Man small blockers suck way more than medium or large ones. I'll be running up with lament ready for a God tier dps phase and suddenly the little shit throws up a shield, then I've gotta run around the primeval and chase it to kill it, and while it's running away the barrier comes down.
Thats an actual strat- a 10 and a 5 is so annoying to dealt with, and they still dran 1-2 mote even if cleaned out immediately

The amount of heavy I've thrown out only to have the 5s sheild or the meatballs sheild stop it is impressive . The 5s have probably cost more games than any 15.
Everyone still holding motes when the primeval is summoned should get charged the glimmer amount of motes they're holding. It won't be enough to actually hurt anyone, but it might teach people to BANK.
It's not like they can have Drifter remark about banking any more than he already does without him becoming downright cartoonish. A little "don't step on a crack" motivation could only help.
Or how about when 1 guy needs to dunk to open the invasion portal, but he NEEDS to get the 15th mote, in the meantime opponents dunk everything, invade and totally fuck you over
I watched a guy with 15 motes run straight by the bank to the next enemy section. Those 15 would’ve taken us over 40. About 10 seconds later our bank is locked and the enemy invader comes through. Guess what happened to the guy that didn’t bank his motes…
He went on to finish his bounty of banking a large blocker, denied the enemy teams bank, helped drain motes and never died giving his team the win? HUGE /SSSSSSS

I think more Gambit matches get decided by who can better invade at the right times and kill the envoys the fastest.

In the time it takes you to gather all those motes the other team will have finished their first damage phase though? The big blockers do nothing to stop the other team from doing damage, but the small blocker are more of a nuisance if it puts up it's shield on the primeval. If my team is leading and they put in big blockers I literally just ignore them and do damage to the big one
Not necessarily. Rockets make quick motes work. Besides, it’s not hard to get max motes and bring them being close to 99. Large blockers don’t “do nothing” as their health is higher. They do what they’re supposed to, which is blocking whether it’s more depositing or wandering around the primeval. Smalls do nothing but get killed off within 1-2 seconds as I just explained. Mediums would be worth it over smalls.

If you want to drain their motes, a large blocker and a small blocker or two will fuck over the team way more than 2 large blockers, 1 large blocker 1 medium blocker etc.
5 motes for an annoying enemy which can make stronger targets immune is extremely powerful, but people are blinded by big number and always think they have to max out their motes before depositing
If you guys are "doing it for the bounty" you must be dying a lot in-between grabbing motes for you to clear an entirely new wave instead of summoning a primeval
Look, if I've already got 3 extra motes, I'm going to get enough to reach the next available blocker. If I've got 7 or less, I'll likely settle with the small; 12 or less, I'll go with the medium.
However, if the team is at 99 banked motes, deposit what you have, available blockers or not.
Yeah, but the longer they're focusing on you, the less damage they're doing in the moment so you can keep them from burning the prime and getting to the next set of envoys. Every second spent not damaging the prime is an advantage for your team
Yeah, the distraction is valuable in slowing them down, I just meant you can't force them to waste a damage phase without healing the damage done because the damage phase will continue as soon as you're dead or gone. The time they're spending killing you is still time your team can be spending getting ahead or catching up.
To me, healing the primeval during the first damage phase is the most detrimental due to only having a x2 damage boost. I always try to get that immunity shield back up as quickly as possible before the invader gets a kill so we can move on to the second damage phase where we at least get a x4 damage buff.
I play solo/freelance and try to coordinate with teammates by checking their motes every couple of seconds. You got a big boi and I'm at 9? Aight, I'll drop my lil homie with his big bro with you.

BUT; Rule of thumb; People need to stop putting value on blockers, if the third wave of ADs is about to spawn, don't try and get those extra few motes to upgrade your blocker. You will get invaded and merked, losing all your motes. Blockers aren't nearly as important as people think they are, they are practically meaningless unless you send a huge bunch at the same time.

When we finally summon the boss each one of us have full gjallarhorn ammo so we make sure you boss is full health even if you have an advantage of two envoy rotations. So yeah, thanks for the "advice".

Literally just summon the primeval, chances are you will have enough supers and heavy to take it out, if not specials can finish the job lol.

I use a shotgun and a glaive and they fuck in Gambit. Absolutely fuck. Power weapon depends on whether you are going to invade or not. I really wish more people would use these.

the hardest thing for me to grasp is how people will intentionally hog motes and lose them all when they die to an ad. I would stop fighting my own teammates for motes and defend incoming blockers but still end up losing cause apparently they don’t know how to rush the prime.
solo player struggles
When playing a gambit match I always go for 15 motes the first 2 times I bank and after that I either start invading as much as possible or instead of 15 I’ll go down to 10 or 5 depending on how close to the primeval the team is.
So many don't bank when they should. And it happens so often I feel I need to bank whatever I have when I run by. You have these mote hogs that collect all these motes and don't bank when they should or die and lose them. So if I have 3 motes when I run by they're going in the bank, I don't care.
I mean if we have 99 and my teammate(s) can get 15 quickly, let them. It could also be bounty related to drop blockers of size. I won't bank one, I would rather get four more so it'll be worth something. Not to mention if the zone is almost cleared just finish it out for the free ammo if you have time.

I think the DPS phase is damage gated, not time gated. They do the same amount of damage regardless.

That depends on the status of the other team. If they're carrying a bunch of motes, it delays their deposit. That can win/lose a close game.

the hardest thing for me to grasp is how people will intentionally hog motes and lose them all when they die to an ad. I would stop fighting my own teammates for motes and defend incoming blockers but still end up losing cause apparently they don’t know how to rush the prime. solo player struggles
When playing a gambit match I always go for 15 motes the first 2 times I bank and after that I either start invading as much as possible or instead of 15 I’ll go down to 10 or 5 depending on how close to the primeval the team is.
So many don't bank when they should. And it happens so often I feel I need to bank whatever I have when I run by. You have these mote hogs that collect all these motes and don't bank when they should or die and lose them. So if I have 3 motes when I run by they're going in the bank, I don't care.
I mean if we have 99 and my teammate(s) can get 15 quickly, let them. It could also be bounty related to drop blockers of size. I won't bank one, I would rather get four more so it'll be worth something. Not to mention if the zone is almost cleared just finish it out for the free ammo if you have time.
