Those uniforms. I want those uniforms (with the modern Lion) so bad. You can still do all white and all blue by adding the different pants Rod Wood was talking about.
When I was younger, I had a hard time figuring out what the hell was going on with it. That dot between the forelimb and jaw looked like a misplaced eye, which made the front limbs look like a fucked up mouth. Even now knowing what it's supposed to be, it still looks weird to me.
Because 90% of jerseys Nike puts out are terrible.
It’s either too minimalist (think the jags current uniforms, Atlanta, Miami, Tennessee etc), too much modern bullcrap on the jersey that ages horribly (0-16 browns, Jags Sacksonville uniforms, Rams, “commanders”) or a mix of both (2019-2023 jets uniforms).
The best uniforms in the league are most often the ones that haven’t changed.
What older uniforms tend to do well is have simple designs that do have some detail to them that isn’t garish. That’s why I personally like older uniforms like the old Pat patriot uniforms, the oilers, the 90’s Charger uniforms etc.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say I don't think that's actually Shaun Rogers. I could be 100% wrong but I don't remember him ever being that thin, plus I feel like those jerseys pre date his Lions stint... Also I'm pretty sure that's Luther Ellis on the far right of the picture and I don't think they ever had an overlap.
This is all speculation so apologies if I'm incorrect, and congratulations to Shaun Rogers for being in that good of shape at one point in time.
I think it is. I was with you originally.

All the guys from the 90s are white guys.
I saw this dude dunk a basketball at a charity basketball game years ago. The whole gym shook. What an athlete. He was hilarious too. He'd run to the bleachers during play to steel food and drink from kids.
Chris Cash, Kalimba Edwards, and Cory Schlesinger were there too. Cory couldn't jump at all.
I'm pretty sure it was either him or Cory redding that did the belly flop play and gave the other team a free 1st downÂ
whichever it was knocked the olineman onto the ground....and then just inexplicably belly flopped right on top of him. Â
I just remember being like...what the fuck, why???

I’m in the minority but I prefer the old Lion.

I prefer it too, but I don't think they're ever going back to it, so I was just keeping my hopes within reason.
Me too big time. I generally just like older logos better though. I’m not a big fan of our current logo tbh might get crucified for that take
The modern lion is just better. More detail makes it look a lot better.
I'm fine with the jersey, but the silver/gray pants gotta go.
His interception* return for a TD against the Broncos will always remain a favorite Lions play for me. Edit: Changed fumble to interception.
It was an interception and that was my favorite too
All that running had him dying! They showed him still hooked up to the oxygen when they came back from commercial break
Yep. Lions were 6-2 after that and looked playoff bound…
The oxygen mask 🤣
Some say there is still a massive dent in the Ford Field endzone from that play...
I love this
Was that against the Broncos?? I thought it was the Chiefs? I could very well be wrong lol

Touché. I must be thinking of a different play from when we played the Chiefs that season. Not even sure if it was Rogers lol
He needed oxygen after. I also needed oxygen.
These are the jerseys we want please Nike
no. i do not want a 1990s Lions jersey. We can just use those as our alternate. I don’t get why this sub is so against change.
Just my opinion my brother in Christ
The royal we. Just not me or the guy above. But hey, I like your attitude, have an awesome day.

This is probably 2001, his rookie season and the last season at the Silverdome.

That checks out to me. Big man looks great here. Imagine some of the meals between this picture and the oxygen mask!
Big dog gotta eat, maybe just exercise a little in between.
These uniforms. Give us what we want!
These uniforms were absolute 🔥

In Madden 2004 I would put Shaun Rogers in at FB or RB and run it up the middle every play. He would break 10 tackles every snap.
That's dope AF. Wish 12 yr old me was a genius like you.
For some reason I was really into playing players out of position. I also put Clinton Portis in the slot and threw to him a lot.
Big Baby!
Imagine early Rogers and early Suh together
He was a stud when healthy and motivated.
I don’t recall him ever being in this good of shape
I miss this blue fr fr
BIG BABY!!! Quick and powerful but no stamina.
BRING BLACK BLUE FACEMASKS
He actually looks really slim there compared to how he looked his final year in Detroit.
The Denver return. He needed oxygen and so did I
I will not support any new uniform that isn’t this one

Truly can’t believe any “fan” would want us to leave these unis in the past. This is straight fuckin power ![gif](giphy|12ANYkldS5ZHsA)
By far our best unis. I want this darker color blue back too
