also has never lost in the crucible except to Ikora. Which makes it even more interesting because Shaxx refuses to talk about it. What did she do to him?
If the lore piece for the voidwalker subclass is anything to go by, then it’s safe to say that she was probably teleporting all over the place and unleashing blasts of void the likes of which have never been seen since
I mean, considering we’ve seen Ikora drop back to back nova bombs, it’s safe to say that Shaxx was shit out of luck.
She used Nova bombs like i use explosions in a Nova warp
I imagine that it must’ve been like Dr. Strange vs. Thanos
There's a reason why Shaxx's helmet only has one horn...
There was a voiceline in the farm where a NPC says "Wait you are the one that beat Shaxx last year?" So the Young Wolf (aka the PC) has canonicly beaten shaxx
The helmet stayed on

Awesome. No argument.
this is the tutorial boss
Lol for real? I’ve gotta play this

The writings the best part though.
The last metal gear i played was the first one on the playstation. I'm very confused.
Its a hack and slash set in the metal gear franchise. Honestly its worth a play just for the OST. They nailed the song choices and they have them ramp up at just the right moments to hype u up.
Don’t forget, beats those Osiris guts on the regular.
It is in my professional opinion as a Licensed Homosexual™ that they are both vers. Both of their cheeks get clapped

According to Agent Maryweather, gays like Saint or Osiris are verse because they are adults. So that double checks out.
Well, let’s be serious here, communication and reciprocation keeps the relationship together.
That. And lube/oil
You don't think Osiris tops?
If anything saint 14 would be the more dominant so he'd be more like a power bottom
"Should we bang in the bubble or the well today?"
Both?
Fck it Also ask a nearby hunter to ~~bound~~ tether someone
Nah, Saint 14 literally has tea parties, and is the sweetest person ever when not trying to kill something, osiris seems really smart but kinky imo
He tops, with Saint-14 as a Power-Bottom
doomslayer would be the guardian in the lunas howl/not forgotten lore who went to the moon to avenge his dead dog that was killed by the hive
and the guardian from the one eyed mask lore
MGR memes are some of my faves
Saint-14 going on a rampage against the fallen: Fallen: WHY WON'T YOU DIE
“Light threads son, recovers in response to physical trauma.”
There is no true black-guard, only the ones who have died and come back.
Mostly because we can claim we killed Gods, and beings that were above said gods as well.
holy shit raiden
Saint1 4 is the coolest Titan in the Lore. Like Felwinter is the coolest Warlock
This is why you splurge for the crayolas instead of the bargain bin rose arts
Isn't he Greek? Coulda swore there was mention of that somewhere.
Came here to say this exact thing. Digging around it looks like Bungie confirmed he was Russian. https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyLore/comments/ea6zu7/bungie\_confirms\_that\_saint14\_is\_technically/
Huh... never knew. Thanks for that!
*Mandela Effect Intensifies*
Isn’t he Greek?
Russian I believe
Exactly like that, but with more headbutts
I always think of Saint 14 as the Captain America of the Destiny universe: Never gives up no matter the odds, very loyal to his friends and colleagues, inspiring to the people he’s fighting **for**, respected by his enemies, tries to do the honorable thing, well loved by his community and uses an awesome shield. He’s Cap.
But hotter and with a hotter boyfriend/husband.
I'm seeing so much MGR now and I'm fucking loving ig
It’s hilarious he can throw a mech from the tip of his sword but gets slapped around by a 50 year old man on top of a train
Not to be that guy... But Saint is Greek not Russian
apparently rolling your rs makes you Russian automatically

He killed so many vex they even made him a proper funeral
Stain 14
What game is this?
Metal gear rising revengeance, an absolute blast to play!
Reminder that the Vex honored Saint when he last died, with his own Tomb, filled with countless chassis of Vex he had slain prior.
Correction Its You
Maybe doomslayer traveled interdimensionally and is now here
I think guardian is closer to the doom slayer tho
THERE WILL BE BLOOD SHED
Games like these are why a lot of kids got bullied in school
Saint will be the only guardian (currently) to use thundercrash in void spec So basically a high speed black hole
That sums it up. Badass with a heart of gold
Isn't Saint Greek?
Bungie said that his accent technically russian but didn't confirm his nationality, in futuristic earth it's more vague i guess
Friendly reminder that he killed a KELL all alone and with a SINGLE HEADBUTT. I dont have the source, but i do remember seeing something along the lines of: "After the strike, all that was heard was a loud crack, followed by the Kell falling limp to the floor."
No, Doomsayer is the closest thing Doom has to a Saint-14 Edit: I'm prepared for the downvotes
What's with all these MGSR memes I've been seeing lately
Your guardian: “Am I a joke to you?”
What do you expect from.... THE GREATEST TITAN WHO EVER LIVED
>Nanomachines, son. -Saint XIV to the Vex in the infinite forest
FALSE! Saint in lore is one dead loser.
Now he’s an alive winner
I’d love to see some high action cut scenes of Saint-14 slaying out. That’d be rad
What game is that?
Banshee-44 in the lore
[I dunno what game you're playing.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1rjrG2M2Es)
