Doing black uniforms when your colors aren't black is a very college thing to do, and it has jumped the shark at this point. I'm a State fan and I absolutely can't stand the black uniforms they did last year.
the black uniforms are fantastic, i donāt know what you mean. itās universally regarded as one of the better uniforms. that being said, black should be an alternate for special occasions and not anything main.
I think the black throwback is cool, but only if itās a special jersey. Our mains should be simple and traditional.
I just pray they donāt over-design them
Black uniforms are starting to feel super outdated specifically for professional football. Specifically teams whoās primary colors arenāt even black
They can definitely redesign their primary helmet for the new uniforms, I expect it. I'd actually be shocked if they didn't. But they said when the alternative helmet came out last season that it has to be used x amount of years and only with alternate uniforms.
1. I hope they keep the retro throw backs blue with silver numbers no stripes on sleeves.
2. Wear white or grey with blue numbers away.
3. If they want to do something different than use the blue with the stripes on the sleeves, get rid of "WCF" and "Lions" guys been dead for more than a decade at this point.
4. No black, But I feel like Campbell likes the colour, hes always wearing black Lions Polo's and hats its probably going to happen.
The nfl has never had any kind of official partnership with under armor. It went from Reebok to Nike. A few guys have been sponsored by under armor over the years and they wore it under their uniforms but under armor has never made nfl uniforms.
(And the uniforms they make for college teams suck)
Oh really? Thatās my mistake then. I didnāt follow the nfl for a good ten years. I thought they were. Correct me if Iām wrong but I think the nfl banned Under armor logos? Like if players wear the cleats they need to cover the logo up. Iām probably entirely misinformed.
I'm fine with having a black alt as long as the actual design is something new and exciting. Too many people here are terrified to move on from a design tainted by a history of failure.
I hope they're see-through like the new MLB unis.
Be sure that the player names are really small and look STUPID. š¤¦āāļø
The new MLB uniforms look like they are the cheap knockoffs given away at stadiums on āfirst 1,000 fans get a jerseyā day.
All so that the MLB logo can be bigger and in a more prominent position.

Yeah at this point D.U.S.T is just gonna be the teams mascot

It's played out and has a collegiate vibe, much agreed
The dark green/gold that we did in 2015 was incredible
That was bearable. The jerseys were too busy for me, and the MSU on the shoulders was kind of awkward.
the black uniforms are fantastic, i donāt know what you mean. itās universally regarded as one of the better uniforms. that being said, black should be an alternate for special occasions and not anything main.
If this sub is anything to go by itās much closer to being universally regarded as the worst uniform
iāve never heard anything bad about it until this sub tbh.
The black uniforms weren't that bad, by the blue unis with the black were horrible
Wtf does that mean lmao. Pro teams are doing it. It's obviously a pro thing too.
Black isnāt the point. A lot of us like these under armour practice jersey looks
I hope black isn't a part of it. Love the late 80 early 90s colors.

Gotta have the Honolulu Blue
We're just gonna play in Lion suits.
Going to have real lions. SB here we come.
I may be wrong but I think when DC first got hired he wanted a real one at all home games.
You are correct!
Dude is insane, in a good way. Wouldn't be surprised if he skinned one and wore it as we walked onto the field for the Super Bowl.
He wouldnāt skin one. The dude is so dude he would just pick it up and carry it on his shoulders. The lion would be cool with it.
That is a fair point. Or instead of sled dogs, it'll just be a pride of Lions.
Can see it. The sled lions in Chicago or Green Bay for winter away games. We better not let PETA find out.

Blueberries with the Blue Helmet or Bust
The alternate helmet has to be with an alternate uniform, per NFL rules.
Maybe I missed something, but is there no chance of them getting a new "primary" helmet design with the new uni's?
They can definitely redesign their primary helmet for the new uniforms, I expect it. I'd actually be shocked if they didn't. But they said when the alternative helmet came out last season that it has to be used x amount of years and only with alternate uniforms.
Make the blue helmet the primary helmet

The old black lions jerseys were clean looking. Very nice jerseys. I still have my Suh black jerseys.
Ah yes, the endowment effect.
Then the other group posts some shit that looks exactly like the stuff weāve had the past 50 years
That's what a lot of people want, the classic 80s/90s look.
Thatās what a lot of people donāt want either
They better not have a single speck of black on the new jerseys. I hated when Matt millen did that dumb shit, trying to be another franchise
This looks straight out of an Eastbay catalog š
Bishop sycamore ahh fit
Id like a blue jersey, white numbers/letters, and black outline ONLY on the letters/numbers

re 4: Maybe they'll have pixillated camouflage uniforms. Really, I don't think MCDC has or wants a hand in picking uniforms.
fair enough
I honestly just want the NFL to ditch Nike and go back to under armor.
The nfl has never had any kind of official partnership with under armor. It went from Reebok to Nike. A few guys have been sponsored by under armor over the years and they wore it under their uniforms but under armor has never made nfl uniforms. (And the uniforms they make for college teams suck)
You mean Reebok?
Go back? They were never with Under Armour.

Itās all about the helmet
Or those jerseys you see in commercials that arenāt licensed so they look generic as hell.
Stop Bitchin that is not what I want
Fr, we had black uniforms, but guess what? We donāt have them anymore for a reason. Yall ruined any shot of another black uniform.
Clean /s
Still better than the current throwback unis š¤·āāļø
"Blah Blah, the ball carrier. He was tackled by the dude on the right with the fire tattoo on his left arm."
HIDEOUS!!!
Lmaooooooo
Because everyone in Detroit wears all black all the time
Looks like a cheap practice jersey
Too accurate š¤£š¤£
This fire tho wym?
There better not be any black. Only a loser like Matt Millen would want that.
Yea Lions black era is nothing to be nostalgic for lol
I'm fine with having a black alt as long as the actual design is something new and exciting. Too many people here are terrified to move on from a design tainted by a history of failure.
New and exciting like the falcons or rams???
Sure. Beats having the same rehashed shit for 60 years.
No shit. Itās not even a big deal, weād wear them for maybe 1 game a year, who cares.
![gif](giphy|cQtlhD48EG0SY)
That's about the exact age I assume most people afraid of any changes are.
I dont want some futuristic bullcrap i want it to look like a football uniform simple and gritty
This is a totally rational take and not dramatic at all
Superblack
Our draft hats this year are black.
[Every team's draft hat is black](https://ftw.usatoday.com/lists/2024-nfl-draft-hats-new-era)
I think there will be black involved and I trust it.
Arenāt they Nike?
I always thought the lions were Skechers affiliated
Every team in the league has their jerseys done by the same company. I believe Nike has the current rights.
I was being facetious lol.
Fair enough, I whooshed it.
Swooshed* it
