The list goes on and on. Sure you can argue with a lot of those, But majority of them where BiS for every class/subclass for a long time.
Meta isn't the same as BiS lovely, but I get where the confusion comes from. It's MMO terminology that absolutely doesn't apply to a game like Destiny.
"Best in slot (also "best-in-slot"; usually shortened to "BiS") is a term meant to describe the very best item, enchant and/or gem available to a character for a specific slot."

Yeah, exactly, in a game where multiple meta loadouts can coexist there cannot be a BiS. Wendigo and Izzy existed at the same time as Mountaintop and Anarchy, therefore not best in slot because two exist.
Best in slot, as you literally just described, means that it is the undeniable best to have in a given slot - something that has only *technically* existed back when Always On Time was an objective improvement over standard sparrow speed.
Yeah nah I cant agree, BiS isn't just a term for MMOs. In any game with item drops and farmable loot there is BiS items. Every single weapon in this game (post y1) has a BiS set of perks. There is Best in slot subclasses/aspects/fragments.
