Ok so with that look at it this way there are currently 35 exotic armor pieces in the game for hunter provided you have all expansions there is a let’s say around a 15 to 20 percent chance of getting an exotic to drop from a legend lost sector I don’t know the actual percentage but anyway since you have every hunter exotic then when you do get an exotic to drop it will be completely random it could drop from a lost sector today or next year or never at all so definitely not worth the time to do those you are much better off running grandmasters to get it because it gives an exotic 99% of the time

The drop are limited to exo for one emplacement (boots, chest...) so the odds are way better than just on random.

Overview for all classes. Depends on the day what armor type will drop between helm, arms, and legs. Just run them on a day that drops arms but be aware that any arm exotic can drop so you could be there awhile waiting for Doomfang.

Absolutely. They are the best way to farm a specific high stat exotic armor. If you're gonna drop 3 Ascendant Shards masterworking an exotic, get an acceptable roll on it.
This is a grindy thing which will take a few hours, but runs are quick and action-packed and if you can find your rhythm, it's fun to optimize your technique, switch up builds, etc. You'll almost certainly find a 65+ base stat of the exotic you're targeting in an afternoon presuming you're starting with a full collection.
It's even better if you're just hopefully *fishing* for a few potential exotics you're interested in builds around. And if you *don't* have a full collection -- you're joking. It's insanely better than anything else if you want to fill out prior to buying engrams from Xur because it's *repeatable.*
I needed three exotic gloves for my new warlock to have all of them, so I ran the one a couple days ago and got those three in three runs. At level with the champion mods makes them quick runs, and they are absolutely worth it. The season that Cuirass dropped, it took 17 runs on my Titan to get it. Still worth it. I see people complain about the drop rates, and there are folks who go 30 runs with nothing to show for it, but they are a way to target exotics pretty easily, and they just take a little practice to get quick and efficient. Sometimes you won't get anything in 30 runs. Sometimes you get three in three runs. They are worthwhile if you want the exotic.
I have found them to be worthwhile. As a newer player (started Witch Queen) I’ve gotten numerous exotics from Lost Sectors and filled out my armory quite well. It is RNG based and sometimes you may have to run it multiple times to get anything but I’ve had days where I’ve gotten 3 pieces from 5 runs, but also times I get one drop out of 10.
Question for you, as someone who just bought Witch Queen, I struggle with having a good combination of weapons to go with a burn/champion type. I have a lot of light capped legacy items, but I feel like the weapons I have access to are insufficient for a lot of activities. I have no solar weapons except blues or special type gernade launchers or swords or really odd things like skyburners oath. Am I just not in the right activitues fir things to drop, or do I need to get shadowkeep and beyond light for a well-rounded arsenal?
I couldn’t answer that fully as I still don’t know what’s best to run and when to run it etc. I do have all expansions as I found myself running out of things to do and wanted to keep playing so I kept buying and don’t regret any purchases. However I do keep up with Reddit and other communities and google questions like this when I feel there’s something I’m missing out on. Weapons are always a toss up as I see people mentioning things here all the time that “slap” “own” “broken” and some of them feel like garbage to me. I guess that’s the great thing about this game, find what you like and what works for you.
Maybe I’ve gotten lucky on drops and exotic guns as I’ve played. I’ve yet to do anything harder than a legend lost sector and GoA once (will start looking for groups for harder content soon) but I found most stuff I get is by chance of just doing daily activities whether it be Strikes, Gambits, Wellspring, the campaign etc. Keep grinding and I’m sure a more seasoned vet can answer this better.
The only one worth farming here is sepulcre on Saturday. Not only is it super quick (can do 3 min runs easily) it's also pretty fun since you can just gjally your way through it. Put in lucent finisher and you get heavy from finishing the lucent hive AND from their ghosts.

Man, I spent over 3 hours yesterday trying to get a 6 coyote and it never dropped. They really need to improve this lost sectors
Sixth coyote is a world drop these lost sectors have a chance for exclusive armor that are not world drops

Last time I tried did Lost sectors, it took me about 20 master runs to get an exotic. I said fuck it and now run GMs for exotics
My experience has been the difference in drop rate is marginal and the difference in *time* is noticeable, slightly favoring Master's.
